Great little hotel!Posted May 21, 2014
Pros: Excellent staff. Clean hotel and rooms. Quiet in the evenings. Close to everything ... walk to 5th, the beach, the ferry, Wal-Mart, Mega Store, etc
Cons: It's being done now. The hotel is being renovated and updated now. That said the hotel is not old so the renovations are just improvements.
Location: As I said located strategically in the midst of many ideal things.
The Playa del Carmen Hotel by H&A isn't a big all inclusive. If that's what you're looking for then you've come to the wrong place. However if you want a nice, clean, low cost hotel close enough to 5th and downtown to walk there but removed enough to allow you to get a quiet nights rest, then this is the place. This is a great spot for adventurers ... people that don't sit around all day drinking and eating. Rent a car, get out, see the Riviera. Then head back to this great hotel to unwind and relax. The rooms have kitchenettes, the hotel has a pool, and in general it is a quiet, clean place. Yes they are renovating but the work never starts before 9 or 10 AM and is done by 4 or 5 PM. You have to renovate in order to improve and grow. We've stayed in the PDC area 4 times in the past 5 years. We've done everything from the massive all inclusive resort, to the tiny boutique hotels. The Playa del Carmen Hotel by H&A is perfect for us ... the people that jump in a car in the morning and head off to mountain bike in the jungle, snorkel on a reef, go diving, deep sea fish, or whatever other adventure we decide to try. Why waste money on a giant resort if we only need a clean and pleasant place to unwind and sleep. Thank you to everyone at the Hotel Playa del Carmen.

The Hotel is ok for the price, but the breakfast is the worst breakfast I ate in my life...

Not good !!Posted Apr 22, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel is under construction , smells. Ugly , it hasn't have a view to the beach and. Is 4 blocks from the beach, and the price was bad for the one stay, so go and spent your money and other hotel. And enjoy playa del carmen, is the best. !!

Easy living...Posted Apr 18, 2014
Pros: the pool, the fact that it had a little kitchenette. location.
Cons: clean the balcony. Some customer service.
Location: This hotel is next door to a public transportation station to travel to Xcaret, Cancun, Tulum and other close by attractions, and 5ts ave.
We chose this hotel because it was not to far not to close to the 5ta avenida, where all the action is in this town (walking distance).

Quiet hotel but close to the beachPosted Apr 8, 2014
Pros: Pool, location close to centre but afr enough away to be quiet at night
Location: Three blocks to the beach, shopping street and ADO bus depot for Cancun airport and several cities in the Yucatan.
Overall good, one problem was the aircon! Arrived at 9.00pm and the room was like a fridge, aircon must have been left on all day, so first thing I do is switch it off, then go out to eat. When I get back later the aircon is making lots of noises, like pipes contracting/expanding, which some older aircon system do, but usually only for a short while. This one carried on all night and I had to use earplugs to get some sleep. Next day it was OK because it had been left switched off all the time. Left a note for the maid (in Spanish) NOT to switch the aircon on. Came back later, and she had obviously ignored my request because the aircon was gurgling away again. Luckily it stopped before evening. The aircon unit was an antiquated 'thru the wall' type, and probably needed replacing, or at the very least servicing. The room had a very efficient ceiling fan which for me was preferable to the noisy aircon.

Good position, near everything.Posted Mar 1, 2014
Cons: Better coffee!
Being on avenue 20 this hotel was not in loud, tourist part so it was quieter and far more civilised! It had local restaurants near by and what was good it was next door to the shuttle bus depot to go anywhere. Also walking distance to bus station.. Rooms clean, swimming pool, breakfast if wanted. Helpful staff.

basic hotel needs, they didn't honor the discount I was told I would get for at least four nights stay, and they didn't clean the room unless we reminded them to do so. The 1 "queen bed" we got was 2 twin beds put together.
