Beautiful beach, pool and wonderful wildlife area

Pros: Nice accommodations - I thought the shower was very nice, it was a walk in. All rooms have patios/balconies so you have a good view in all.
Cons: The food was just average, but I was really not expecting a lot from an all inclusive resort and food wasn't my main concern anyway
Location: We stayed on the resort the whole time and only shopped a few blocks away at some stores off the resort
This is my first trip to Mexico but this hotel was very nice, the beach was breath-taking and the pool was huge! Plenty of wildlife around the hotel as you walked around it was like being in a zoo. My friend who has traveled the Mexico area many times stated that this hotel had the best beach she had ever been too. Quiet and relaxed. Plenty of chairs, huts and umbrellas. The sand was very clean and the water very blue.

Too many problems with the reservation.

Reservations were not booked right from the hotel. Lost of time and international phone calls. The service was great and the amenities. Very dissatisfied with the check in and out. We had a reservation Saturday for an engagement dinner due to the reservation issue. I am so mad.

Pros: Almost everything. The relaxing atmosphere.
Cons: water control,our room flooded from the rain water twice. Have bottle water at bars and restaurants.

Absolutely loved the fact that the resort utilized the natural surroundings. the walkway thru the jungle to the beach area was very unique and always offered something different to see. The fountains, water gardens and walkways around the various parts of the resort provided a peaceful relaxing atmosphere. The completely separate adults only pool bar was nice to get away from the familes and children. The buffet food was good with a lot of variety at both the main dining and beach dining rooms. We were always able to find something to eat that made us happy. The reservation required restaurants were not all that great. Would not waste our time eating at those again. The two separate lobbies with complete bars was a nice touch and were nice to hang out in and converse with other people. all of the staff were pleasant, courteous and very helpful. The only problem we had was breaking American dollars down to smaller denominations

4th Time at Iberostar Quetzal/Tucan

Pros: The way the hotel is built into the jungle and the wild life in the resort.
Cons: Continue the upgrading and renovations
The front desk staff is very outgoing to making sure your stay is wonderful. The rooms are as they appear in the pictures and are kept clean. The food is very good also.

Amazing beaches.

Rooms were not spectacular but all else was excellent! Beaches were the best we have ever been to and we travel quite often. Kayaking, parasailing & snorkeling made for an outstanding trip. Food exceeded our expectations!

Beautiful Hotel

Pros: The staff was friendly and helpful, especially at the restaurants and in the bars. Grounds were well kept.
Cons: Check-in and check-out took a long time, difficult securing a reservation in the specialty restaurants
My boyfriend and I just returned from our stay, and we were very pleased with our stay. The room was comfortable, but in the future, we would request for a room in a building closer to the pool/beach (we were in Building 27). The beach and pool had plenty of chaises, although there is no one to enforce the "no reserving" policy. The buffets had a wide variety of food (keep in mind-- there is no air conditioning as most are "open air" facilities). We were only able to get reservations for the Japanese restaurant, where we had a great hibachi experience. We would visit this property again, and recommend it to couples, families with children, groups.

Decent but there are certain aspects of the hotel that make you leave scratching your head. -There is no internet, not even a general area where you can access it quickly -The gym is very small and I'd expect something a lot bigger for a hotel with this name and two joining hotels. Plus a few of the fitness machines were broken -The food was mediocre at best. Some of the restaurants, the food was really low quality. The buffet restaurant was the best part of the food in my opinion, although it gets old eating the same thing every day. -They were extremely stingy on the mini bar. They only fill it once every two days. For an all inclusive place in which you pay for everything in advance, I thought that was a bit ridiculous -Air conditioning is located only in a couple of the restaurants. Everywhere else, there is no air conditioning and I found myself sweating through meals and everywhere throughout the place. -We had an ocean view room and it is worth it to pay extra for it. **Perhaps the most positive for us was that even though the hotel was average quality, the Staff, especially the workers in the restaurants and bellboys, were AWESOME. They were so friendly and helping with everything** I would not stay here again.

nice hotel nice staff and good food

Location: close to the beach and close to the mall
My experience about this hotel was amazing. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the buffet had different foods every day, and the people who worked their were very friendly. The jungle and the wild life surrounding the hotel was beautiful. The beach's water very clean and clear everyday. The sun set on Riviera Maya was beautiful.
