No frills hotel, but can't beat the location for the price. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Awesome location!Posted Feb 14, 2014
Pros: I loved the awesome vistas, proximity to everything, and relative seclusion at end of strip.
Cons: As stated above, drinks and food would have been easily consumed and paid for were they on premises.
Location: Location outstanding, and there are a myriad of things to do right there.
Had a great stay at Hacienda Morelos. Views were outstanding, and location perfect. Would have been nice to have food and beverages on site--had to go elsewhere for that. Nice library in lobby.

Nice hotel ON THE BEACHPosted Feb 14, 2014
Pros: Clean, friendly, great location and price. You can hear the ocean and feel the ocean breeze all day & night.
Cons: Do a continental breakfast or at least coffee service in the early morning & maybe bar fridges in the rooms.
Location: Right on the beach, has a pool, 2 min walk into town, snorkeling, diving, hanging out on the pier, good food in town.
This is a nice place for a good price. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. The location is excellent- right in town and right on the beach- doesn't get better than that. We didn't get around to using the pool with the great snorkeling in Puerto Morelos, but it looked clean. A couple of quirky things: our room didn't have a safe, but our friends' did. They had a balcony and we didn't. All in all, I'd stay here again and I'd recommend it if you're not a fancy resort kind of a traveler. It's just a simple, clean little hotel in a great location and that's works fine for me.

awesome price, awesome location!Posted Feb 2, 2014
Pros: location, oceanfront w/balcony, large windows
Location: a 2 minute walk to the main fishing pier....location is perfect
I will definitely come here again! For an oceanfront room WITH a balcony and large windows you cant beat the price!...not to mention a 1 minute walk to the square. Sure there were little issues like, no towels when we arrived and a slightly broken toilet seat but really those little things are nothing compared to all the great aspects of the place! Showers had great pressure and were hot :) Room was clean, but obviously if you leave crumbs around you will get bugs - your in the tropics. I cant wait to return!!!

Beachfront view amazingPosted Jan 23, 2014
Pros: scenery from balcony. poolside area.
Cons: hotel needed interior work.
Location: swimming, snorkeling, fishing, shopping, lots of restaurants..
The rooms we had were excellent. Lots of room, no problem with hot water at anytime of day. The view was excellent. The beach in front of the hotel was cleaned every morning and swimming was awesome. The pool was very clean and water nice temp. Unfortunately the restaurant/bar was not open but was planning to be reopened next month. There were upgrades that needed to be done in the hotel its self and workers were doing that as we were there. The hotel did not supply kleenex in the rooms but really not a big deal. Location, scenery, rooms, and staff made our 10 day vacation excellent.....

Very nice basic hotel in a wonderful locationPosted Jan 21, 2014
Pros: Location and friendliness
Cons: An in room mini fridge would've been nice, but for the price, we're not complaining
Location: Located in the heart of Puerto Morelos on the beach.
If you would rather experience the real Mexico rather than the tourist ghetto of Cancun, this hotel and Puerto Morelos is the place to stay. Right on the beach- with wonderful views out your window and from your small porch, the hotel, while basic, is clean, friendly and safe. What more could you ask for? It's location is great, in that you can walk everywhere in town. No real need for a car. When we wanted to check out other areas, we took the local bus or very reasonable taxis. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

A great first stop when arriving in the Yucatan!`Posted Nov 22, 2013 on Hotels.com
This is the second time my wife and I have stayed here and the staff is always very friendly and accommodating...even when arriving late in the night during a nasty tropical rain storm! This has become a favorite launching point for our vacations in this area. Lots of great little shops and restaurants within easy walking distance, too.

great viewsPosted Aug 20, 2013
Pros: View from the balcony
Cons: not given the internet code at check in nor told needed a key to use the room safe which led to 2 unnecessary trips down 3 flights of stairs(no lift)
Location: walking distance to restaurants and on the beach
We were a little worried when we arrived at the hotel as it is quite old and looked 'tired' However the view from the balcony more than made up for any downsides and the room although basic was clean

Can't get closer to the beach.Posted Jul 28, 2013
Cons: Maintenance of a coastal property must be tough. This site has a lot of physical quirks. Safety and primary services are fine - enjoy that.
Location: This community, Puerto Morelos, is a dandy, unspoiled fishing village-on the cusp of tourist locale, add to the fun with a Spanish course here!
A staff with your safety and comfort in mind and a view of the Caribbean that can't be matched, isn't this what we are looking for in a moderately-priced hotel? I have stayed here twice, and on each occasion, the atmosphere of the coast and the kindness of the personnel convince me it was a great idea. You have choices at the all-inclusive non-Mexico hotels, but if you want to BE in Mexico and enjoy nearby restaurants, fiestas, coffee shops, and convenience stores, and - OH - the beach. This hotel even has an on-site dive/snorkel service.

Great respite from "timeshare madness"Posted Jun 25, 2013
Pros: location price cleanliness friendliness
Cons: clarify why there was no breakfast as stated on our reservation a dresser and additional chairs in the room
Location: This place is located right on the beach just half a block off the main plaza of the town. Dive shop was close and they spoke English!
My husband and I finished off our last 3 nights of 10 in Riviera Maya with a return to our favorite down to earth little beach town, Puerto Morelos. We went from this huge monstrousity called the Grand Riviera Maya to this beautiful little beachfront motel with a crystal clear small pool and 3 steps down to the beach. The room was really big, but could have used a couple more chairs. The bed was clan and comfy, shower ran strong, and the people there were very kind. We did not receive any breakfast as was described (European plan) because the restaurant was closed which was just past the lobby of the hotel. Everything is in walking distance, so it wasn't really a big problem. The room was such a good price we didn't even mention it. The dive shop attached to the south end of the place on the first floor was wonderful, and we went snorkeling on the protected reef with a very experienced local. The whole stay was a little slice of heaven. We would come back again.
