Disappointed all-aroundPosted Apr 18, 2014
Pros: The couples massage was heaven!
Cons: Service, room quality, service ... don't let your guests pay extra for the concierge floor just to end up having to go on a time-share waste.
Location: Xcaret park was nice; do see the Mexico history show; well worth the 2 hours! Playa del Carmen beach, restaurants, and shopping were nice.
I had been to this hotel five years ago and loved everything about it ... staff, service, rooms, etc. However, after this stay, I would never go back. We were so looking forward to our trip away and what a disappointment. The front desk was friendly when they said NO to everything (No you can't use the coupon we gave you for that, NO you cannot get your shower-head fixed (sprayed everywhere except where you needed it to), NO you cannot get a mattress pad to make the rock bed feel more comfortable) service at ALL the eating areas, including the 'reserved' restaurants, was terrible; not attentive, not friendly, I actually had to bus our own table one evening. This hotel used to serve high-end / premium alcohol/drinks ... still advertise this on their web-site by the way.... nope, no prime tequila this adventure; couldn't even pay extra for it. As a matter of fact, one of the restaurants had premium bottles out-side of the entrance but they weren't available?!?!? Seriously? That is how I generally pick my all-inclusive ... premium alcohol. We actually left for a day to locate good service, taxi to Playa ... WELL worth escaping ($30 round-trip). The last time I went there were not so many children (12 and under) every-where. The 'quiet-pools' even turned out to be a giant kiddie-park. We sat out by the salt-water pool; I think it looks dangerous (it is not) and parents would not let all their children run around out there.

Nice family hotelPosted Apr 9, 2014
Pros: Food was good and the staff was very friendly. Lots to do for the whole family.
Cons: more comfortable beds and pillows.
This was our first trip to Mexico and really loved the hotel. There was a lot to do and the hotel staff was very friendly. The food was good and there was always a great variety to choose from. The only thing I didn't like was the "concierge" in the lobby of each building trying to get to you go to breakfast or lunch so that they can try and sell you stays at their other hotels.

Very nice hotel but could be betterPosted Apr 1, 2014
Overall I enjoyed my holiday at this hotel. The grounds are extensive, well kept and interesting with an abundance of wildlife and foliage to admire. The layout of the hotel is also very nice indeed with a river running through it stocked with some beautiful fish to admire. The downside for me was that in some places, including our room, there is some refurbishment needed where paint is pealing, toilet seat not attached properly etc. Also I was disappointed with the main bar area being tucked away out of site and not big enough for all who use it. I also found the entertainment programme not always listed on the main notice board and not up to the standard I would have expected it to be. The food choice and quality was always very good, certainly enough different choices to suit everyone and even at busy times was more than able to cope. Saying all this I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. ly enjoyed my stay hear.

Very nice family-friendly resort.Posted Mar 31, 2014
Location: The XCaret park adjacent to the hotel is definitely a worthwhile trip - especially to see the evening show.
My wife and I had a great time at this resort. The beach is pretty and clean, the staff is friendly, the food is good, and the setting was beautiful.

Nice, not too crowded, beautiful sceneryPosted Mar 19, 2014
Most of the staff are Mayan Indians. When you go to this place not only you get an excellent experience but you also support the Mayas. Very cool. Nothing is perfect in this world but overall I'm sure you'll be very satisfied with your visit here. The sound insulation between adjacent rooms can be improved.

Nice hotel, beach cove within walking distance.Posted Mar 14, 2014
Pros: All inclusive
Cons: Food quality. No bacon at all at breakfast buffets. Poor quality of pancakes and french toast.
Location: Xcaret Park is absolutely worth the cost and time. Great time there and the Spectacular event in the evening is well worth it.
Welcomed nicely and booked dinners in special clubs up front. One day we did not have towels in the room and only received new ones the next day after telephoning and asking for them. Food is on the sparse side. Quality not as good as last year. Paint peeling in some places and wood bridges need repair. Trolly not working last night we were there and had to walk in the rain to a booked restaurant on site. Called for bellman at 6:15 am and had to call 2 more times before he arrived for a 7:50 am pickup, leaving us 20 minutes to eat and checkout.

Nice hotel, amazing rainforest surroundings.Posted Mar 10, 2014
Pros: We loved the idea of a hotel set in a rainforest surroundings. Not too many resorts have this idea and we have experienced many resorts in our lifeti
Cons: We would like to see a bar in the lobby and a better bigger disco for nightlife.
Location: Definitely must see Xcaret park, Chichen Itza, Xelha and for shopping, playa del carmen.
We loved the service, food, and the Xcaret park experience. Chichen Itza was amazing and the Cenotes. Had a wonderful time visiting colonial towns and spending time at Playa del carmen beach and shopping.
