The room was basic but very clean. Sheets were on bed but not a blanket and it does say that in amenities. The staff was absolutely great, helpful and very friendly! The restaurant attached to hotel had great food and great service. If I was going back to that area, I would stay there again.

This hotel was better than we expected! Breakfast was awesome and the beach was beautiful. The photos don’t do it Justice! The servers were so attentive and the security/front desk was great. Would reccomend! No pool but not needed when the beach is steps away.

Amazing ocean view. Decent restaurant. Nice staff. A few things could possibly be updated, but for the price, the view alone, makes it worth it. The area around the hotel is extremely crazy busy, but that has nothing to do with the hotel Itself.

Staff was friendly and I appreciate that it was gated. It was quiet despite being just off 5th as well. However front desk quoted us several hundred more pesos for a taxi ride (assuming maybe they get a cut for recommendation and booking) than we ended up paying on the street so go find your own taxi!

Love this clean, comfy, spacious hotel
Love this hotel! Fantastic location, spacious and clean rooms, super friendly and helpful staff (especially the young man at the front desk), comfy beds, nice grounds, great security, and the honeymoon suite is spectacular! Huge deck overlooking the ocean with a jacuzzi tub. The showers are lukewarm at best but otherwise it’s a great hotel for a decent price. Will be back!

Nice hotel, beautiful location
We love this hotel! We’re going back again in 4 days! I read a few poor reviews before going and I was a little worried. Now I think those people are just entitled and grouchy. This hotel has a spectacular location on the beach, the grounds are beautiful, the staff was all super friendly and helpful, our room was spacious and clean, our beds were comfortable, and the on-site restaurant was super convenient. It’s not a 5-star resort but it’s a nice hotel.

We weren’t expecting much since we were only staying one night for New Year’s Eve but surprisingly it was very nice, clean and staff was great. Breakfast included was a bonus. We would stay again.

The Inn is very cozy and has unique characters. Our room was much bigger than the room in all inclusive hotel we stayed before. A beach is nice but right in front of the inn there are rocks in the water. It’s dangerous. But there is sandy space on the side for entry to the sea. I was very surprised that nobody mentioned in reviews that there was a big construction right next to the inn. The restaurant staff tried to turn music louder muffled the noise.

The smell in the bathroom was always awfull. No matter how clean the smell was unbearable. The operation of the AC unit was tough to figure out. Either too cold or too hold. The ceiling fan was so noisy that I always turned it off. Lastly the outside noise was always there. I get it it was very close to 5th Ave so if you are looking for a quit place this is not it.

I first stayed in this hotel in 2003. It was right on the beach. It was reasonably priced. Breakfast was wonderful. You wanted for nothing.What more can I say.

Hotel layout was interesting in a good way. Room was clean and spacious. Location of the hotel was amazing! Beachfront and pretty close to the bus station. Entrance to the hotel was a little weird, it's a long tunnel in between 2 other establishments. The sign was clearly shown.

Beach front room was very nice. You can hear the ocean waves. Unfortunately you can also hear the music from the nearby restaurants, although they quieted down during sleep time. Nearby restaurant/bar was nice, have breakfast by the ocean, watching the sun rise. Room was outdated and the privacy curtain was not easy to close. Need to do some updating. Otherwise great location, so close to 5th Ave and walking distance to ADO bus station.

The service was wonderful. All employees I dealt with were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was clean and large, the AC worked beautifully and the beach right outside was wonderful. The bed was adequate but near the end of its usefulness.

Decent budget front beach boutique hotel
For the money it is ok. However, the MAIN reason I got this hotel was because it claim to have wifi, it does, it just sucks. As a consequence I was unable to work and therefore was unable to complete an assignment I was require to do.

Staff unwelcoming, no wifi in rooms despite being advertised (no apologies), hotel run down, aircon leaking down wall, only one bottle of water provided for entire stay. Location is great but plenty of others nearby that I’m sure would be a better option all around. Do not recommend.

This room was so dirty my check in was at 3:00 pm and the room was no ready, so I had to wait 3 hours I end up checking in at 6:00 pm. The toilets wasn’t flushing shower didn’t have warm water. Liliana the front desk lady was very unprofessional and very rude I don’t recommend this hotel at all. Worst experience and hotel ever.

Was a great location although ovean view was a room at the back overlooking roof top while listening to neighboring building a/c unit. So be aware of your room location Restaurant staff were excellent and very friendly. From staff lady was rude and demanding Hotel had no water in morning so we had to wait to get ready , then she was demanding $$ for late check out. I refused to pay and left

The beds were not comfortable although the room was clean as were the grounds. We paid for an ocean view but were almost as far from the beach as possible with a window looking over the courtyard and the far side of the hotel before our "ocean view." We reserved and paid for 4 but at check in were told we only reserved for 2 so I had to pay more. Luckily I was able to log on through their poor internet and show my confirmation at checkout and was refunded the overcharge by the manager. The included breakfast was meager but I will say that the coffee was great. The location is good, the price is average but would not stay there again.

Not what I was expecting
So many things were very disappointing. By day two I was ready to go back home! The room was hot when we arrived and it took forever to cool down. We paid for the two bedrooms and my 9year old had to sleep between us during the whole stay because his room was too hot! The secondary room never cooled down so we had to shut the door to keep our master room cool. What a nightmare. The TV never worked and it was probably a 12X12 size ( so even if we wanted to watch TV we probably wouldn't have been able to see much) The food was HORRIBLE. The portions are very small so if you are a average weight adult be prepared to leave the table hungry. The plates and silverware were very old ( it looks like they haven't been changed since the 80's) The food takes about 40-1 hour to get our food for a table of 3 so if you are in a hurry go somewhere else.. Bottom line it felt like torture rather than a vacation! Rooms are too hot to enjoy yourself, no TV to even keep yourself occupied, food was horrible ... Once again what a nightmare!

Less than I expected
This place has potential but I won't be back to see if it ever improves. Out dated everything! From the air conditioner that didn't work, shower heads and sink faucets barely flowed, only a sheet for covers on the bed, had a working tv that was 10 years old, mini fridge that didn't work. It was clean and the staff friendly. The entrance hallway was the nicest place I saw there. If you want a bare minimum place to stay, no frills except pretty swan towels on the bed this place will work. It does have a beach with chairs and tables , didn't try the restraunt. I can do basic but not primitive. price was reflective of amenities.

Good basic hotel. We stayed recently at the Pelicano. Pros -- on the beach; rates are good for being on the beach; room was clean; the bar/restaurant had excellent lunch service; chairs and umbrellas on beach are free. Downside: as with most foreign hotels (not a chain), mattresses are hard and pillows are poor; room was spartan (no TV -- but not a problem for us); Wifi was spotty at times; You get what you pay for. if you want a 5 star place, you can get it if you pay for it. If you want relatively inexpensive beachfront, you don't get everything you want for a lower price

Fine as expected for this second stay at Pelicano. The premises are well maintained and a bit improved in relation to our fomer visit in 2011. Still compfortable, well placed with a direct access to the beach and close to main commenrcial area, quiet, nice staff at front desk, restaurant and services, clean and neat at the room and in all the premises, also at the comfortable rest-room near the seaside.
