Would recommendPosted Aug 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
This is a well maintained hotel with some of the friendliest staff. The hotel and grounds are kept very clean. There are plenty of choices of restaurants however the food is average and it does lack a good ala carte restaurant. The non stop music by the pool was overbearing and way too loud but the entertainment staff are a credit to the hotel and never stopped working. I imagine when the hotel turns into a hard rock, this music will be even worse but what you can expect from this type of hotel. We had a lovely stay here at the adventura spa palace and I would recommend it.

So much to say in 1500 Characters, I'll try :)Posted Jun 17, 2013
Pros: It's clean, great staff, gay friendly, the restaurants are awesome especially the Asian restaurant. They sent up cake and champagne for my bday :)
Cons: There should be "a la carte" lunch and breakfast options. The only options are buffet and room service.
Location: $18USD to go into the nearest town, Playa Del Carmen. When you go out on your own, you have to walk from the main gate to the lobby.
This hotel is well maintained and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. They are currently under construction to change to a Hard Rock Resort. You wouldn't even know it on the Spa (Adult) side. It is very noticeable on the Cove (family) side. My room, the restaurants, room service, the tours etc everything was excellent. The water is filtered, feel free to have ice with your drinks. Note, you can no longer use your resort credits for a room upgrade. The Spa was lovely and I recommend the Chocolate wrap with Philippe. The man made lagoon/beach is a disappointment if you're a beach person :( but there are awesome beaches nearby is you don't mind (Playa, Punta Venado Beach Club) This hotel is 4.5+ to 5 star. A wonderful experience. The only bad experience I had was a time share type presentation that they asked us to attend in exchange for more room credits. Andrea the lady that explained the program was really amazing but then another person (Rodolfo in this case) is brought in to close the deal and that became pushy and uncomfortable. After him someone else (The manager) comes in and again tries to convince you to purchase vacation packages that frankly do not make sense financially. By this time I was upset and wondered whether or not it was worth the $200 room credit that was promised. All in all I was very pleased with the Hotel. I would go back anytime!

eh...not worth the moneyPosted Feb 13, 2013
Pros: roomservice was quicker than expected
Cons: food, relaxation areas, guest services, manmade beach
we walked around most of the day looking for a lounge chair to relax in (never found), couldn't find a towel station, the food was cafeteria basics and i'm sorry i fell for the so called 5 star rating. i paid way too much for an average, disappointing resort. i've stayed at nicer places for less money in the area. and apparently there are "points" you can use to eat lobster, get better wine, use at the spa. unfortunately we were never told of them and when we asked about it at the restaurants (when they offered the better food that's supposed to be ALL INCLUSIVE" they said, "oh sorry. ask the front desk". what?!
Good service and clean rooms...Posted Feb 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
Food was mediocre. Wasn't too impressed with the wait for the a la carte restaurants. Reservation systems needs to change and also the chair reservation with the towel. People leave towels on the chairs even after they leave so it causes a lot of chairs to be unused. The resort was clean and the staff was friendly. The food was good in some areas of the resort. Overall very satisfied with the resort ignoring small details listed above.

Buyer Beware NO Beach, great people though!Posted Jan 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
To be fair, I was coming from staying a week further south as Isla Mujeres, granted it wasn't an all inclusive hotel, so I was looking forward to having everything paid for and being pampered. The people were super friendly, and yes, I was pampered and waited on, but the food was not near as good as I expected and was sick of it by the second day, the drinks were fine, nothing to write home about and the fact that I totally MISSED the fact that there is NO beach, made me miserable. It was MY FAULT entirely not theirs that I didn't catch that, so I won't rate them based on that, but it definitely detracted from my experience. Also, a bummer that they are in transition and the information they provide is still relevant to Palace and not Hard Rock. That was a bit annoying but only midly. I won't be going back but I did see a ton of other people enjoy themselves. I do hope they get more chairs since there's no beach and your only choice is to lay by the side of the pool, without having enough chairs, you're out of luck if you don't get up at the crack of dawn.

Awesome Service!Posted Jan 25, 2013
I have been to a hand full of all-inclusive resorts and this one had the best service by far. There was always somebody asking you if you wanted a drink.

One of the best resorts I've ever visitedPosted Dec 29, 2012
Pros: Service in general, snorkeling, kayaking, room service
Cons: Cold pools
Location: This hotel is in Riveria Maya, which is like an hour south of the Cancun airport. Many cenotes nearby to visit; Tulum is very close by.
Our room was great (clean, comfortable, with effective air conditioning, etc.). The service at the hotel was the best I've ever experienced. The food staff hustled to make sure everyone had something to eat and something in their glass. The restaurants were excellent (food and service). Even room service was fast and impecable. I ordered a desert through room service around 11pm one night, and they'd delivered it fast; and then (I guess) they weren't sure if we got it, so they sent a second one. (It was all inclusive, so this was all included). The staff at this hotel are some of the most hardworking people I've ever seen. Also, every employee attends English classes, so they all know a bit of English (some are fluent, others know enough to get by.) So for those visitors who don't speak any Spanish, you will be able to communicate nonetheless. There were shows every night to keep us busy- a little cheesy, but decent enough. The Circus Night was surprisingly impressive! The hotel itself is big, clean, and well cared for. There were constantly people sweeping and moping and upkeeping the outside grounds. The one and only complaint I have is that the pools were always too cold for me to swim in them (but maybe I'm just chicken because there were a few people swimming everyday). I will absolutely be going back to this resort.

"still a great hotel"Posted Dec 14, 2012
Cons: beds, food only average
Location: close to playa, explore, excaret all about 15 minutes. 40 minutes from airport, 65 minutes from cancun.
We stayed in this hotel 10 years ago. the food quality is not as good as it was. that is also true about the quality of the alcohol they serve. despite this the quality of both is still good. the service could be better but only because the hotel is understaff. the staff that is here is superb they just need more help. at dinner there are 6 to 7 tables per waiter as oppose to 2 or 3 as it was 10 years ago. the hotel grounds is stll above average just keep in mind there is no beach in this hotel only a small pond like spot due to many rocks. also keep in mind that staying here does not give one the free right to visit other palace hotels. this can only be done when one buys a day pass (about $135 dollars)
