Couples GetawayPosted Mar 11, 2014
Pros: Room service is available 24 hours a day and is included. We also really liked the dining options, and various activities available to guests.
Location: The small fishing city Pto. Morelos is a nice walk down the beach away and provides ecellent snorkeling opportunities.
We had a wonderful experience at this resort!! The beautiful beaches were paired with meandering pools providing water access to all the guests with opportunities for privacy and community. Staff was both friendly and respectful, always looking for ways to make our stay better. On our last day we were still discovering areas of this thoughtfully planned out resort. We will be going back again!

Relaxing All-Inclusive VacationPosted Mar 8, 2014
Pros: Loved our room, loved the restaurants, loved the location (close to the airport), loved the service
Cons: The mattress was extremely hard for my taste. Also, allowing groups of more than 4 to sit together at dinner would have been nice.
Location: We had a wonderful snorkeling day excursion with Juan Magana of Aventuras Mayas -- definitely would recommend. Great tour guide of the area!
The entire stay was wonderful, from the champagne and cold towel check-in, to the friendly staff doing everything they can to make our stay perfect to the beautiful grounds and top notch food and alcohol. This vacation will be tough to beat! Definitely worth what we paid for it....our only complaint was that we didn't stay longer than a week!

Great facilities, staff, food & weather!Posted Mar 7, 2014
Pros: Staff, rooms, beach, pools, restaurants, rooms (for the most part) & drinks. The "adults only" parts was also great (we love kids, but not on vaca).
Cons: The attitude of the concierges - sometimes it was as if you were a bother to them if you had any requests. Also, the safe in our room was a problem.
My wife and I had a(nother) great experience with 8 of our closest friends (our second time at Excellence, their first). The weather was sunny and between 83-87F each of the seven days we were there. It was just a very relaxing atmosphere.

Great hotel, beach & poolsPosted Mar 2, 2014
Pros: Most notable was the exceptional service staff. Everyone was extremely helpful, friendly and genuinely concerned with providing exceptional service.
Cons: The all-inclusive wine selection was not very extensive. And most all the restaurants were not willing to accommodate our group of 8 or 10.
Location: About a 30 minute drive from the airport and there are lots of excursions to go on, if you want to.
We had a great time relaxing at the resort pool and beach and also enjoyed the spa services. We went on one snorkeling excursion which was a great day trip that we arranged through the concierge with Aventuras Mayas Tours. It was a full day of great fun! Juan Magana is the best tour guide ever!

Excellence is truly Excellence!Posted Feb 27, 2014
Pros: Service and Elegance
Cons: A better "authentic" Mexican cuisine restaurant
My wife and I traveled to Excellence for our Honeymoon and could not have selected a better resort. The service was second to none, every employee that we encountered was polite, courteous, and wanted to assist you in anyway possible. The food was more than we expected, it was delicious, most notably "The Lobster House" and "Chez Isabelle". There were several daily entertainment activities for adults of all ages, our favorite was pool volleyball! We would recommend this resort to anyone, you will not be disappointed.

Its hard to beat the best.Posted Feb 26, 2014
We have stayed at multiple places in the Riviera Maya area and this resort tops them all. I go on vacation to relax in peace, have a few drinks, eat good food, and get a tan. We could not have found a more perfect place to accomplish those things. I usually will not go back to the same resort because I like to keep searching for a better resort to try to top the previous vacations. I don't know that I will do that next year because I think that I have found near perfection here. Our room was the farthest from the beach, yet the resort was perfect in size so the walk was still short to get there. If you feel crowded at the beach, the resort loaded with enough relaxing chairs around the lazy river to find your seclusion spot. - There is nothing worse that people that go on vacation to be loud, drunk, and annoying. I can't say that I ran across any of those people at this resort. The food was excellent, from the breakfast and lunch buffet, if you so choose, to the restaurants, to the room service. The rooms were very clean and very nice. The only thing that could be a little better was the bedding. The drinks were very good, with better name alcohol brands. The resort was beautiful, spotless, and well taken care of. If you want to shop a little, there are shops at the resort, but for a better experience you can take a 40 minute relaxing walk on the beach to Puerto Morelos. It is not the tourist trap that Playa del Carmen has become.
