Centrally located in pretty Riquewihr

Posted Aug 17, 2014
Ideal location inside the city walls, with private hotel car parking next to it for 4 euros per day. Room was clean but at the top (4th floor) of a spiral stone staircase, which some people might have difficulties with. Since our room was on the top floor, the ceiling in the bathroom was slanted, which made showering a little awkward without hitting your head. Having said that, we had a pleasant stay and enjoyed the bar on site.

Feel Alsatian history

Posted Jul 3, 2014
The property dates back to 16th Century. Not surprisingly, there is no elevator, but if you want to experience staying in the genuine historical property, this is the place. The hotel is in the middle of the old town, and you may feel scared to drive through all the tourists in narrow streets, but they have a big parking space in the back, so don't worry. The reception is at the bar next door. It's a different experience but special, and personally, I liked it.

Magical location

Stunning location in an amazing medieval village. Great breakfast. The room was at the very top of a spiral staircase which kept us fit! Unfortunately the bathroom ceiling was low and sloping making it difficult to shower. An air-conditioning unit kept the temperature acceptable even when it reached 38 deg outside.Ample car-parking was a real bonus in a traffic free village.

Amazingly charming hotel

Posted Jul 31, 2013 on Hotels.com
We loved the old stone spiral staircase in this medieval building. Felt like we were staying in a castle with exposed timbers. The rooms were clean and spacious, but like most older hotels had no air conditioning. And, the spiral staircase also meant lots of climbing. This hotel wouldn't be for everyone, but we loved the experience. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Great hotel for an overnight stop

Posted Jun 26, 2013
Pros: Position and ambiance
Cons: No evening meal and bedroom a little dark for me.
Location: Centre of town. Perfect for. Exploring this delightful location.
I have now used this hotel 3times as an overnight stop and find it satisfactory for my purpose. The situation in the centre of Riquewihr is perfect especially since it has a large car park. Breakfast is adequate and the many restaurants nearbye mean. That. You do not have to go far for an excellent dinner. The staff are helpful and ready to give advice on where to eat. Medieval type building with spiral tower like staircase leading bedrooms.

Hotel with a lot of Character - Recommended

Posted May 14, 2013
Pros: The experience of staying in an ancient building with a lot of character.
Location: Lots of restaurants walking, wine tasting. Walk north look for the small break in the stone wall where you'll be able to walk into vineyards.
This hotel is housed in a centuries old building in the very center of this picturesque town. Our room was large and nicely decorated with antique furnishings. I am sure all the room sizes will vary. Everything was clean and in perfect repair. Bathroom and facilities were modern and appear the have been recently updated. The staff was amazing and went our of their way to assist us with an unusual requests. Keep in mind that this is not a Holiday Inn - This hotel has all the modern styling you would expect in any hotel built in the middle ages :) . Lots of character: The walls are solid rock, the spiral stone staircase shows the patina from centuries of use, and the floors are anything but level. You'll have to drive through the narrow streets and walkways of this town to get to the hotel - Trust the GPS, it's correct. The parking lot is in the enclosed courtyard next to the hotel - it's obvious. It's an experience you'll remember for a long time.
