OKPosted Mar 3, 2015
Pros: The resort was clean and the wait staff everywhere were fantastic. I read some bad reviews about the food, but we thought it was very good.
Cons: The front desk staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. They gave everyone the same bored look as they gave us.
Location: The location was okay. You just have to drive to everything. We really enjoyed a trip to Crococun, which is a small zoo north of Playa Del Carmen.
I would like to give the resort a better rating, but I just can't. For one thing, we had a difficult start. We reserved a swim up room and they didn't have one. They tried to "upgrade" us to a room that we did not like. It took a full 24 hours to get the room we RESERVED and it took several phone calls and we had to get very pushy. Also, they told us they upgraded us to a platinum room that has extra benefits, but they did not give us platinum bands. That meant we weren't really platinum. Also, the resort is so remote that you cannot walk to anything from the resort. We arrived on Saturday and didn't settle in to our swim up room until late Sunday afternoon. Our first day was spent making phone calls and being irritated.

Gorgeous property - something for everyone.Posted Mar 1, 2015
My first experience with a princess all inclusive resort. Gorgeous well maintained property and beautiful swimming beach and snorkeling. Spa was outstanding. Something for everyone - green juice - fried chicken. Families - honey mooners - groups of friends traveling of all ages and places. Loud pool - quiet pool. Lots of canadiens! Staff wonderful - suites beautiful.

Nice hotel with terrible service.Posted Feb 28, 2015
Was very bad, the room had dirty pillows, at the beach was so difficult to find chairs, the restaurant reservations wasn't easy. The noise outside the room started at 6:00 AM with the hotel staff making noise, and when I tried to change my room they didn't do anything. In the website they offer a completly different room and sights.

Beautiful location great beachPosted Feb 25, 2015
Pros: The beach, the grounds, the facilities, the food, the service and the room
Cons: The shuttle service to Playa del Carmen was too busy. But it is a nice walk down the beach (about 3 miles).
Location: Coba (Mayan site) which was great. Playa del Carmen is a fun town with pedestrian streets of shops and restaurants. Many other activities near by.
This was our first time at an all inclusive and we really enjoyed our stay at the Grand Riviera Princess. The food was excellent, varied and plentiful. The grounds were beautiful. The grounds are pretty large with several pools so there was plenty of room for the party crowd, families, and relaxed couples (like us) to be and not interfere with each other. The room was large, clean and well kept (we had a deluxe junior suite). The beach was the best we saw north of Playa del Carmen (we walked to town twice along the beach, a nice walk). There were plenty of beach chairs and a range of locations (from quiet to more party like). We found the staff to be available, friendly and helpful. We used the workout and tennis facilities which were both good.

Great staffPosted Feb 24, 2015
Pros: The grounds, pools and service
Cons: The dining experience. The restaurants at night are great but the breakfast and lunches have definitely declined over our three years
Location: We really only enjoy the resort.
This was our third stay at this hotel. The staff are exceptional. However this was probably the least experience we've had with our dining. The buffets were not at all as good as they have been in years prior. Again we have stayed this same week for three years in a row.

Nice GetawayPosted Feb 22, 2015
Stayed at resort for a week in February. Found the facilities beautiful and well cared for, staff super nice and professional. However found the quality of food and drinks lacking. Fewer choices than other resorts we have stayed at and even ala cart "premium" wine choices limited and only average.

ParadisePosted Feb 22, 2015
I went on Valentine's day weekend with my beautiful girlfriend. We were expecting paradise away from our New York winter and we received it. The hotel was beautiful and immaculate with staff constantly cleaning the grounds. All the staff were very courteous and helpful. The food was sufficient and when we paid for our valentines dinner at beach bar it was actually very good. We got massages on the beach and enjoyed hanging out poolside and by the beach everyday of our stay. The hotel has literally thought of everything to keep there guests happy. I would definitely go again.
