Unbelievable!Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: Service was excellent! The Casitas Suites is the way to go. You can also get your own butler service! Food was unbelievable in EVERY Restaurant!
Cons: Honestly the only thing I can think of is instead of having an infinity pool on our deck, to have a hot tub. I think I would have used it more.
Location: Never left the resort, didn't feel the need to!
Absolutely worth the every penny! Loved it! Stayed 4/9/14 - 4/13/14, was not long enough. My husband and I are 38-45 yrs old and have been to many wonderful all-inclusive resorts in Mexico, Jamaica, and the Bahamas but the El Dorado Royale Casitas Suites was by far the best and we will certainly go back! We had the best food you could ever get at an All-Inclusive Resort. Every night we went to a different restaurant and received nothing but the best service and cuisine. We stayed in 2nd level due to it having an infinity pool....Yes, a pool of your own right outside your door! Not all of the buildings have infinity pools on the 2nd floor, the 2 furthest North buildings do. I'm not sure if I am supposed to say this or not, but we got lucky, for once really lucky! Reason is, we booked with Expedia on 2/17/14 and somehow we got the best section for what we found out was a crazy good price. I'm not sure if I'm able to say how much but the other guests in our section were all "members only" and they couldn't believe it was booked through Expedia. No one else in the resort was able to use our amenities like the swim up pool bar. butler service, and beach access so that made it less crowded and great service. Our room was by far the best I have ever stayed. Very spacious, great view, and very CLEAN! Did I tell you about the outdoor shower? I can go on and on, trust me, it's worth every penny!

Pros: We liked everything about the hotel, food, room, pool, service, beach and even other people. This was our second visit to this hotel and we loved it.
Location: Shopping at Playa del Carmen is always fun. We really just enjoyed being at the resort and relaxing.
This trip was everything I expected it to be. Excellent resort with great food, great beaches, great pools, great bars and great service. This is a beautiful resort with everything necessary to have a completely relaxing and enjoyable vacation.

We visit each March and truly fall back in love each year with this property! I have reviewed this property multiple times and am always impressed that each time we return something is better than it was the year before! See you next spring el dorado!

Very private, Gourmet all inc ResortPosted Mar 17, 2014
Pros: Food was amazing and all A La Carte. super private Casitas rooms/areas. Private pool and bar. Staff amazingly friendly. A quiet adults only resort
Cons: We honestly couldnt fault a thing with this place!
Location: Location was great. not too far a drive from Cancun. Close to Playa Del Carmen. Plenty of day excursions to do in the surrounding area.
We stayed at El Dorado Royale for 8 nights for our honey moon. We stayed in a swim up Casitas suite. and were upgraded rooms. We were also given a complimentary honeymoon package (remember to bring your marriage cert for this). The honeymoon package got us a free massage, candle light dinner on the beach, a romantic breakfast in bed and also free wifi for the duration of our trip. The resort is rather spread out along the beach which means the casitas areas are super private. You have your own pool and bar area. As well as concierge and pool boy. It was exactly what we were looking for on our honeymoon. The casitas swim up room was spacious and very tidy. With a large jacuzzi tub and a outdoor shower which we used almost every day. All the 9 restaurants are a la carte with great food. Its called gourmet inclusive which was just amazing. We are like kings during our stay. There is a perfect amount of different restaurants so we basically ate at a different place every day/night during our 8 night stay. All the staff were very friendly and it all made for the perfect honeymoon that we couldn't fault in any way. Highly recommended.

Excellent with a few butsPosted Mar 3, 2014 on Hotels.com
Nice Hotel, good food quality, all-inclusive food service is very slow, the "free" shuttle service to Cancun drops you in an overpriced mall in the middle of nowhere, Front desk tried to sell us the next better room for 35% more per night and was pushy at it. Overall it is a very nice place but if they really like their customers they should avoid some of the annoyances.

Fantastico Floaty 40 FiestaPosted Feb 20, 2014
Pros: Santa Fe Grill, Kampai & D'Italia Casitas were favorite for dinner & Cocotal's was hubby's fave for breakfast. Room service was very good.
Location: We never made it off the resort!
Hubby & I celebrated my b*day w/ 5 nights in an infinity pool swim-up casita & it was all that I had hoped for & more. With 5 kids at home, we were looking forward to a relaxing vacay filled with him lounging on the patio bed, me on my favorite kind of floaty(bring your own!) in the pool by him, and occasional field trips down the lazy river to the swim-up bar, along with some quality hammock & palapa time on the beach(& great drinks brought by the wonderful Daisy). By the 2nd day, we were spending our afternoons w/ new friends at the swim-up bar & enjoying our time with the very thoughtful Alvero (& his yummy drinks). We met our most excellent concierges, Claudia & Karen, the 1st morning & had all our reservations, pillow & aromatherapy choices taken care of, as well as wishing me a happy birthday, which they TOTALLY delivered!!! These ladies were helpful with everything we brought up during our trip. My actual birthday was so special, w/ housekeeping making me a beautiful flower & towel art cake, a bottle of champagne & b*day card delivered in the afternoon, D'Italia Casitas staff singing happy birthday with a little cake & candle & "happy birthday" in chocolate syrup, & another cake towel-art & rose pedals when we returned to our turned-down room. As I'm starting to run out of room, I'll just say if you're thinking of going, do it!!

Most beautiful place everPosted Feb 17, 2014
My new wife and I loved El Dorado Casitas. We went there on our honeymoon, and it was worth every penny. The staff was extremely nice, especially our concierge, Luis, and our pool bartender, Victor. We can't wait to go back in the future!

Excellent resort and a wonderful experience.Posted Jan 20, 2014
Pros: The food is amazing and the staff goes above and beyond to take care of you.
Cons: The language barrier can sometimes be a little frustrating....but overall it's not a major problem.
Location: The location is great and it's only about 25 minutes from cancun airport. We took a tour to Coba and climbed a mayan pyramid. It was amazing
We felt like we were in paradise from the moment we stepped on the property.
