“Second visit”
This was our second visit; the first was last spring when the hotel was under construction. Everything is now finished and the place is amazing. Great rooms, good food, and outstanding service. The shuttle service to the other parts of the Gran Bahia and the beach is frequent and efficient. Would definitely stay here again.
“Very Impressive”
We booked this hotel, because it was a lot better price than the other Gran Bahia resorts. We did have access to all of them, and were able to use all the pools, beaches, restaurants, ect, so we thought for the great difference in price, we'd stay across the highway at Sian Ka'an and just utilize the shuttles to get back and forth. It was a great decision. Sian Ka'an is very new and clean. We felt like we were celebrities almost! Our room was huge and we were always treated wonderfully. If we go to Mexico again, we will definitely be back!
“"Beautiful property"”
Property is very well maintained. Beautiful landscape, scenery. Always see someone cleaning ground, trimming shrubs. Pool is small but very clean as well.
“A Gem in the Jungle”
The Gran Bahia Sian Ka 'an has to be the best boutique hotel in the Yucatan. This was my 6th trip in as many years to the Mayan Riviera. Having stayed at Riu Palace properties, the Valentin Imperial Mayan, the Barcelo Palace and the Gran Bahia Akumal, I have to say, this property tops them all. The food and service were exceptional. The room (a two-story penthouse) was simply amazing. The only drawback would be the distance to the beach. However, for the quality of the stay, the 20 minute shuttled trip to the beach was hardly a bother. I will absolutely stay at this property again if it is possible to book it when I travel.
“Sian Kaan”
Very modern and exclusive hotel. Great location, can go to the other Gran Bahia hotels.
“Great stay”
My junior Suite in the third floor overlooked the top of the trees; it was like being in the forest. The construction is solid concrete so the noise insulation was great. The room was spacious very bright but with roll up curtains in case you want some darkness during the morning hours, the bed was on the firm side. The bathroom was very modern with a step in shower. I guess the only downside is that if you don’t want to climb stairs or have problems with your knees you will find difficult or tiresome to go over the 40 steps each time you want to get to your room. The service at the hotel was fantastic. The buffet was good and I was very pleased with the food served at the two restaurants Alux and Maiko. They use top shelf liquors, contrary to other all inclusive and finally having access to the other 3 hotels was fantastic. The beach portion of the SianKan hotel is not good at all but same goes for the Tulum hotel portion. Its rocky with lots of seaweed, it was sad to see the hotel employees trying to clean-up the water from seaweed which seemed like it was never ending job. I was told that the Akumal portion of the beach was better but never got there. At least there are chairs in the beach so you can relax a bit there. The employees really work hard for what seems many hours, some of them earning around $6 usd a week (we asked) so a tip is always welcomed but I never felt pressured to provide it.
“Mexican Getaway!”
Check in was prompt, I thought her english was a bit rough, but she was speaking fast. My only disappointment here was that they did not tell us about the thrs night show at the Hacienda (we arrived on a thrs)-it is only done on thrs. All the reviews said it was fabulous and not to miss. Everything you read about Oscars margaritas (at the lobby bar) are true-they are yummy! Bartenders all over gave you whatever you wanted-all very accommodating. As were the waiters. Trams-There was never a time when we waited more than 5 min to get anywhere-they are very frequent, and speedy. Some reviews said you could walk to the beach-it would take more than 30 min to walk-it is literally a 5 min tram ride. It took a couple of days to get a handle on where they were going, but we learned that you just need to ask the drivers. Restaurants-The buffet was ok-I didn't find it extraordinary as some reviews stated-it was buffet food, and it was the same (with a couple changes)every night. Desserts were disappointing-but the coconut ice cream was superb! always a huge salad bar available-plenty of food that you could eat differently all week-but again,it was buffet food. We ate out mostly every night at the restaurants-japanese at sian kaan was very good-Don Pablo was avrg-nothing to rave about-but good food. The brazilian steakhouse was superb, as was the mexican restaurant (both at Tulum resort), best we had all week. Overall it was a great vacation-would definitely go back again!
“Great Place & Staff- Don't Miss Out”
Gran Bahía Príncipe Sian Ka'an is an absolutely fabulous resort. Their employees were very hard workers, personable, helpful and kind. The resort was very clean and modern. The access you will have to the other resorts were well worth the trip. The food options were endless along with the entertainment. They have a shopping center that was great for gifts to take home. No words could describe how wonderful this hotel is especially their staff. The adult only resort was a plus!
“Great Staff!!!”
We spent a total of 10 days at Sian Ka'an with a large extended family group of 15 adults and 3 children. Children's ages ranged from 6 months to 2 years and adults from early 20's to late 50's. On arrival the checkin process went smoothly and staff was extremely welcoming. This is especially surprising with such a large group and many different travel reservations among us. Bags were taken to our rooms and we were given a nice orientation of the resort amenities. This is a fairly new resort and the rooms were very nice and well appointed. We had members of the group booked in just about every room option so we got to see pretty much anything from the standard room to the rooftop suites. Food was excellent and the choices of cuisine many. There was also the options to use any of the neighboring Bahia resorts facilities including the restaurants. Sian Ka'an had the best of them all though and that includes the service. You just couldn't go wrong with any of them. The exclusive beach is a 1+ mile tram ride but never seemed out of reach. Trams were always running and it's actually a nice walk when you just need to work off some of that great food. It is a great swimming beach and there were plenty of Palapas for lounging under. Bar service was great! Staff was the highlight of this trip. They were always there to take care of all of our needs. Absolutely amazing and I really felt that they took the effort to make us all feel like we were a part of their family. Loved Sian Ka'an!
“Spoil yourself and just Go!”
Beautiful, quiet resort. Food at the buffet was wonderful. Alux gourmet restaurant was very good but portions are small. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. It was nice to be able to get away from the noise, crowds, and children at the end of a busy day at the beach or exploring the other 3 resorts. Not everyone speaks perfect English, but if I wanted everyone to speak my language, I would have vacationed in an English speaking country.
