Pleasant Stay

Posted Nov 13, 2014
This is a good hotel with good facilities. Getting sun beds is no problem even when busy. Staff very friendly and lots of things to do. Restaurants can get busy and you may have to wait for a table up to an hour but they do give you a bleeper so you can go to a bar and have a few drinks while you wait. Tipping is expected here and you feel awkward if you don't but they do say everything is included even tips. On the whole I definitely would go back

Best hotel I've ever stayed at. 3rd time here.

Posted Nov 10, 2014
This is my 3rd time to Excellence. I love this place. Perfect location. Hotel staff are fantastic, say hello to Gustavo in the Conceirge dept for me. You can't go wrong at any of the restuarants they are all fantastic. Bars are very where and staff at the pools and beach are great. We did the bike ride with the hotel staff in to Puerto Morales, that was a lot of fun. The rooms are very nice and clean. The spa is the best and I would highly recommend it. Will be back.

Great place. Probably the best in Cancun

Posted Nov 7, 2014
Pros: The staff, the newsletter, the daily activities, the lunch buffet
Cons: The lloatie situation got hairy at times and it seems like they were always out of brown pool towels by 2pm
Walk in to the hotel and you are greeted by staff with sparkling wine they will give you a buzzer that will vibrate when your room is finished. We stayed at the hotel most days, but when we did leave we used seasons tours, they are one of the companies in the lobby that plan trips. They call themselves "concierge" but they are really kinda like a travel agent. They do everything even hotel stuff, and were great. We had great service, but it was kind of expensive. I talked to other folks who used the other services and they said that most of their time was spend on a bus and it was horrible. Spend the extra 50 bucks for seasons. we were worried that we would be nickel and dimed to death at the hotel, but anything that cost extra is very clearly explained. The only thing I can think of (aside from trips outside the hotel) that cost extra was on the wine list at dinner. All food is free, at any place at any time. No extra cost for this or that or room service. I am cheap, so I didn't want to have to tip, but the staff expects you to tip. I got away with 20 pecos every other trip to the bar. The bartenders are great, but they will ignore you for the next highest tipper. I can wait an extra minute for a drink, so no big deal. On my last day I didnt tip at all at the bar and I didnt notice any difference in service. Everyone else is AMAZING. The drinks aren't very good as is, but you can ask them to make anything in anyway at anytime.

Excellent resort

Posted Nov 4, 2014
Pros: Each building had there own pool. No bad rooms in this resort, all rooms face the pools or Ocean.
Cons: Nice large balconies with very uncomfortable seating.
Location: We stayed on sight and did not do any tours off the premises.
Great week spent at Excellence riviera cancun. Food was first class, only disappointment was at Basmatti. Staff were wonderful, friendly and helpful. We had a regular room over looking the pool in building 9, room was clean, bed was firm which suited us. Personally I would not pay extra for the swim up room or for the Excellence Club. Beautiful sandy beach, lots of sun beds and shade. Seaweed in the ocean first couple of days, then it seemed to clear. Beautiful Resort with lovely grounds.

Pros: Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean and had several food options. Lots of things to do and fun activities for everyone.
Cons: Had some construction going on that they could have kept to a minimum.
Location: We were very close to Puerto Morelos with good snorkling and fishing.
Incredible place!! Great staff and people! I will be returning here again!

Pros: The room was nice and the room and server Staff was accommodating
Cons: The front desk should have informed us of the renovation upon arrival
Location: The beach had too much seed weed and it looked dirty
The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. But the bad experience for my husband and I was the noise and the small. The hotel was renovating by the beach with a jackhammer and a constant banging all day, by our room they were redoing several rooms as well which includes tile sawing and other loud noises from workers. There was a really bad smell of sewage that we had to pass everyday. They did not mention it when we arrived. I wish we could have gotten our money back

Under construction!!! The worst!!!

Posted Oct 31, 2014
The hotel is under construction and there is a lot of drilling and banging. Hotel front desk was rude and nonchalant about everything. There attitudes leave alot to be desired. I have stayed at other Excellence Resorts and this one is subpar at best. Would never go there again. A lot of the facilities are closed due to construction

Beautiful !

Posted Oct 30, 2014
Pros: There were so many options for dinner - everyone was professional and nice. The hotel was so nice and clean. The Spa was AMAZING! Loved it!
Location: There were a lot of excursion options, which we did not do this trip. But definitely lots to do !!!
Everything about our stay was amazing! From the minute we walked in, everyone was very friendly and helpful. The resort was absolutely beautiful - very relaxing and peaceful. This was our first trip to Cancun - We loved it!. We could go to the beach and go for a walk, or lounge and relax - or go lay by the pool outside our room - or up by the main pool. Lots of activities - we had an amazing time. The food was great! So many choices to choose from, loved the variety. This was a great experience, we will definitely be back.

Comfortable and delicious

Pros: Really nice place, very well kept.
Cons: Floors were a little slippery, but other than that it was perfect
Location: Good spot near lots of things to do. Cancun not that far, and tulum is not a bad drive either. Really close to puerto morelos, cool little town.
Great place food amazing staff great, carlos, arianna, jorge, marianna, and all the bartenders were awesome. Loved the sexy bridge.
