Nice hotel close to everything in downtown SaigonPosted Feb 23, 2015
We travel to Saigon very often; this time we stayed three nights at The Grand Saigon Hotel. It turned out this is the best hotel so far for us. You will be happy if you stay here.

Cons: service, staff responsiveness, rooms
That's about all I can say. This was our most expensive accommodation option while in Vietnam and we expected a great end to our holiday. Staff were very unresponsive, too busy to lift there heads at the reception desk to say hi or to notice our arrival. Far too busy to offer to take our bags to our room - we did it our self even though it was a long way. The room we had booked was a two bedroom suite - it was in the antique wing the living area, one bedroom and the bathroom had no windows so it was a bit like a closed box with no external views for what we paid we expected more. Every time we asked for directions/information/can you confirm our flights it was all too hard and it was always put back on us to find the solution. When we checked out there was no offer to collect our bags or help us get a cab to the airport. Overall all these things matter more than location and for these reasons I would not stay there again.

Cons: Bit dated, but cannot be helped.
Location: Lots! Jaspers coffee across the road awesome!
Brief stay, but good location, & clean. Happy with choice, stayed also in the continental, the grand is much much better.

Great hotel in the heart of District 1Posted Jan 23, 2015
Great hotel central to everything and far enough away from the underground rail works to not notice them. Recommend highly

Good hotel, central locationPosted Jan 9, 2015
Pros: It was very clean!
Cons: Please change the hairdryers to modern ones! The music choice at breakfast could be better and more relaxing.
Location: The hotel is located on the main shopping street, close to main attractions, the shopping market, and restaurants.
The hotel is located on the main shopping street, close to main attractions, the shopping market, and restaurants. We had a double room with very nice bathroom with both shower and bathtub. It was very well organized, we had fresh fruit and bathrobes, although the hairdryer was one of the worst I have ever used. You actually have to press a button (very hard) to operate it, and it was very weak so drying my hair was a long and painful process. Other than that the room and bathroom were very spacious, clean and well organized. Breakfast was nice, with a good mix of continental and local choices. There was an omelet and eggs section, pho-soup, local fruit, cheese, bread and toast, sweet rolls, croissants etc. There was an interesting and big section with local things such as fried rice, local vegetables, dim-sum and many other things. Reception was efficient and friendly enough, but we sometimes had small problems with English, especially when there were trainees around. They were helpful and open to our requests, such as keeping our bags for four days when we were traveling in the Delta.
