Great hotel in great locationPosted Jul 26, 2014
Cons: Lighting in restrooms. This time the bar upstairs was closed but not a big deal since you are right in the middle of everything.
Location: The restaurants and night light of 5th avenue are right out the door.
This was my second stay and the magic blue and I still recommend it. its a quiet relaxed hotel that's right in the middle of the action. 3 blocks from the beach... 1 block from 5th. If you are looking for a party hotel with lots of people stay somewhere else. If you want a relaxing nice boutique hotel for a great price stay here! the courtyard and pool area are real nice. Breakfast is included at the restaurant next door and is good food.

Small, quiet hotel in the heart of the cityPosted Jul 20, 2014
The cons: the pool is hot, more like a warm bath than a refreshing cool splash, the lighting in the rooms is so bad it becomes great because of the experience. An LED reading light on either side of the bed and a small lamp above the bathroom is what you get. The LED bed lighting creates the exact opposite of a romantic glow- this struck me as annoying the first night and then by the end of the trip became just a charming little quirk. Breakfast next door is mediocre but not terrible. The PROs: the beds are comfortable, the wifi works great, the staff is friendly and hospitable, Manual makes a great drink at the bar and if you ask him, will play your iPod on his speakers so you can enjoy your playlist. The I-wishes: I wish they used mamitas or another beach club north of the pier, the water at indigo and coco was not as clear and the beach not as nice as we prefer. I wish the pool was cooler, the bar had draft beer, and breakfast was better. The takeaway: despite it's shortcomings, this place grows on you. My husband and I spent lazy twilight either watching netflix in our comfy room or chatting with Manual or other tourists by the pool. A nice place to come home to whether you beach are a beach bum, 5th avenue shopper or clubber, or an adventurist.

Awesome overallPosted May 27, 2014 on Hotels.com
Staff were very professional. I like that they have an toll-free US number you can call and they speak English very well. Also, it was truly magical. When we arrived, we were blown away with how nice the hotel was.

Excelent hotelPosted May 5, 2014 on Hotels.com
Very good hotel. Simple room, but very clean and nicely decorated. Good pool space. Nice region, very close to the beach and to the 5th Avenue. Quiet during the night.

Magic blue is a good value boutique hotel. A block off the main strip and a quick walk to a nice area of the beach.

Nice boutique hotel, horrible sleep.Posted Mar 14, 2014
Great location, nice pool area and bar. The room was very clean and the staff was friendly. No hot water the first day. safe didn't work and flashing lights and noise came into the room everynight. They need to invest in some black out curtains, shutters or think about removing the window looking out to the street. Breakfast was below average and could use improvement. Overall we were happy with our stay.
