Simple hotel with amazing view!!Posted Jun 17, 2014
I've stayed here a few times and love the amazing ocean-facing view. It has a nice little pool, and is good value for the money. The front desk people could be a little more friendly and welcoming though. Dropping off the keys, I was met with surliness. But despite that, I would go back. So nice to fall asleep with the sound of ocean.

Good locationPosted Apr 8, 2014
We had a rough start at this hotel. We were given a room (the only room) with no screens, broken A/C remote, and not properly cleaned. The first receptionist told us that we would have to wait until the next day to speak to the manager. Several hours later, we spoke to a new receptionist, Leslie, and she immediately gave us a new room. The hotel is pretty bare bones (no shampoo, WIFI only in lobby, no restaurant, or even coffee) but the location is excellent and the view from the balconies breathtaking. The woman who cleaned our room, Dalia, was terrific! I would recommend based on reasonable price and location.

Nice location, but very rundownPosted Mar 25, 2014
Pros: The location near town and on the beach
Cons: Wifi is supposed to be available property-wide, but it was not working in the rooms. They need to have a restaurant, or bar.
I liked the location on the beach, and only a one-minute walk to the town center and best restaurants. But the facility itself is badly in need of renovation. (In fact, they were working on it while we were there, making for a lot of noise.) At one time, they clearly had a restaurant, but there was no food of any kind available. The rooms are basic: with a simple hard bed, and AC - but that's about it. Promises of WIFI were only half-right. It no longer works in the rooms, but only in the lobby, which was always full of people online. Overall, it's OK for a budget-minded traveler, but really, you should get much more for 90$ US a night.

It was a nice hotel on the beach.Posted Mar 23, 2014
Pros: I liked the location, the cleanliness and the view.
Cons: The door to the lobby was locked after 9:30.
Location: Hotel is only a block from downtown. We ate dinner at al Chili, and it was superb.
The experience at Hotel Hacienda was quite good. The check-in clerk was helpful, friendly and spoke excellent English. The room was spotless; the beds comfortable; the shower excellent. We had to shove an envelope in the door to keep it from creaking every time the wind blew.

Comfortable hotel right on the beachPosted Mar 19, 2014
Pros: The hotel's location is spectacular, right on the beach. We liked that feature most of all.
Cons: The exterior of the hotel, as seen from the beach, looks like it could use an upgrade.
Location: We were only at the hotel one night, and then left for the airport. Did not check out things nearby.
We only stayed one night, and for us, the location of the hotel was its best feature. At night we were able to sit out on the balcony and hear the ocean waves hitting the shore and see the fishing boats bobbing in the water. The next morning we awoke early and hit the beach by 6:00 am, after watching the sunrise. The beach was quiet and beautiful at that time of the morning and the lighting was spectacular for photo-taking. The room was spacious and clean and comfortable. The hotel was renovating their restaurant and bar, so these amenities were not available.

Ok HotelPosted Mar 17, 2014
Pros: Nic beach, close to town center
Ok Hotel Nothing fancy and definitely no extras but great location. Had one issue with front staff who tried to overcharge me for taxi to the airport. Told me the taxis in town would not take me to the airport. She arranged for a taxi to pick us up for $35us . However I knew for a fact that the taxis in town would take us there for a lot less than $35. She tried to argue with me but we declined her offer and walked over and took the regular cab. Do not BELIEVE their lies!

Needs work.Posted Mar 14, 2014
The room was kind of institutional in nature. The beds were very hard with sheets so thin they were transparent with no mattress pad so it was like sleeping directly on a bare mattress. The room was clean with a small balcony overlooking the ocean but it was over priced. The owners could update easily by getting some decent sheets AND mattress pads. Also a washable rug or bath mat next to the bed would be nice. The drain in the bathroom smelled like sewage but that might have been due to the rain.

GREAT beach front / walkable to town squarePosted Mar 13, 2014 on Hotels.com
Where it's located is GOOD with short walk to town square/eateries/shopping. Beach area is GREAT! Our room was comfortable and CLEAN. Housekeepers are friendly and do what they can to help you. Drawbacks were; window screens ripped or gapped up to 2 inches (causing the need to shut windows at night instead of hearing the waves), there were NO WASHCLOTHS OR HANDTOWELS, door stopper had to be held up by hand in order to shut the door, NO COFFEE MAKER/REFRIGERATOR/MICROWAVE, our room upstairs had no closet, no safe and plug in for toothbrush/curling iron was ACROSS the bathroom (not near the sink and with no shelf to put stuff on). Patio area is GREAT! It's large, part open/part covered, lots of tables and chairs and they provide a couple of hammocks which are great! IF washcloths, coffee maker and fridge are added - we would go back and there stay! The "ocean view" is really spectacular!!

Great layover hotel.Posted Mar 13, 2014 on Hotels.com
Would have no problem staying there again. No beach towels on Sunday and no extra pillows on Saturday night. The girl at front desk could have been a little more customer focused, may have been the language difference. She was more interested in her cell phone.
