Beautiful hotel, beach, and pool

We had a great time at the resort. My only suggestion would be to change up the buffet food each night as it gets old quick!

Iberostar is a great resort!!

My husband and a friend and her husband went for a Vacation of 8 days. The hotel and staff are so friendly. They go out of their way to make everything perfect! My husband and I also stayed at the Iberostar in Jamaica. We are hooked on their above and beyond service. Thank you Iberostar.

Large resort with no sufficient info for amenities

Pros: The room was very spacious and bright with a nice balcony.
Cons: Guests should be provided with more information about the resort's amenities and accessibility of such. Customer service might use some improvement.
Location: Use the shuttle provided by the resort to go to Playa del Carmen.
My husband and I booked Paraiso Del Mar for 7 nights and even though i had requested an upper floor room (they confirmed receipt of my request), and even though the resort was not fully booked (looked half empty), we still had to wait a few hours to get a 2nd floor room. The room was nice, pretty spacious and bright, but you could see stains on the floor. The resort is large, but there was no information which restaurants were open on what days. So we walked all the way to the beach for breakfast one morning to find out the restaurant was closed (no one had told us that on the other side of the pool was another restaurant belonging to the sister resort, but that could be used by guests of both resorts). We stayed in building 17, which is quite a long way to the beach (building 20 being the farthest). The beach was nice, but not spectacular. There are rocks in the water, some bigger and visible and some smaller that you can only feel when too late, which was annoying. There were always plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas. Cocktails at the beach and pool bars were okay, but the beer and wine at the restaurants were very disappointing. For the 7-night stay, we were entitled to only 3 reservations at the specialty restaurants (we would recommend the Mediterranean), but the food at the buffet was actually pretty good. We had great weather, which made our stay good, but we will not be returning to this resort.

Huge hotel

Overall really nice place. Almost too big of a place.about a 10 minute walk to the beach.the Beach is unbelievably nice though.Paid 900$ for 6 days. the price was worth it. Fun wildlife just chilling. Go to the restaurants!

First off, the good. Went with my wife and 2 year old. My son had an AMAZING time. He loved the pool, the animals around the hotel (peacocks, parrots, flamingos and all types of birds). The pool was 2.5 ft deep for most areas allowing him to stand and play. Again, he had a blast! Now for the not so good: we upgraded to a beach front room at check-in. Not worth it for 70 bucks a night. Bathroom infested with ants which bothered my wife more than me. Food was blah. Not enough real "Mexican" food. My son is usually a good eater and had pizza for just about every meal. My wife and I were more adventurous but overall -- eh. Service was hit and miss. Overall, for what we paid, we were happy and I would recommend this property for families.

Iberostar Beach Perfection

Location: FABULOUS BEACH
They changed me over to next door Paraiso Beach into a upgrade junior suite and I loved it !The lobby was alot more hi-end I thought and the grounds were easy to navigate and know your way around...alot of walking ..huge properties..but golf carts are driven by staff around to provide anyone who wants a ride..which was perfect..and at dinnertime there is a tram driven around with specified stop areas..Then food is outrstanding as all-inclusives go..didn't expect such quality really...beautiful main dining room and gourmet restaurants..shows at night are professional,lights, costumes , talent all fabulous!. which I suppose go to the other hotel theatres in area..huge theater...only one thing..there was no free wi-fi..only way out of touch shopping center had...they offer a daily charge for wi-fi and have a $40 per week pkg...which you hand them your smartphone and they do the typing in of the password and code..fine with me ..no prob..as long as I have wi-fi I agreed..linens in rooms are beautiful the wine is from Spain...the beaches were deep and wide and plenty grass huts on it for shade for all..I cant wait to go back.

Good family destination

Pros: Staff were friendly and the kids club was great
Cons: Although they say no spring breakers on the site, there were a ton. The hallways were noisy. Post a clock at some key places!
Location: Playa Del Carmen was a short cab ride. Shopping and the ferry are there to Cozumel for snorkeling, diving and shopping
We arrived after 12 hours of travel and were quickly checked in and escorted to our room. I had requested double beds since we had three people however we were put in a king room. When I brought the hotel confirmation down they said it was simply a request and not a reservation so buyer beware. The couch was made up and our son slept there for the 8 nights. Since I paid full price for him I feel like he should have had a bed. Other than that the resort was very well maintained and the staff were always smiling. We found Omar and Victor wonderful at the swim up bars. Victor actually brought our son a squirt gun his last day which was so sweet. The buffet was sufficient and the "specialty" restaurants were nothing special. We didn't do the Japanese but it smelled delicious! The best alcohol selection was at the lobby bars or the theater bar. The kids show was really fun and the kids club was wonderful for our son. He loved Jessica and Marisol both and they took great care of him. If you get a chance get over to the shopping area for taco's. They are fresh made and wonderful. The different salsa's are nice to try too. There's only a wifi signal in your room or in the lobby so it's quiet and you don't have to listen to everyone's phone going off which was wonderful! Bring a watch though, there are no clocks anywhere!

Pros: All-inclusive, friendly staff
Cons: The food on some of the buffets could be kept cooler or warmer ( whichever applies).
This was our first visit to iberostar but will certainly not be our last. Everyone was so helpful and made our vacation perfect!!!!

Some staff members were rude.

Location: Approachable
We travelled with a group of 20 people from Cincinnati high school seniors and parents. Apparently they messed up our dinner bookings and would not admit that it was their fault. We just needed a correction and a sit down dinner together.
