The position is perfect easy walk to beaches and restaurants. The hotel is clean and very well presented. Bedrooms are lovely. Staff excellent nothing was too difficult.
Breakfast was expensive every thing was itemized.
A set price menu would be better. My advise have breakfast down town or near the beach. Perfect place to unwind and relax at the end of the day. Great view of the favelas especially at night.

A charming bed and breakfast establishment in a picturesque and historical part of Rio. There was a great view of the bay and the sugar loaf from our bedroom. The breakfast on the terrace outside was excellent and the hostess Elena was friendly and helpful.
We felt safe at all times in Quinta Rosa and walking about the neighbourhood of St Teresa. Taxis were plentiful and reasonably priced, the Metro quick and efficient with Gloria, the nearest station, just 10 minutes walk down the hill (more coming home!).

They were superb from check-in to chec-out! Booked for a street view room and got lucky to be upgraded for an ocean view for free. Room is very spacious and clean and if you stay in one of the top floors, you got a great view of the copacabana and leme beach. The hotel is also a block away from the famous Copacabana Palace. The breakfast buffet had extensive selection. Loved their detox juice and definitely pigged out on the frute de conde!!! All of the staff were very accomodating. I have to make special mention of Carlos (breakfast buffet), Luciano (bellboy) and Sacha (reception). They were above and beyond their customer service. They made our stay even more special!!! Obrigado!!!

"Really enjoyable hotel right on the beach. Staff"
Really enjoyed our stay here. Staff were always willing to help and the location was fantastic. Pool on top floor is a great place to relax and have some beers and it also looks over Copacabana which is priceless. Would definitely use again if ever in Rio.
Right on Copacabana beach, the Arena offers you a breathtaking view over the beach. If you prefer Ipanema, it would take just …More
Most people don't go to Rio looking for a quiet getaway, but if you're one of those people who's willing to try something different, the Rio 180 is for you. Spectacular views, peaceful surroundings, and wonderfully attentive staff make this a great place to stay. One of the owners is a chef who conjures up dishes that are appealing to both the eyes and the palate, and everyone is friendly and welcoming. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel!

Casa Mango Mango is like a bed and breakfast in a beautiful old world style mansion. I believe there are only five or six rooms, so the atmosphere is cozy and tailored to your stay. This place has pretty much everything you could ask for when traveling: cleanliness (our room was impeccable), comfort (our room and the common areas were so inviting), free wifi, and an excellent staff that helped with all sorts of inquiries. They also had a great menu of tasty treats available at reception (drinks and sandwiches) for when you wanted to order something in.
Staying at Case Mango Mango was such a treat because we were able to stay in a more residential area of Rio (not just on the beachthough you could easily take the bus to the beach). In Santa Teresa, we got a fuller view of city living in Rio and we also had excellent access to bars, music clubs, and events in Lapa just a short walk or bus ride away. The staff helped us plan parts of our trip around Rio and helped get a taxi to the airport on a rainy night.

We stayed here for one night over carnaval and were able to walk to and from the sambadrome (and felt safe)
The staff were fantastic, so lovely, friendly and welcoming, it was like going to stay with family!!
The building itself is quite unusual as it's an old colonial building and you enter via a tunnel and old school elevator.
The rooms were clean and tidy and had been decorated well, but obviously as this is an old building, we were able to hear people in the next room very clearly and also people walking about in the room above us. However, the bed was really comfortable and a great shower.
We ordered room service, which I wouldn't recommend. We had panninis and they were really dry and resembled the food we had got on the plane. Breakfast wasn't included in the rate and based on the food we had, we didn't think it was worth it.
The pool was clean and the garden area was lovely. And the seating areas in the reception were comfortable.
I would recommend this place, but maybe not the best for light sleepers
