Big, get lost in vacation!

Posted Aug 28, 2014
Pros: Relaxing at the pools and beach. Hopping to the other 4 areas.
Cons: The mattresses were extremely hard.
Location: SCUBA too expensive for those trying to discover diving. Tulum was interesting..take snacks and drinks if you leave the resort or you will PAY!
Great food, great fun. Loved snorkeling. Kids loved the dolphins and pools.

Very large family friendly resort

Posted Aug 26, 2014
Pros: - Free Hobbie Sail Boats - Free intro to scuba class - Free kayak rentals - Free Windsurfing class and rentals - Free paddle boats (didn't use)
Cons: - Food quality at buffet, selection was great and food wasn't bad but could be better. Flavors weren't varied enough among different cuisines.
Location: - There are a lot of activities to do out side the resort but we didn't leave. To consider XPLOR, Xel Ha, various Cenotes, and various ruins.
Great for kids. We traveled with 5 families with kids between 2-10. It was a great all inclusive resort.

Beautiful hotel with wonderful amenities!

We recently returned from our stay at Barcelo Maya Palace Deluxe and we were blown away. The pictures on the website do not do the resort justice. The rooms were beautiful and very large, the food was great and the pools and beaches were phenomenal! You feel like you have landed in paradise. The staff was extremely attentive and we did not want for anything. My son celebrated his birthday while we were there and the staff made a huge deal over him and treated him like a prince. My kids didn't want to leave! We will definitely return for our next vacation in Mexico.

Beautiful resort for family

Posted Aug 16, 2014
It is a beautiful hotel without live entertainment it is missing dancing floor/ lounge where after all the eating we could dance by the way the discoteque jaguar is such a sad place the management could use such a gorgeous pool area and beach for the night dancing I stayed in many different places and this hotel is the most beautiful resort but its is very sad without music by the way the piano in the lobby bar could be more lively and this area could be used to dance I stayed with the group of my friends we all live in N.Y. we are between 40-45 years old and we felt like 70 only coz there were no dancing please use some of the live band the hotel guests were pretty young people and travel to Cancun for entertainment it is a little out of the way especially if you pay $$$ for this resort also the meat quality like the ones in the restaurant especially beef could be better grade it was never cooked the way I liked and always overcooked and cold but I give 5* for the Buffett food very good

Nice, but we won't return

Posted Aug 6, 2014
Pros: The snorkeling off the beach.
Cons: Bars and pools that stay open later for adults. Food cart available by pool/beach.
Nice resort but a LOT of kids, many very young. A huge negative to us was that there was no place to get any food when at the beach or pool without putting on shoes and shirts. You can't walk up to a food cart or an outdoor grill to get something to eat because there are none and none of the restaurants will allow you to bring anything outside, including on the patio right outside their door. One in our group tried to bring a hot dog outside in a paper napkin and was told No. I could not bring a plate outside on the patio about 4 feet from the door so those in our party could have something to eat right after a snorkel excursion when they didn't have shoes and shirts. The pools, ocean and bars close way too early....7 to 8 pm. We felt like they only catered to the families with small children and if you didn't have kids, there was not much to do after everything shut down. My husband started calling this the resort of No because we were told No so many times. The best thing about this resort was the snorkeling right off the beach. Bring your own snorkel equipment because we never saw any at the resort to use. They had it for sale in their shops but it was very expensive. This was our 6th trip to the Riviera Maya area of Mexico and we will not return to this resort.
