Practical hotel for short stay in rio

Posted Aug 21, 2014
2 mins walk to cops ana beach, with local shops and restaurants nearby, this is a practical hotel for a short stay in Rio. Breakfast and wifi are included and staff are very welcoming and helpful. Rooms are adequate and there is a small rooftop terrace with a tiny plunge pool for relaxation

1/2 block from the beach.

Posted Jul 1, 2014
Pros: I liked that it was near the beach without beach noise and traffic
Cons: The rooms are just fine for sleeping or watching TV. Not a lot of extra space which is fine if you do not plan to spend much time in your room
Location: near the beach and can walk to Ipanema easily.
Hotel is a very accessable to beach and main street in Copacabana. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The morning buffet breakfast is very complete and tasty. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice get away, it is not a large hotel nor very spacious yet the rooms and hallways are clean, the rooms are updated, airconditioning works well and noise to street is minimum due to good window insulation. A very pleasant stay all around

Close to beach, breakfast excellent.

Pros: Location was good and staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
Cons: Mattresses could be updated to pillow top comfort.
Location: Beach 1/2 block walk away. Shopping nearby, grills and coffee shops and church.
Very courteous and helpful front desk. Plenty of hot water and air conditioning wonderful. Could have used change of sheets mid vacation, but we did not request it so it did not happen. Everyone was very friendly and seemed to want to serve you eagerly. The bed was a little uncomfortable and could use a pillow top to soften the mattress. Overall excellent staff and enjoyed our stay there.

Great staff, simple room decor

Posted Jun 11, 2014
Pros: Close to Copacabbana beach.
Cons: They do not provide face cloths and we had to continually ask for extra hand towels as a substitute.
Location: World famous beach with nightlife, ATM's, souveniers and many eating options nearby. Sindicato do Chopp was our favourite (ask for Aldie [Allgee])!
All staff were excellent and helpful (Felipe's English is superb) and there are doormen and baggage handlers. Hotel "shuttle" to/from is pricier than a cab but worth the comfort, safety and convenience. Rated a 3 star by locals, breakfast food, service and ambience is superior to any North American chain I have stayed in. Based on 1 experience, I don't recommend the restaurant for lunch or dinner due to food quality vs. price. Room decor is simple, with granite everywhere in bathrooms and hallways. Elevators are tiny and the large one was tempermental throughout our stay. The rooftop pool was cool but clean and is situated in a relaxing setting with tables and a bar area (we were not up there when the bar was open).

Re my title apologies to Peter Allen a wonderful Australian This was my first trip to Rio and was only for 36 hours as it was a stopover at the conclusion of an extensive trip through Argentine and Brazil. We loved Rio from the start and this was due to the reception we received on arrival at the Windsor Martinique Hotel. We had approached Rio with some caution in relation to real or perceived dangers and did not know what to expect however our experience at the Windsor Martinique was excellent From the porters who were SO welcoming and helpful ,the concierge service which was excellent and extremely helpful in giving us advice to see the "sights "

We got what we wanted

Posted May 20, 2014
The hotel was clean with excellent staff and customer service. Our room was very small and did not have a view, but we weren't in the room much as it was so close to the beach.
