Beautiful setting, delicious meals...

Great place to vacation. Rented a car at the Cancun airport for trips to the tulum and Chechen itza ruins and cenotes...wonderful. highly recommend this resort and location.

Rather Disappointing

Pros: Staff was helpful & friendly and guys at dive shop were awesome.
Cons: Free internet,
Location: location is fine, it is were it is, map it.
Check-in was bad, room not ready in time and nobody showed us to the room. Once in the room, no towels. Had to call twice to get towels and then an abundance of towels just kept coming every day but no washcloth/hand-towels.Overall the place was OK, beach was rough & rocky. Great dive shop on premisses but not great diving in the area. They charge extra for internet access and the cost of cigs. at the gift shop was outrageous.

"Oasis Hates You"

We were lucky and were upgraded to Grand Oasis Palm Beach, we stayed for 2 weeks Christmas and New Year. The hotel is not suited for the number of people staying there, there are line ups everywhere. Sometimes to get snacks you need to be in the line for 30 mins!!! To get into restaurant for breakfast another 30 mins. Beach is the different story, if you are not there by 9 am, you won't be able to get a bed, also if you somehow get a hold of the bed, there is no place to put it. The beach is so tiny and overcrowded. Also there is nothing to do in the evenings, the shows end by 10 pm and BTW they repeat them every week not as other resorts every second week, and you end up in the bar drinking.

Pros: The staff
Cons: Fix the water heaters and refrigerator and ban speedos.
Location: Snorkeling, scuba, mayan ruins.
We would definitely stay at the Oasis Tulum ONLY because the staff was so AWESOME. The water heater didn't work very well, so we didn't always have hot showers. The refrigerator barely worked, so our food/water really were not cold. There were many Italian sporting speedos. But those three things aside, our stay was incredible. The beach was beautiful. The staff could not have been more friendly and fun. Hector & Ben made sure we had fun every day we hung at the pool. Joel, who ran the snorkeling/diving stand was incredibly helpful and super nice. The staff at the buffet worked so hard and made us feel at home.

Pros: The hotel staff. Meeting people from all parts of the world. Seeing newborn sea turtles.
Cons: It appeared as though the resort was undergoing quite a bit of renovation. The pools close at 8pm.
Location: We enjoyed visiting Tulum and Playa Del Carmen as well as snorkeling with sea turtles and in cenotes.
We were deciding between two resorts. Our final decision was the fact that Oasis Tulum had a sushi bar. However, it turns out, that sushi bar is closed part of the year. We also did not realize there was a separate part of the hotel: "The Grand Oasis." We made friends with some people who were staying on the Grand side. One evening we walked up to one of theirs bars. The bartenders ignored us for quite some time (we had no idea we weren't allowed to order from their bars), and when they finally acknowledged us and we asked for a cup of coffee, we were told 1) they didn't have coffee (which was fine) 2) that we needed to leave - we didn't have the right wristband. Had they simply explained the situation, it wouldn't have been so bad, however, the bartenders were very condescending and rude. The saving grace was the hotel staff on the Oasis Tulum side. Everyone was very pleasant and anxious to make sure we enjoyed ourselves.

Nice hotel-all basic vacation needs, all inclusive

Pros: We liked the initimate atomospher, staff customer service, the beach, & the itinerary daily! Hector give us options & was a delight & enjoyable!
Cons: The water pressure & temperature in the bathroom.
Location: The hotel is a good distance from the "5th Ave" however that was not an overall issue since shopping was not a big goal.
Our last minute get away; theme was reconnecting with my teenager before school started! The hotel is initimate, clean, close to the beach, a number of pools to choose from, & the all inclusive package was a plus! The staff & service was always accomadating to our needs! Great choice, would not mind visiting again & will recommend.

Cons: the only thing I would recommend is having a choice of cream or regular milk.
Location: transportation was convenient
we had a wonderful time the staff was very helpful and polite . the food was delicious and plentiful.

Run down Resort on beautiful beach

Badly ran resort. Extremely short staff. Only 1 restaurant and 1 snack bar opened for lunch. Room smell horribly. But the resort has one of the most beautiful beach.

The Oasis resorts will need some major changes otherwise it will run out of business. Located on one of the most beautiful beach of Akumal, however the hotel is understaff. Rooms are badly smelled. Only snack and 1 restaurant are open for lunch (no lunch buffet). The whole resorts have 2 cappucino machine, 1 in the italian hotel which open at 12:30 noon, 1 self served, both are broken during our stay. No Free Wifi even in the lobby area.

The whole place smells bad, the services that they promise are simply not available: sorry it is not working today, oh we don't have that, maybe tomorrow we will have it...
