Good All-Inclusive - SUPERB Golf Course

Posted May 21, 2015
Pros: Great check-in process. Friendly staff. Reasonable rates. Spectacular golf course.
Cons: The food is not five star quality. It is good, but not five star good.
Location: We were there only to golf. Don't waste your money on Mayakoba. The Iberostar course is fantastic.
Our experience was very good. The purpose of our three day trip was a reconnaissance visit to the area in search for a great hotel with great food, adults only and a great golf course that would be suitable for our larger group that travels for golf every January. We found our resort in the Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraiso. The facilities are excellent and exceeded expectations. The food was good but not great. The golf course is spectacular! Although rated the number 3 course in the area it is much, much better than the number one rated Mayakoba course.

Nice resort; terrible beach

Posted May 18, 2015
For a five-star hotel, I would have thought the beach would be pristine, which it was not at all. Hands down the worst beach on a vacation I have ever been to - including many of the beaches in the Northeast! The resort, while not five-star quality, was very nice, but if you're looking for a beautiful beach this is NOT the place for you (tons of seaweed, very rocky, and the red flag was up all week because the current was too strong).

Another great stay at the grand!!!!

Posted May 18, 2015
Pros: Love the views, the rooms are all nice suites. Everyone that works here are happy to assist in making your vacation great....
Cons: Food temperature , food was lukewarm but great selections
Took a quick birthday getaway to my favorite resort Iberostar Grand Parasio.... Arrived early room was not ready lounged around the pool till check in time. The hotel is still great just a few hiccups I've noticed, food lukewarm mostly (still great selections) could have been a fluke. lobster was not as plentiful as it was off season for it. The room was a junior suite in building 74 close to lobby. best area building 72 central location. If your not doing ocean view the mattress are not as plush as prior visits but after long days of lounging who cares.... I would suggest you of and experience the excellent service for yourself that's what ,ales this place a return visit every time. The staff go above bad beyond to make your stay great....

Loved almost everything!

Loved everything about this hotel but the dinners. Breakfast, lunch, drinks, grounds, and activities were top notch. The dinners were very mediocre. If they can improve on this it would be a five-star resort.

2nd Stay at Hotel Grand Paraiso

Posted May 17, 2015
Pros: Rooms are wonderful, staff is great and the pool (other than waking up at 6am to insure a good cabana for the day) is the BEST!
Cons: Food.... big decrease is quality of the food between my two stays
Location: I just stay on property at the Grand because I love a week of sun, sand, drinks and pampering!
This is still a wonderful place to go on vacation. Only difference between my two stays was the food. The first time the food was as spectacular as the Hotel and Staff. This time the hotel, views, pool, and staff were still amazing while the food was definitely lacking. We had an ocean front top floor suite and I would recommend that over and over!

Gorgeous surroundings

Posted May 11, 2015
Pros: the cleanliness, how beautiful it was.
Cons: if there was anyway to remove seaweed from ocean, didn't like that
I truly enjoyed my stay at this Iberostar. Beautiful accomodations and staff were so helpful and friendly. Dining was wonderful and would recommend to anyone.

Paradise in paraiso

Posted Apr 24, 2015
Pros: The service here is unmatched. Anything you could want at any time of day. So attentive from every associate. Not one bad experience. Food delicious.
Cons: Wish there was no seaweed on the beach. Still very pretty but not great for swimming in it. The pool is so much fun, you don't have to!
Location: We played golf and the course was beautiful. We were on anniversary and we're just there to relax. They offered all kinds of games and services.
This Hotel is the real deal. From the moment you walk in you know that you are not in your average all inclusive in Mexico. Very similarly decorated like high end Vegas hotels. Nothing is missed. This was our 4th all inclusive and it far exceeded our previous trips. Food was out of this world. Particularly loved Haiku and Venezia. Top shelf liquor. Butler service. The golf course was beautiful. The service is unbelievable from everyone. Really was a wow trip.

Disappointing for a repeat customer

Posted Apr 24, 2015
Pros: Pool and Beach staff, Star Friends
Cons: Butler was non existent
Been to this complex of Iberostar resorts in Mexico 8 times now and this was the 3rd time at the Iberostar Grand. We always go this time of year but apparently the hotel has now become a popular destination for corporate retreats and large wedding parties. The hotel was at full capacity and was not the quiet, relaxing experience that we enjoyed in previous years. The appeal was that you paid the premium to be in an adult only resort however the adults this trip were worse than kids. Guess most haven't ever had the spring break experience when they were younger so they were making up for lost time. The reception staff even told our friends that this wasn't going to a normal "Iberostar" experience when they arrived and apologized in advance. We asked to extend our stay by 1 day but received no help considering we are repeat customers and have recommended 6 different couples that have stayed here. Also, the beach was not groomed at all this stay and the sewage smell was more prevalent in different areas of the property than in the past. On the bright side most of the staff are good, very hard working people that provide excellent service particularly at the beach and poolside. The Star Friends are always helpful and entertaining. However, this trip took the resort from being our preferred vacation destination down to an average resort that happens to be "adults only". For the money spent we will definitely go somewhere else next year.
