“Wonderful experience”
We had a wonderful experience in Riu Lupita. We loved everything about it, and can't wait to go back!!!
“i can't wait to go again”
i hope they keep up the good work, everyone was very helpful and friendly, very clean and well kept hotel
“Good place”
The Hotel is good, I felt really well staying there for over 2 weeks. The kitchen is not very clean though, it could be so much better, thats something the hotel has to work on in order to be a real 5 starts hotel as it claims. The internet service is really overpriced and they have no wireless service at all, again, a 5-starts hotel should be better at that and Mexico is not anymore a 3rd-world country at all.
“WILL DEFO BE GOING BACK...OUR NEW FAV PLACE”
from the start it was easy: got on flight, arrived in cancun, walked out of airport to a bnch of sales ppl offering this and that..walked up to a girl who looked like she knew what we were doing and asked her where do we get the bus to playa del carmen, she told us where and when it would get here, we paid her, and she gave us our tickets, think two tickets cost about $30 give or take and they were one way, we bough our return at the bus station in playa DC on the way home... got to Playa DC and the bus dropped us at the central bus station (70min ride) where we got a taxi to our hotel, taxi cost $5 and took about 4-5 mins ride. CHECK-IN AND ROOMS...easy peasy! room was fine, nothing to scream about, tile floors, comfy bed, AC was a blessing, balcony over looking fab pool, close to everything, mini bar and fridge were very well stocked, room cleaned daily, bath tub was great for a good soak. TV had lots of channels in english. HOTEL PROPERTY: very well maintained, staff very very frendly, restaurants very good, pool side bar, below basic, but main two restaurants were great, for breakfast lunch and dinner. servers were great too, even though the buffet is self service, you have an escort to your table...3 pools, 2 of which were open and NEVER over crowded, and are open 24/7. relly nice property for a leisurey walk in the evenings, yes there are wildlife running around, but they are as afraid of you as you are of them! we had no probs with mosquitos like a previous post said.
“Can't wait to go back. Great Hotel”
Staff very friendly and helpful. Felt welcomed. There services all in all were great! Will concider it again.
“Loved it!!”
I would definitely go there again!!! The staff was amazing, the rooms were cozy (besides the hard bed, but you get used to it) Riu Lupita was my home for 9 days, and i enjoyed every second of it, i totally recommend this place to anyone and everyone! The entertainment was also... very entertaining! Also, if you're looking to go to Chitzen Itza or Coba/Tulum, go to 10th or 5th Ave or anywhere around there to find tickets because you will save a ton of money! And if you can, try Xel-Ha, probably the most fun i had in Mexico.
“RIU Lupita: Amazing Resort at a Value Price”
We read mixed reviews, but loved this place. The grounds are well-maintained and border a golf course. Reviewers complained about rude French guests, but we found everyone polite. The waiters and maids are very friendly & hard-working. A daily one-dollar tip is appreciated. We never ate at the fancier sit-down restaurant, because the buffet was so great. There's a huge variety of food to pick from, beautifully presented and fresh. It's a family resort, and the evening entertainment sometimes included kids up on stage to sing & dance. Expedia's prepaid hotel transportation worked out fine. We went after the spring break and it was fairly quiet. All in all, a great relaxing vacation. The hotel is inland so they provide a shuttle to take guests to the beach and the Playacar shopping area. The Lupita beach club has snacks & beverages. We swam every day (1-2 hours). The water at the beach is wavy, so stay behind the jetties if you are not a strong swimmer. Good snorkeling is at Xel-Ha or Cozumel. My wife found the bed hard, so she put extra blankets under the fitted sheet. In-room fridge/minibar & liquor dispensers all free and included. Drinks & beer at the buffet & poolside bar are good, plentiful, and included. BEWARE of time share guys lurking at the airport. They are charming and offer you cheap deals on local attractions, but a time share appointment way up in Cancun, will be a 6-hour trip (2-hour taxi trip). If you must, visit a timeshare in Playa del Carmen.
“More than expected”
I loved this location although it was somewhat confusing getting there. It was easy to make friends here becuse the hotel had nightly entertainment, It was perfect and I was even surpirised that my mini bar was filled with sodas and beers that I took on my roadtrips.
“Amazing Hotel and Staff”
Riu Lupita is a family friendly environment. The location is beautiful and the staff members are very attentive. There was not one bad day or a moment I wasn't having fun. Definitely planning to go back soon!!!!!! Never wanted to come back.
“Satisfied Customer”
We enjoyed our stay at the Riu Lupita very much. The staff was very friendly and always ready to assist us in whatever we needed. The buffet was different every night and always delicious. We will definitely stay at this hotel on our next visit.
