MARKOS WAS HERE

Posted Dec 31, 2014
Pros: THE LAYOUT , NICE JUNGLE WALK TO THE POOL/BEACH AREA , QUIET , NO KIDS , MANY PEOPLE FROM EUROPE AND ALL WERE VERY NICE EXCEPT FOR A CERTAIN GROUP
Cons: THE BEDS , GIVE THE BETTER LIQUOR TO ALL "PRIVILEGED PEOPLE"
Location: ITS A GREAT LOACTION , NO OTHER MAJOR RESORTS AROUND , EXPLOR / XCARET , TULUM ARE VERY CLOSE BY
IT WAS A REALLY NICE PLACE , THE JUNGLE WALK TO THE POOL WAS NICE , A LITTLE FAR THOUGH. FOOD WAS GOOD , THE XMAS EVE BUFFET WAS GREAT , REALLY GREAT.THE DRINKS WERE JUST OK , YOU HAD TO PAY FOR THE BETTER QUALITY LIQUOR. THE BEACH WAS VERY NICE,NO ROCKS , NO OTHER BIG HOTELS AROUND SO IT WAS NOT TOO CROWDED,AND NOT MANY VENDORS HARRASING YOU , LOTS OF PALM TREES , LOTS OF CHAIRS . THE SPA WAS VERY GOOD . THE ROOM WAS OK , WE UPGRADED TO PRIVILEGED, BUT NOT QUITE WORTH IT.BED WAS KIND OF OLD, AND YOU COULD HEAR THE PEOPLE NEXT DOOR. OVER ALL I RECOMMEND CATALONIA.

Nice beach, calm and very clean sea

Posted Dec 17, 2014
Pros: Calm, clear water - excellent for recreational swimming. Nice, clean, wide, long beach. Pleasant multinational atmosphere.
Cons: Better control of sewer smell coming to the lobby and by the room, from the outside. More lounges on the beach.
Location: Relatively secluded location was actually attractive to us because at that time we were not interested in things to do outside.
We (my wife and I) visited this hotel Dec. 7-13, 2014. Overall we are very satisfied, especially with very clean water in the ocean; wide, long and clean beach. As you may guess, our interest was in the sunbathing, swimming in the ocean and walking on the beach and all of those were one of the best. Shortage of lounges on a busy day, typically every day. Every evening the beach towels were replaced in the room with fresh ones - no towel stand or towel cards. Room was on the first floor and dark, but greenery around was nice, after all, this is a jungle. Daily shows were surprisingly very good, with exception of one segment. Food was good and all restaurants with white cloths on tables. Restaurant service generally very good and pleasant - there were few exceptions, especially one waiter who served american style - unacceptable. Unless you want to belong to worthless repetitive hotel user club - maybe a little better form of timeshare, but still worthless, stay away from wasting about 3 hours presentation, for which they offer worthless coupons. We try to stay in different places every time we go to Mexico, but if we had to repeat any, this will be the place.

Very Nice Stay!

Posted Dec 15, 2014
My wife and I enjoyed our five days at Catalonia Royal Tulum. It is a little bit of a drive from the airport in Cancun, but, it was worth it. This is a smaller resort with a very hard working staff. The food and service were fine. You don't have to wait or make reservations for any of the restaurants. The entertainment was better than I expected and always enthusiastic. This resort is also very eco-friendly. Coatimundis, birds, agouti and iguanas can be seen daily, roaming the forest areas, adjacent to the main resort path. If you are looking for a smaller, slower pace in Riveria Maya, you may want to consider Catalonia Royal Tulum.

Nice getaway

Posted Dec 9, 2014
Pros: The beach & pool very nice & clean.
Cons: UPDATE THE ROOMS.
Location: NOT A THING CLOSE.
the ride to the hotel is far away from airport. Picked up 4 hours before your flight back home, you need it. Not for people that don't like to walk to pool, ocean or lobby. Avg. food. Only two bars to go to. (pool bar or lobby bar) But still had a great time. .

nice beach

Posted Dec 8, 2014
Been going to Catalonia hotels for awhile, but this is not my favorite ! The beach is great but could not get a chair unless you got up at 6:00am, same for pool! The grounds are jungle and swampy, therefore stinky! Pathways are stone and rickety bridges, so ladies don't wear high heels! Food and drinks are great but service is slow so order 2 at a time. Not much night life at all! No kids was great but to many other things was issues for me to return again.. Catalonia Maroma will be my pick!

The resort is very nice. The staff is friendly and professional. The beach is amazing. They have a good variety of food choice. There is a lot of animation so it's being positive or negative depends if a person likes it or not. Few problems: the room is not very clean and the cleaning ladies leave the door open when they clean, the result: various insects and lizards come inside the room. Also there are too few chairs on the beach so it's better to wake up not too late in order to get them.

The mosquitoes ate me alive. The front desk personnel need more training on customer service and organization. They have to get rid of that swamp. The food was excellent. The servers were wonderful.

Una muy agradable experiencia

Posted Nov 18, 2014
