“Great, but if your stay is in off season expect construction work noise.”

That said, construction noise can be heard at any vacation spot in the world off season. Nice people at the hotel, very central location, very clean. TV only has a few viewable channels of cable as they are splitting too many lines to serve all the rooms, but who goes there to watch TV? Well there were a few rain days during my 26 days there and I would have loved to be able to watch TV during that time as I had read everything I had to read.

“Very pleasant”

Stayed just for a couple nights. Very very convienent location, centered right on 5th ave. I few short feet away from the magical nightlife of 12th st! Surprisingly quiet for where it is located. Safe and well lit. Staff friendly and room cleaned daily. I have been coming to playa for 3 years and actually lived here for a while too. I have stayed in several of the boutique hotels on 5th and for the price this was perfect for me. Maybe not so much for a family or a romantic couple, but for a nice clean,safe place to crash. This is it!

“A decent little place for the money.”

The people who work at this hotel are fantastic, they took great care of us including my older parents. The entire hotel is on the ground floor which is great for older people. The location is also excellent, right in the middle of it all. The staff was constantly cleaning and they kept this older hotel looking as nice as possible. There were two things I would improve, the first is that they are in need of bedside lamps as there is only over head lighting. Also, there is a situation with the towels, they were in rough shape and there seemed to be a shortage of them as well. For the money I would stay here again but might bring my own towels. The restaurant across the street has excellent food, breakfast, lunch and dinner.

GREAT LITTLE BUDGET HOTEL....VERY PLEASANT STAFF.RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF ALL THE ACTION YET VERY QUIET..WOULD RECOMEND TO EVERYBODY.

Good clean budget hotel,,,in the middle of all the action on 5th ave.... Friendly helpful staff,,,, english speaking which is helpful...its all about location,location,location....The tour guides out front of hotel can be a little annoying... If looking for cheap clean accomadations this is it. Close to beach 5 minute walk.

Hotel Azul doesn't meet any of my expectations . Unfortunately there is a huge gap between what says on EXpedia to the hotel it self. The hotel is located on the center of the 5th ave, literally minutes to any where, but that will be it's only quality. Other than that the rooms are pretty old and ugly, shower is bad and the smell of the sewage comes now and then, the pool looks more like a tub and even after 10 days (my whole stay) they couldn't fix my tv. It was a really expensive vacation for a student (from Europe!!) and unfortunately I was really disappointed. On this price I could find much better place to stay :(
