Not so paradise.

Very minimalistic room. The mattress was hard as a rock. We had a room that was on the back of the hotel and across the vacant lot was a nice looking building during the day. At dark the red lights come on glowing the building and at 9pm the music starts and lasts all night. Blaring loud thumping music. I guess it was the "red light district". The air conditioner does not drown it out. I complained to the front desk and nothing. They act like they do not understand english all of a sudden. It was in the middle of everything thou. The internet only is accessible from the area of the front desk.

Good hotel for a few days in Playa
Posted Jan 29, 2012
Pros: Location
Cons: Noisy room (bank of AC compressors outside window)
Location: Well located in downtown Play Del Carmen. On main street, close to beach and eateries.
Good central location. Had standard room which faced rear of hotel and had a lot of airconditioning compressors. Good value for money. Nice pool on roof terrace. Coffee shop and eateries close by. Not far from the beach.

Great location, and friendly hotel!

It is a nice hotel, well located; restaurants, stores, pharmacies nearby, safe and right at the 5th avenue, close to discotheques, and other places! Very good rate!

Great place to stay for a quiet getaway!!
Posted Jan 15, 2012
Pros: Quiet pool
Cons: Hard Bed
Location: Central and everything needed around.
The hotel was lovely and quiet (not busy), staff were very helpful and spoke good english. The only down side was the excessive noise if at the back of the hotel looking onto the buliding work and bar. The bed was very hard and two other rooms the same, so be warned about that. The TV was good and balcony lovely too. Dont listen to what people say it is a lovely place to stay. Would definetly stay again. Only issue i had when booking with Expedia was that i chose a standard room with balcony and wireless and upon check-in, no standard rooms have those facilities, so emailed Expedia to complain and the same day a few hours later they called me on my english phone to say to upgrade to Deluxe Room and they would re-imburse my money. They did within a few hours! Amazing Service. Thank you Robin!!!

Great location but no frills.

Quite clean, friendly staff, right in the heart of the tourist zone of Playa del Carmen. Included breakfast at the cafe across the street was good, and cafe below the hotel was superb. However, the rooms were rather primitive - noisy old (but quite effective) air conditioner, no clock radio or phone to contact the front desk. No amenities such as shampoo - only a very sweet smelling liquid soap like in a school washroom. Tourist zone is lively and fun but quite noisy for sleeping - construction currently going on across the street, with one instance of loud all-night work whle they were pouring concrete.

Budget, indeed.

No questions about it, this place is very budget. The pictures posted look nice, but once you dig in a little deeper, you'll see it's not quite so. I've stayed in a cheap hotel further down off of 8th, and at least they provided travel soap, shampoo, lotions, etc. You're on you own for "extras." WiFi can be iffy as well. The employees were very nice, and they did service the room everyday. Also the location is great and has a coffee/chocolate place right out the front door. They look to be building a taco joint next to that, as well. Overall, if you won't be in the room much, and if you don't mind little to no water pressure, go for it. If you have a little extra to spend, I'd keep looking.

Necesito escribir en Ingles

Air conditioning was pre-set and seemed to start and quit randomly. We couldn't check in when we arrived because the clerk was talking to his girlfriend on the phone, and I couldn't use the bathroom in the lobby because we weren't guests. One guy shut the door in my face and walked away when I asked. When I walked into an adjacent office he told me the bathrooms were for guests and I said (thankfully I have some Spanish!) that I would be a guest if the clerk would get off the phone! He went to the front desk and got several key cards, none of which would work, while I was practically dancing around. Finally he let me into the men's room to take care of - um - business.

Great 5th street location
Posted Jan 27, 2011
Hotel was comfortable but no refridg made it hard to keep any kind of food or drinks in the room. Great location on 5th ave but be ready for a little music from the bars on the street until 12 or 1 am.
