Perfect for anyone not keen on all-inclusives

Posted Dec 2, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff, down-to-earth and calming environment with tastefully designed rooms. Access to private beach
Cons: There were a few mosquitos that welcomed us when we first arrived, but hey, it is the jungle, and they were there first.
Location: The hotel is about 10 minutes south of Puerto Morelos, and 10 minutes north of Playa del Carmen; 15 minute pleasant walk to private beach
Amarte was a wonderful down-to-earth oasis (hard to come by in the sea of all inclusive resorts). The staff was consistently friendly and helpful; the gardens of the property created a wonderful soothing environment and the rooms were spacious, clean and comfy. We enjoyed complimentary breakfast at the restaurant just outside of the hotel and returned for dinner where we pigged out on delicious burgers (with a Mexican twist). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it for anyone not interested in the all-inclusive massive resort scene.

Great stay (with one small problem)

Posted Aug 26, 2014 on Hotels.com
We had an 8 day stay in the Riviera Maya area, 7 of those days at an all-inclusive resort. My wife booked Hotel Amarte for the one day that wasn't covered by the resort. First impressions? The hotel is lovely. The buildings and flora are very tropical and serene. I couldn't believe this was JUST off the highway. Very quiet. Beatriz at the front desk was very helpful. She took payment and brought us to our room, telling us of the area and our options for food and entertainment. The room was lovely. We went for dinner at the restaurant on the grounds, then for a dip in the pool. We returned to our room to get ready for bed, which is when we encountered our small problem. Or should I say a large problem with many small ones. Near one of the beds was a rather large spider, with dozens of its little children. We called the front desk. Beatriz came to check it out, and about 10 minutes later we were moved to another room. We checked the new room out... no "extra guests". :-) The following morning, we headed to the beach at the Maroma Resort, about 2km away. The beach is lovely, and we had lunch at the resort. We arrived back at Hotel Amarte and packed up for our trip to our other lodging. Per an earlier request, Beatriz had booked our taxi to get us there, and it was waiting for us on-time. Beatriz and one of her coworkers thanked us for our stay and saw us off. All in all, I have a positive impression of Hotel Amarte. If you want a vacation in a secluded area (Puerto Morelos is about 15 minutes away by taxi), in beautiful environs, you should book this place.

Please remember that in Maroma, you have a place where we all are waiting for you to comeback. Warm regards

Saludos cordiales,

Beautiful gardens, well maintained

Posted Jul 17, 2014
Pros: location, facilities
Location: Is close to Playa del Carmen, Puerto Morelos and not far from Cancún.
The staff is excellent, really helpful and kind. It is not close to any city and the area is quite isolated. But you will have access to the most amazing beach.

Playa Maroma

Hotel Amarte was excellent very quite and separate from all the noise. We could go to the beach anytime we wanted to all we had to do was ask and a car would be there. The beach was amazing the most beautiful and untouched. Very private and quite, staff was great. Thanks Omar for always being available even in the middle of the night.
