“Couldn't have asked for anything better”

The condo was beautiful and very comfortable -- it felt like a home. Our favorite feature was the AMAZING view that we got from the balcony (stylish pool of the hotel, the beach, and the Caribbean sea). Second favorite feature that we really took advantage of the private jacuzzi on the pretty spacious balcony. It's a great way to be dipped in the water in the middle of a really hot day, under a shade. Note that since the condos seemed a bit different, I'm not sure if all had the jacuzzi outside. The location is great! It's right by the beach and also right in the shopping and restaurant area in the middle of Playa del Carmen. Even though it's in the middle of everything, it was very quiet in the hotel. The only thing that bothered us during our stay was the AC in the bedroom. When it was on, it was running the entire night and we got really cold so we had to wake up and turn it off, but then it would get pretty hot. We don't know if there was a setting to make is so that the unit controls the temperature automatically. We never asked, but maybe it was possible. Other than that, we couldn't have asked for anything more or anything different. It was just perfect!

“Playa's best hidden secret”

My wife and I spent one week of bliss at this wonderful place with its wonderful beach and ocean views. El faro is set on the best portion of the beach, the service all around was 5 star. The pool is fantastic and Wicky restaurant is top notch. the property has easy access to the best section of 5th ave only 1.5 blocks away.. Can't wait to go back again with family and friends. My standards are high, I cant understand a few bad reviews I've seen online. Bravo to the staff of Encanto el faro. Thank you Sylvia and front desk staff.

“Beautiful!!!”

Just got back from a 4 night stay at El Faro. I was very nervous after reading reviews that said security was rude and no potable water ect. We found quite the opposite to be true. They had a large filtered water dispenser (hot or cold) as well as a dispenser at the sink. Our 2 bedroom also included a working washer and dryer. Housekeeping came every day and even did the dishes. Check in did include taking inventory of the room but I appreciate the many beautiful decorations that could easily slip into someone's suitcase if they did not. I wasn't crazy about Wicky's music but it was not loud enough to disrupt us. Over all it is a beautiful property in a convenient and beautiful location run by friendly and helpful staff.

I was looking forward to a relaxing vacation where I could be pampered and that is what I got. From the gorgeous beach view to the massage pool side while listening to live music.

This hotel is just as beautiful as it looks in the pictures they provide. The room was huge (we got 2 bedroom room with full kitchen). It was very sufficiently stocked with everything we could possibly need, including 2 ipod docks, DVDs, books, and lots of kitchen supplies. It was very clean. Filtered water was provided. The balcony view was awesome and there was a table with chairs and a coffee table with couches on the balcony. The pool was awesome and the beach was very close by and easily seen from our balcony. The area was great; lots of local culture and exploring to do by foot. I loved the hotel and the area and would recommend it 100%.

“Beautiful hotel and great location.”

The hotel is really individual condos. They are brand new and beautifully decorated. Our room had two bedrooms and bathrooms, a living room, dining room and kitchen. It even comes with a washer and dryer and a water cooler. It was perfect for a family. Every condo has a patio with a view of the pool and ocean. The beach is beautiful and the hotel staff very nice. The location is perfect. It was on the beach yet one block off of 5th Avenue which is the main drag. 5th Avenue is closed to cars and has wonderful restaurants and shopping. The hotel is new and there were times that no one was at the front desk. They also had an issue with housekeeping. They relied on the guest to tell them when they needed the room cleaned. Maybe that was because it was a condo. When the maids did come to your room they did a wonderful job. The concierge was very helpful. Eat dinner at La Parrilla on 5th Ave. Great food and reasonably priced. aLux is a restaurant in a cavern and very cool. My kids loved it. It is a short taxi ride. Make sure you take a tour and see the small rooms in the cavern. Wicky's restaurant at the hotel is very good. I highly recommend Yuca Trek Tours. We took the tour to Tulum and it was great. We saw the ruins, snorkeled in a cenote and had lunch under palm frawns on a private beach. It was like out of a movie. Bring pesos. Not all places are good with exchanging US currency. We felt very safe the entire trip.

“Location, location, location!”

Lovely facility right on the beach. Always an umbrella handy and a waiter nearby. Short walk to Avenida 5 and a myriad of restaurants and shops. Great central location for all the Riviera Maya excursions, and if you are a diver this is ground zero!

“Impressed, almost perfect !!!”

El Faro Condos are a great place to stay. I will start off with the negatives, but they are few. 1.) Had an issue with the cleaning staff - it was resolved, so no big deal. 2.) No curtains or very shear curtains in main bedroom. If you do not like to get up at 6:30 AM - this could be a problem - it did not bother us too much, but I may have slept in a day or two if the room had been darker. If I were to go back, I think I would ask for a blanket to be spread across the slider glass window @ night time (or all the time). 3). Wickey's (the beach club of the hotel) should have an outside small palapa type bar in the sand. Wickey's has a beautiful restuarant & BAR INSIDE, but an outside one to add would be perfect. The Positives are : This is a perfect location hotel 10th & Beach. It is amongst all the beach clubs, yet it is not noisy - particularly at bed time. Clean modern rooms, with all the amenities. Wonderful beach views from all the condos. Excellent beach front pool. Nice daily backround music and sometimes a band or two. They setup a stage for July 4th and two bands when we were there, a wonderful experience. Cocktails in the pool 5- 25 feet away listening to good rock music. This hotel/condo is just about perfect. Clean, comfortable, roomy, beachfront, pool, beach club attached and the beat location. What else can you ask for. Other pluses for the condo is you can bring your own small cooler down to pool/beach and drink cans of soda or beer saving big $$$ a day.
