The hotel itself was in the perfect location, very clean and nice. Pretty quiet for being basically on 5th ave. The pool área is very pretty and the staff are super friendly. However at 7:30 in the morning after staying there for one night they banged on the door and said we had to evacuate for a gas leak. They moved us to a condo building that didn’t offer included breakfast, was way further from 5th ave and was just not as nice. We weren’t super happy about that so my friend and I went back to the hotel a little later in the morning to see when we could come back and apparently the hotel got shut down for good? However we voiced our dislike of the new place they got us and they had us moved to a beautiful condo in the perfect location within 20 minutes. Really awesome staff, just a disappointing situation.

I booked a flight + hotel through Expedia at this property for one night. My flight down was delayed then reschedule due to airline staffing by 28 hours. This made me unable to attend my reservation. It was quite frustrating that neither Expedia nor the hotel were willing/able to do anything about it. While I’m sure the property would be lovely if I had been able to see it, I will be avoiding making any future reservations at this property.

Central location for good adventures
Internet connection needs to be improved definitely. Mainly available in surrounding of reception area. Mosquitos can be a nuisense.

The property is close to convenience stores, pharmacies, Walmart, ADO bus station, Banks, and 5 avenue, I mean like no more than 10 minutes away. The hotel itself is a gem, with rooms that surround a beautiful court yard with mature coconut trees and other flora and an incredible swimming pool that winds its way around this court yard with canals And steps going to the balconies on the first floor rooms. Because of the enclosed court yard, no noise comes in from the street, real quiet. There is a restaurant Attached to the court yard and to the street, great food and not expensive, fantastic service, you are served very quickly. I very much enjoyed my stay and was sad to leave, the rooms were great with super quiet air conditioning, comfortable pillow top beds and nice full comfortable pillows. My room opened to a nice size balcony overlooking the court yard, was totally blown away. Again a terrific place to stay and enjoy Playa Del Carmen.

Staff was very nice. Will stay here again. It was a good deal and Iwill be able to get by for a lot less money next time. Fell for few scams on a couple bottles of tequila and some cigars

I loved the room. We had a room that had a patio right before the entry of the room. It overlooked the pool. The Air conditioning in the room was great and the large windows,decor and lay out of the room were great. I loved that it was walking distance from the main road in Playa del carmen and walking distance to the ferry pier. I would stay here again and recommend it.

I really enjoyed my staying at the hotel. It is a beautiful oasis in the heart of Playa del Carmen. Very peaceful and perfect to relax. Room was clean, staff was always polite and helpful. The pool is amazing. Breakfast in the restaurant is also great with many choices from the meny. I would definitely go back!

The room was spacious and had two queen size beds which was perfect for myself and my mum. The pool was fantastic and the hotel was lovely and quiet even in such a close location to 5th Avenue. Great location and lovely staff!

Beautiful layout, beautiful rooms. Dining area could use air conditioning, as opposed to just fans. Pool sitting area could use fans to invite guests to sit out there by the pool. It was way too hot for me to sit by the pool and would have been out there if there were fans. Provide more information on tours.

Loved the customer service by the front desk staff, specifically Luis Corona who was very attentive to our needs and ensured that we weren’t left behind by our tour guides. He was also very knowledgeable about the various attractions in the area. Also loved the colorful hand stitched frames all over the hotel and that water (bottled) was provided daily by the cleaning staff.

Fix my mirror
The service by the restaurant staff top shelf service. I been there 3 years in a row but never mentioned by staff when I checked in. Need to know customer history with so much competition..Hector did. He moved to 2nd shift. I was wondering why I didn't see. He always remembers me every time..my room 204 the mirror is gross with stain drops all over it. Can't even use part of the mirror. I mentioned this issue to the GM and he never responded. Daily service in my room is always good..such excellent workers with big smiles always..a refresh of alls would go a long way.. you have a gem of a place and location keep it bright..also the restaurant on same side of road as you just next door. Excellent food top shelf service from David and the cook. Just amazing food. Please pass on to them. See you next year some time fix my mirror..lol

Excellent Place to Stay
The hotel has a quiet ambiance. Our stay was tranquil and relaxing. Beautiful pool and garden. Everyone was very friendly, polite and helpful. Our room was clean and had a fridge, TV, shampoos, soaps, hair dryer and everything else we needed. The location is great..close to delicious restaurants and shops. Walking distance to the ferry and bus station. No need for Taxi. The breakfast choices are delicious, served with juice and coffee and are included in the hotel price. Free WiFi. Loved our stay. Excellent. Most definitely would book again.

I would definitely stay at this hotel in the future. Alejandro, one of the front desk concierge's, was extremely helpful and super hospitable. The other two not so much and don't recall their names. The reason i didn't give this a perfect rating was because i was locked out of my room for about an hour one evening after having been at a theme park all morning and afternoon. I kept scanning my card and the room lock light wasn't going off. I told the guy at the front desk and he "activated" my cards again. I went back upstairs to the room and could still not get in. We did this back and forth like 3 or 4 times. I told him i didn't think it was the cards. Then he finally decided to call the person in charge of swapping batteries on the lock. That guy comes up and also struggled to get it open. Eventually he did but then only one of my key cards was working. I understand that this could happen with the locks and key cards but felt the front desk guy could have been the one to run up the 3 flights of stairs, back and forth, to determine if my key was working instead of having me do it. Also, some of the rooms face the main street which can be quite loud on the weekends. I would recommend switching rooms if you're in this predicament.

Amazing pool, quiet and serene. Great place to rejuvenate. Spa staff professional and well trained. Had a great massage and facial that competes with the Glen Ivy's here. Not a party hotel, but you are surrounded by party atmosphere so it's great to those who want balance in their vacation

The entire staff at La Tortuga was warm, friendly, quite helpful, and very guest oriented. They were attentive in every way.

Very cute property. Restaurant attached great staff and good food. Only issue room 204 was one of the few rooms directly facing bar across street. The load music and bass rattled on till 3 am. Not conducive for sleep.
