Lets start with the awe inspiring entrance and smells of incense in the lobby. The cool wash cloth and cold cucumber and mint water awaiting my husband and I were well recieved after a 90 minute drive from Cancun. The staff were/are AMAZINGLY attentive. Goudy carried our bags while he gave us a tour of the property on the way to our room. The room was in Villa 4 with a partial ocean view. It was clean and very cold.
People have complained about the music at the pool, but it was welcomed for us. They are in transition from a gay resort to a wellness one. The music only plays until 6pm, however, the view from the infinity pool and the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks was so AMAZING, that it was easy to block out the dance music until a good song came on.
The food was AMAZING. You could eat from the buffet, or order off of rotating menus with a Japanese, Italian, or Mexican theme, or you could do both a buffet and order off the menu. Alcoholic drinks are all included, except if you want a bottle of wine or champagne. The food is so fresh, tastes great, and a total experience you must enjoy everyday. At breakfast I recommend the huevos rancheros and a cappuccino - AMAZING.
In short, beautiful grounds with free WiFi in the game room, spectacular view of the Carribean Sea, and close proximity to the Coba and Tulum ruins. Public beach access is just down the road. And there is a huge sense of security, because the police are posted outside the front gates.
