Too far from beach....too many bugs in roomPosted Aug 5, 2009
Compared to the other Riu properties in Playacar, this one seemed to be the oldest, most run-down, and in desperate need of upgrading. It wasn't terrible, and the food was very good, and the staff was most friendly/helpfull...but the bugs in the room...particularly bathroom...were pretty bad. You have to take a bus to the beach, but the return bus quits at 6pm....wayyyy too early. Also, the all-inclusive does NOT include the Riu Palace, which is where the Lupita beach club is. You have to walk 15-25 mins to the Riu Yucatan, or Riu Playacar for a drink or a meal. MOST inconvenient. We would try those other Riu's, but not the Lupita again.

Good enoughPosted Mar 12, 2009
Decent hotel. Could always find something I like to eat. Was the best deal for an all inclusive when I booked.

All inclusive part-wonderful, Bed-terriblePosted Mar 11, 2009
The hotel was exactly what we were looking for for a few days away. Next time we would like to bring our kids. The only thing that would keep us from not coming back were the comfort of the beds. They were ROCK hard. Everything else was pretty perfect!

Memorable vacation!!Posted Dec 27, 2008
Riu Lupita was complete value for money. Good food, drinks, entertainment, and most importantly excellent service. We would always be greeted with a smile, right from the recpetion desk to the restaurant staff, all were courteous and polite. Great place for kids as well, they had lotsa fun activities for children everyday. WE will definitely go back to Riu Lupita.

Great hotel for reasonable pricePosted Dec 17, 2008
The food was great - wide variaty. The amenities of the hotel sufficient. The liquor dispenser were a joke. The worst liquor we have ever had. But the drinks at the bar were great. They had everything. As well great animation and events during the week. Shuttle bus to beach club was convenient (every other half an hour) and it only took 15 min. to get to the beach. The bus stopped as well at Playa del Carmen. You can use two other Riu Hotels too(Beach, Beach Bar, Lunch, Pool ...) that was great. The food at the Riu Lupita Beach Club was good but they only had beer, wine and non alcoholic drinks, therefore we went to the other Riu Hotels, they had a complete bar with everything. Anyway, the beach area was great with a lot of Palm Trees, you felt very safe the whole time. If you want to book trips, try the people at the beach or the companies at Playa del Carmen. We booked a trip with our travel agency and we payed double as we would have paid at the beach and/or Playa del Carmen.

Would LOVE to go back!Posted Nov 12, 2008
The hotel was very nice. It had a relatively authentic mexico feel to it. The food was good. The beds were a little firm but still nice. The staff was very willing to help in any way possible. Highly recomend this place!

Satisfied CustomerPosted Nov 1, 2008
We enjoyed our stay at the Riu Lupita very much. The staff was very friendly and always ready to assist us in whatever we needed. The buffet was different every night and always delicious. We will definitely stay at this hotel on our next visit.

Good placePosted Aug 20, 2008
The Hotel is good, I felt really well staying there for over 2 weeks. The kitchen is not very clean though, it could be so much better, thats something the hotel has to work on in order to be a real 5 starts hotel as it claims. The internet service is really overpriced and they have no wireless service at all, again, a 5-starts hotel should be better at that and Mexico is not anymore a 3rd-world country at all.

great family placePosted Jul 30, 2008
There is a nice, family friendly vibe all over the place. The entertainers really make the place. Great for children, this is a small hotel, so there are no elevators, no long complicated walks from one place to the other. The food is very good, you have everything you can possibly want.
