yes, is close to beach.

Pros: close to beatifull beach, surrounding by jungle.
Cons: rooms needs to be upgrades, food was horrible, better drinks.
Location: xcaret, xplore, tulum, most of the main attractions was very close.
the hotel needs a lot of upgrades, food was horrible! needs much better hotel activities. better restaurants and more aircondition.

Our Maintenance team works on a preventive program throughout the year. We understand there is always room for improvement and please rest assured that we will keep working hard to have impeccable facilities for our clients. Regarding the gastronomy, we are sorry to read that we were not able to satisfy your palate. Our Executive Chef and his team only works with top quality products and constantly works on offering a wide assortment of food for our national and international guests. Your suggestion will be addressed to him, as all suggestions and constructive comments do, to be able to make appropriate changes to adapt to your needs. In relation to our activities, our entertainment team offers a wide variety of activities during the day, and at night time we offer shows and a live international music band. We are sorry you were not satisfied, and your valuable suggestion will be forwarded to the Entertainment Manager for improvements. Our professional team is always working to entertain our guests of every age. Last but not least, we have two restaurants with A/C, as well as in all our rooms, but the rest of our resort is built to make the Caribbean breeze go through the open areas. It creates a very special atmosphere that makes it more authentic and integrated into the beauty of this area. However, we understand your discomfort and will forward your suggestion to Management. Great hotel for families

Food was good and all day activities were great. Kids really enjoyed watching the animals around the resort. The beach was relaxing.

Pros: Animals, pool, beach, dining, overall quiet, although I concur about the peacocks being very LOUD and they like certain first floor balconies.
Cons: Beds, water pressure for shower, but again overall very nice place, we'll be back...
Location: anything you want... and not far away...
Had a GREAT time, spent a week at Quetzal. Front desk was accommodating and pleasant. We asked for a room towards the beach and pool area and received Room 2124 within 50 yards of the pool and 75 yards from the beach. Food was very good in the "reservation" restaurants, although we enjoyed the Japanese and Italian most. The buffet is exceptional for other meals with a very nice variety and a pleasant staff. The bed took some getting used to as it was pretty hard, but we did and other than that we had a GREAT time.

Nice enough, but have had better

Pros: Pleasant appearance and facilities. Crowd participated in staff events ( limbo, yoga, Zumba) Event personnel were super friendly.
Cons: Beach bar in the evenings to enjoy the sea breeze.
Location: About 50 minutes to Xel-ha snorkeling with lots of fishes, stingrays and sea turtle. Nearby plaza for shopping ( walking distance).
Stayed at Iberostar quetzal in mid June. Rooms were adequate and food was alright for buffets. The only rel complaints were the lack of breeze in the lobby area which had the night time bar. Room service was limited but quick. Room service didn't run past 11:00 pm. The pool bar was not connected to the main pool and the steps into it were slippery. The resort was well manicured and the guests were from mixed Mexican, European, and American backgrounds. Pleasant people overall.

Pros: The beach!
Cons: Food and air flow. The peacocks on the grounds were nice, except in the mornings they would make a very loud squaking sound, hard to sleep through!
The grounds were very pretty, very jungle-like. The rooms were clean. Beautiful beach! We were disappointed in the food and lack of air conditioning and air flow. Buffets were so hot, we were dripping sweat as we tried to eat.

Relaxing destination w excellent customer svce.

Pros: Beautiful grounds, hotel located on the beach, excellent customer service.
Cons: The variety of food at the buffets can be improved. We stayed 5 days so it was ok but we were getting tired of it.
Location: Relaxing location. You can go to XCARET, various caverns called 'cenotes', Cozumel, Cancun, Isla Mujeres, go to Playa's Coco Bongo to dance!
I learned that Cancun is for party goers and Playa del Carmen for people looking for relaxation! You can choose not to leave the resort and enjoy the beautiful beach and aqua water or you can seek out many excursions. The hotel staff was amazing. My daughter had a broken ankle and they accommodated our needs for a 1st floor room plus they provided room pick up and drop off to take us to the beach, lobby or restaurants so she wouldn't have to crutch around. Make sure to make reservations for dinner as early as possible as the 4 restaurants offer the best food!

All was above average or better with the exception of the evening entertainment. The shows lacked creativity and effort. For a relatively captive audience at an above average resort one should expect better.

Pros: We usually stay at nicer resorts, but this resort was cozy, and very reasonably priced. Bang for the buck is definitely a big plus at this resort.
Cons: A/C in the room was not even close to 20 degrees celsius! and we couldn't lower any to get comfortable.
Location: Clsoe to town.. big plus
Overall, good experience. Rooms on bottom floor were not very cool as far as room temperature. Quite warm. Staff was very accomodating when we wanted to switch rooms. Hard to get change for our money. Pool was Great! Bartenders at poolside were outstanding. Waiters/Waitresses in restaurants were great.
