Good choice

Very clean, quiet hotel with excellent, attentive staff. Beach is small but big enough. Hotel never seems full. Restaurant food is first class. Plenty of other places to eat nearby. Would go back.

Fantastic operation! Best service we've had in years. Highly recommend. Only issue in 5 days was a broken mini-fridge.

Fabulous botique hotel and location.

Pros: We upgraded to ocean view and it is worth it. Every inch of it is picture postcard. In room Breakfast. Service of staff. Right on ocean & Marina.
Cons: More information when you arrive about the non brochure Marina amenities. Example: the great little market, who has live music which nights.
Location: The Marina area, right outside the front entrance, is charming. The Dolphin experiece is fabulous. Walk past the Dolphin pools to see rocky coast.
After talking to many people before and during our trip, in Puerto Aventuras I would only stay at the Omni or rent a house if w/ a larger group. It is perfectly located for a stay in PA. Their food (and ice!) is all 'safe" and very good. The only restaurant as good as Omni is (a MUST for dinner 1X) Pelican Pointe. All alcoholic drinks in PA are $$$, unless you go to Happy Hour at Omni, which is great. It is much more cost effective to purchase alcohol at the Market across from the Omni entrance if you drink other than Happy Hour. The Dolphin center is the 2nd reason we chose the Omni. We had a great day with manatees, dolphins and sea lions. Because there was an unseasonable tropical storm hovering when we arrived the Dolphin options were negotiable. When it rains heavily some Marina businesses close or offer shorter hours, however I loved the drama of rain and ocean on the Omni patio. My daughter was the sun bunny and the sun did come out and she got her tan. We used Caracol travel which is very efficient, reasonable for Cancun to and is around the hotel for day trips most of the time. HOWEVER, long before departure CONFIRM your return. They will try to hustle you into a different time to accomodate new customers if you do not do that. We believe the Omni is as cost effective and much more personalized and elegant than the PA all inclusives. The staff at the Omni at all levels gives fabulous helpful service.

Omni Puerto Aventuras a four star boutique hotel

Posted May 19, 2014
Pros: The quiet room with neutral decor; huge walk in shower; upscale hangars in the closet; plenty of storage space
Cons: Menu pricing needs work. Perhaps adding a daily flat fee to cover tipping as is done on cruise ships? Beer on tap would be most welcome.
Location: Puerto Aventuras is one hour south of Cancun. It is clean, safe and scenic.
Omni Puerto Aventuras is a hotel that will exceed your expectations. With the half board all inclusive plan you get an a la carte breakfast; a choice of lunch or dinner (choose dinner) and a limited snack and drink menu available from 11 to 4 at the Pina Colada beach bar. Portions are generous and they offer both Mexican and Continental menu items. The restaurant has a verandah facing the sea, it is ideal for both breakfast and dinner. The rooms are spacious, comfortable with individual air conditioning and all have a view either of the marina or of the Mediterranean. Towels are thick, fluffy and plentiful; you leave the wet beach towels in a hamper in your room and they are replaced daily. There is a gym in the far wing of the hotel, be sure and inquire about the yoga lessons, they are 90 minute sessions open to the sea breezes and are divine. What you do not get here is neither draft beer nor any drinks from the lobby bar unless you are prepared to pay extra. Wine is available at dinner only in the restaurant. After every order for either food or drink you are presented with a "bill" and expected to tip on the total. The prices are high, about 2.5 times what you might pay in the States. A cup of espresso is about $6.00 US! This is a source of anger for many guests and the staff take the brunt of this frustration.

Great location

Posted May 16, 2014
Pros: Staff, location, food
Cons: update rooms
Location: Beach, marina, cenotes, Tulum
I'd been to the Omni before but never stayed there. Fantastic location on the beach and close to the marina, shopping etc. Nice pools, terrific food, fabulous, friendly staff. The room was fairly spacious, appreciated the outdoor seating and hammock.Excellent shower. Comfortable bed but the rest of the room is getting a bit dated. Not a big deal as we didn't spend too much time indoors. The only negative for us is that we asked for a quiet room when we booked. Our room overlooked the marina and some nights there was a band playing across the street until 11pm We will certainly stay at the Omni again.

Not much to do in this area. Bed was hard as a rock!!!! Not much sleeping. I would not go back even though the staff was friendly. Food was okay.

If you do not want the buzz of cancun but rather chill out in a relaxed community, this is the right place for you.
