Cute, cozy , close to the beach and all the bars!Posted Aug 30, 2013
Pros: The simplistic design, authenicity and the staff !
Cons: The fact that sunbathing was not possible due to the canopy of trees overhead was the only downside
My friend and I spent 7 nights in this hotel , and I cannot say anything negative about the experience! The staff were so friendly and polite at all times and made us feel very welcome and at home. The hotel itself was really charming and the room was really clean and fresh. The beach, clubs, resteraunts and shops are all within minutes walking distance. I would highly recommend this hotel !

Hidden Gem for the Price...Posted May 14, 2013
Pros: Quite, Convenient, Very Accommodating Staff. Rooms have a Local Flair. This Hotel has a very Boutique'ish Vibe. Lots of International People
Location: Located Blocks from Restaurants, Bars, Stores and the Truly Amazing Beaches...
What a Truly Wonderful Place to Stay while in Playa. Two Blocks from 5th Ave, the center of all the action and 3 block to the beach.

Great hotel for a short stay.Posted Apr 14, 2013
Pros: Price and location.
Location: Great location. Very quiet, yet close to everything...
Booked this hotel last minute. Great price and location. The pool was not so inviting and very small, but this is a great, affordable option if you want to be close to the center of town and plan to go to the beach clubs. Clean rooms, but locks not too secure and no in-room safe.

The place has a lot of character. It is set up to resemble a Mayan village in the jungle somewhere. Super friendly and helpful staff. I stayed for a week: my first room had no tv, but for my last two nights they moved me to one that did for the same price. Pool was very small and very cold, since it is always shaded--it was colder than the sea. The hotel was very quiet in spite of being one block from a cluster of very popular clubs.

pick another hotelPosted Dec 27, 2011 on Hotels.com
On the internet the hotel looks charming and quaint. In truth, it needs a lot of repair and the money they are asking per night is far too much. You cannot swim in the pool. It is more like a freezing wading pool. The walls in the hotel are paper thin and far too much noise from other local guests. Do yourself a favor and walk another two blocks north of this hotel and get something for 1/2 the price and much nicer.

cozy hotel not too far from beach and good servicePosted Aug 22, 2011 on Hotels.com
Good customer service, good location, cool room design (sort of like a beach cabin), and overall great experience that was very affordable. The only thing is they should clean the pool, but who wants to swim in a pool when there is Playa del Carmen???????

We really recomend this hotell. 3 minutes walk to the main road, 5 minutes to the beach and 1 minute to restaurantes. The garden was fantastic with lots of green trees and bushes and the pool. But the breakfast wasn´t worth the money.

Perfect Place for the Resourceful TravelerPosted May 10, 2011
Hotel Playa del Karma isn't a big resort- it's not even a little resort- it's a cute, little hotel with cute, little rooms meant to be a place of respite after a long day of beachin' and walkin'. I would highly recommend this hotel to travelers who don't spend a lot of time in their room, yet who appreciate quality service and a quaint environment.
