If you are looking for a B&B in Yorkshire, England, you cannot do much better than staying at The Moorhouse. While The Moorhouse is a bit off the beaten path, it is part of what gives this B&B its charm. The rooms are lovely, the setting very English, and the hostess warm and friendly. We had a great night, a wonderful breakfast and overall, a very pleasant stay.

Idylic locationPosted Jul 13, 2014 on Hotels.com
The welcome from Jane was as if being at home. The accommodation was over and above expectation, with homely atmosphere and surroundings. I can honestly say the I would recommend "Moorhouse" to anyone without fear of being let down.

Superb setting for such a hotel on a grouse moorPosted Jun 2, 2014
Pros: The welcome lived up to its promise of a well run and genuinely caring attitude towards its guests where no request seemed too much trouble.
Cons: No complaints or criticisms at all
Location: Situated by a grouse moor so really tucked away and quiet in stunning scenery but near enough for Ripon and Fountains Abbey.
Soon after I had booked accommodation an email arrived from the Hostess with three different sets of directions just in case Satnav did not do the job properly for us, together with a welcoming brief which made a very good impression. On arrival we were warmly welcomed and provided with delicious sandwiches and cake in the beautifully furnished and warm lounge before going to our well appointed room. The beds were super comfortable with soft pillows and the room was great for the evening sunshine. The garden was immaculately kept and a suntrap. The breakfast menu was so extensive it was hard to choose from delicious fresh fruit to full English with all possible variations! We wished we had stayed longer and would certainly like to stay there again in such a homely but smart, well kept and well run establishment.

High quality accommodation in gorgeous settingPosted May 19, 2014
Pros: Location, hospitality, cleanliness and welcome.
Cons: No much to comment on.
Location: Well placed for Masham, Ripon and various local country-side attractions, including some lovely pubs and restaurants.
We had a wonderful experience at the Moorhouse when we stayed for a Saturday night following a day at Thirsk races. Our greeting was very welcoming and we were served a nice cup of tea and cake in a very comfortable lounge. Our bedroom was home from home, very tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable. The views across the moors are stunning and the sheer tranquility was fully appreciated. There are a number of local pubs within a few miles where evening meals can be taken. We settled for the Queens Head which had a small Indian restaurant attached offering good meals at reasonable prices. Breakfast at the Moorhouse is an event in itself and we were treated to a hearty fare that lasted us all day long. All in all a really great value b&b in a stunning location. Highly recommended for a peaceful stay.

A little gem in beautiful North Yorkshire.Posted Jun 3, 2013
Pros: Welcome, breakfast, comfort.
Location: Deep in the countryside, on the edge of a grouse moor.
An extremely well appointed guest house, in the grouse shooting area of Dallowgill. The hostess is welcoming and treats each guest royally. The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed. The silver award for Breakfast is well-earned. The pub next door has burnt down, but the recommended pubs in the area offer a variety of excellent food. Handy for Fountains Abbey, Masham and the Dales. We look forward to our next visit. PS the postcode took our satnav to the front door (google maps was too vague)

Lækkert indrettet B&B i smukke omgivelserPosted Jul 19, 2012 on Hotels.com

Moorhouse-- a gem in an unusual setting.Posted Jun 12, 2012
WE were very pleased with our two night stay.-- the accommodations, cleanliness, staff, building facilities, and atmosphere of the area. We only had breakfasts but there was a variety and the cooked orders were done to ones individual tastes and request. The views from our room were relaxing and better than anticipated. The only suggestion would be: have a good map or instructions on how to get there to prevent wandering around on country roads.
