“Vacation in the swamp”
The hotel is located 1000 pesos south of Cancun, or 775 pesos south of the airport. It is on the shore, but in the middle of nowhere. The hotel compound contains two lobby and restaurant buildings, and many living spaces (villas). Transportation is provided between the villas and the lobbies. You can also walk, but there are raccoons, weasels and rodents living freely. There is plenty of swamp land, which stinks. The hotel is old. Air conditioning sounded like a freight train. Walls are thin, so crying or coughing child in the next room will make you loose sleep. Pillows are not confortable, but if you want a normal pillow, you will have to pay extra ($3 per day). Aroma therapy in the room - $5 per day. Minibar is restocked daily, but only once. You have to pay for extra. Restaurants and buffets are OK. No one in our group got poisoned. The food is far from being superb. It is safe, bland, and conventional. Bars are horrible. The top tequila they have is Cazadores, followed by Jose Cuervo Especial. Best vodka - Smirnoff. Mexican cognacs and brandy. Bartenders are sloppy and always scoop iodine disinfectant with ice, which makes ice brown, and stinky. Entertainment team is great. There are many activities. Reef is interesting. Tulum is 30 minutes drive. Overall, this would be a good hotel for adventurous folks that don't care about food and drink, and who are willing to explore the surrounding area (with TAXI).
“Didn't want to leave!”
By far the best entertainment we have seen in any all inclusive! All employees were friendly, very helpful, and would go out of their way to make sure you have a good time. The food was good & plentiful. With so many restaurants to choose from, we never ate a the same place twice over our 2 week visit. The spa was very nice & we had a great massage on the beach. The only difficulty we encountered was leaving. :-(
“Beautiful resort and very friendly!”
My husband and I went for our honeymoon. We went to the grand palladium in Jamaica last year and loved it, so we decided to go to the Mayan Riviera palladium. It was a very beautiful resort and had the Mayan theme which we loved. The only thing we didn't care for was all the walking. The trains and golf carts only ran certain times and to only certain locations. The resort is so big and if you want to get to a different lobby you have to walk. Beach was amazing! It was our favorite place, just gorgeous!. Great place for relaxation and the workers were so nice. Language barrier with the servers was a bit difficult but we just went with it. Overall, we had a great experience and would go back in the future!
“Impressive resort but food is below average..”
Beautiful resort. Very clean and great surroundings. Lot's of events planned for Kid's.Biggest draw back, food is below average. The Bed's are not high quality & the pillow's are weard. not very comfy. If only they can work on these 2 things it could be a 5 star resort.Would come back with the kid's but not as a couple... As for Spa..Great job. Excillent message therapist's..
“Gran Palladium Kanetka”
Decided at the last minute to join my daughter and family at this particular resort. As there are five hotels under one umbrella so to speak, it was difficult knowing exactly how far i was from them. As it turned out I was quite a distance and when I attempted to modify my reservation. They were staying in a much cheaper area and I had to sign a release for you telling you that i would take a cheaper room to be near them. This was quite stressfull for me as I am a senior traveling alone. Had my son-in-law not assisted me (he speaks spanish) it would have been more difficult.
“PALLADIUM , AVERAGE RESORT, GRAND BEACH”
Stay was for 6 nights in June. Our reservation showed Grand Palladium Riviera - Royal junior suite. Front desk informed us this happens often & that the room was actually a Jr suite in the Riviera section. They would have upgraded for $$ per night. Beware of this if you go here .. You will not get the room you thought you would. To much walking since not in the Royal section, as this is a very large resort. Junior suite dated & worn, the bed was hard, jacuzzi leaked, anyway more could be said but you get the idea. I have never wrote a negative review on this sight or any other. This resort was just average, although the beach was the best part of this resort..
“Fun for Everyone”
Loved this all inclusive hotel. My husband and I went with another couple and it was like summer camp for adults. The pools and beach were beautiful, the service and staff were very nice and always available. There was soccer and volleyball and kayaking and snorkeling etc. There was also an ocean pool for a more relaxed environment. There were always plenty of poolside recliners and available shady areas. The buffet was expansive (a little greasy, but its buffet food) and most of the restaurants were good. There were plenty of childrens activities available as well. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms were large. Definitely recommend for any age range.
“beautiful - spa is best part”
Absolutely wonderful facility, but it is large. I chose the Palladium because I wanted a large resort but with 2 kids 17 & 18, if you are a worrier - consider a smaller resort. The Palladium was FANTASTIC, beautiful everything, pools were clean and awesome, the spa was like no other (made you excited to work out), food was good, rooms were nice. The only drawback was my own fault. In Mexico most people don't use texting so it's difficult to stay in touch, have to resort to the old fashioned...let's meet at 4:00 pm at the north corner of the pool at the Colonial. There are 7+ pools so you don't meet at 'the pool' and the pools are so large that you both can be there and not see each other. Having a 17 year old daughter parade in a bikini all day with 20 - 30 year old men following her was not a mom's delight. Certainly to be expected but your teens will love the place and mom and dad will spend the evenings worrying because the place is FUN and the kids will want to go out all the time. If you are going there with your spouse, perfect! You will love it! If you are able to have a cocktail and say 'kids go have fun' you will also love it. If you try to keep tabs on where your children are get ready for a big job and no vacation. Bring your walking shoes, you will be glad you have them.
“impressing”
other that quite a long drive to the hotel, i have no complains. Royal suite section has really impressive service and extras. It was nice to have a separate Royal Beach section just for Royal guests. It was just a little strange it being the farthest from the our buildings. Staff was real friendly at all times. Will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends.
“Everything great but the activities”
Overall, this resort was great. It was very very well maintained, very clean, luxurious, and manicured. The staff was great. I had a great time, but I was disappointed with the activities. There is a long list of activities advertised, but most of them we could not do or they weren't worth doing. The rifle range was out of ammo for the entire week. The archery bow was crappy, and arrows were mangled and missing feathers. The minigolf course was very poorly designed, almost unplayable, and there was plant material all over the course, peeling carpet, bent clubs. There was only one day that we were allowed to take out a boat, supposedly due to wind. "But we can take you out snorkelling for only $40".
