Great, convenient hotel!Posted Nov 18, 2013
This cute boutique hotel is right off 5th ave where all the restaurants, shops, bars are. if you're aiming for a non-touristy/crowded spot, then i wouldnt recommend it. We booked this hotel on a whim and it ended up being perfect for us because we wanted to head down to the beach conveniently with being able to grab a late dinner if needed. the only cons were- our bathroom wasnt in the best shape (mirrors were a bit dirty and toilet bowl was cracked)- but def still usable! Another thing- dont swim in the pool. i watched the cleaner scrub the pool surround and throw it back in the water- gross

Perfect Hotel at an awesome location in Playa!Posted Sep 12, 2013
Pros: Everything. The Location, the staff, the hotel itself was clean, great size rooms and even had a pool!
Location: 5-10mins walk to the beach, right off 5th avenue (shopping), LOTS of close restaurants, close to bus terminal and ferry to cozumel!
La Tortuga Hotel is definitely the kind of hotel I would return to next time I am in Playa & recommend to friends! It is located in prime position near 5th avenue, the beach, clubs and great local restaurants. What more could you want! The hotel staff and reception are all very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself has a great pool, room service, rooms are very clean and great size, beds are comfortable, no noise from the surrounding clubs, wifi included in the lobby and most rooms. The included breakfast was also great!!! Our stay overall was perfect and we had no complaints. The air con also worked very well & the staff also had great suggesstions about what to do and various tours offerred. All this at a very reasonable price per night! Will be back!

Very Small but CutePosted Aug 25, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel is in the mids of the city but very close to everything, the outside will initially scare you a bit but then you walk within its outter walls and you find a beautiful little oasis inside. Make sure everything works in the rooms and if not, ask and they always give you a better room. Don't hesitate to ask for help from the hotel staff they will help you and advice you with anything you may need. Very nice people and setvice. MUST Visit xcaret and tulum and coba amd chichen-itza and Cozumel while at playa (especially the beaches of cozumel)....oh and I garantee you will need atleast a day per each of these attractions to enjoy them fully.

Very good stay, overall very happy with hotelPosted Aug 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
Hotel was good. It was very clean and all of the staff were extremely friendly and gracious. Good pina coladas in the bar, good happy hour, and good tips from the front desk for any kind of activity or touristy-help we needed. Only thing that we didn't like was that the room's window was close to a main street and it was loud when there was traffic outside. However, I would absolutely recommend staying here to anyone who is going to be in the area

well-located near all the shops and night clubsPosted Jul 31, 2013 on Hotels.com
Overall, nice little boutique hotel. Great service, greeted with two beverages at check-in (nice-touch)! Our hotel package came with daily breakfast included daily which was served til 1pm, which was great for us since we stayed out late and were late risers. Overall, clean and well-located hotel with a friendly staff. Hotel was only a few blocks from the beach and we were given vouchers for to use the lounge chairs at other beach clubs nearby, a great plus! Enjoyed our stay.

Cons: Reception team could be better trained.
Location: Very central location not far from the beach.
Rooms a bit small but very clean and comfortable. Hotel pool and common areas very well maintained.

Nighttime nightmares, no water morningsPosted May 18, 2013 on Hotels.com
Terrible stay. Plumbing made noise all night. Literally woke me up 2 nights. In the morning, I did not have water in the bathroom. Could not shower. Made me late every day. They offered me a complimentary bottle of water for my trouble. What an insult. I would never stay there again and would recommend you don't, either.
