A lovely place to stayPosted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: We traveled in all european countries but in none of those the hotel staff was like here. The staff behavior is not fake. They are realy friendly!!
Cons: When the wind blows from the ocean a lot of noxes from the watersport engines intoxicate us on the beach. I suggest to reset the boundaries for boats.
Location: The Playacar area is great. It is like a minitown with 10 hotels. The tourists are free to go, eat, drink everywhere. The sand and water are amazing.
The hotel is not a 5star+ compared to other luxury hotels from Europe, but this does't matter. I prefere to go to hotels like RIU PALACE MEXICO. The hotel is clean!! We felt excelent! Staff amazing!! They made us to feel excelent!! This is all it matters. Water and sand amazing!!! Playacar amazing!! Mexicans (taxidrivers, people from the street) very frindly and willing to help!! Xcaret, XelHa, Xplore parks amazing!! Chichen Itza and Coba amazing!!! Cancun area sucks!!! DO NOT GO TO CANCUN!! It is a time lose!! It is a imitation of US cities. If you want to see great US cities go to Vegas, NY, San Francisco, Miami, and other. NOT Cancun!! Try to explore the Riviera Maya and other genuine mexican areas by yourself! Mexico have one big problem! The corruption is huge!!

Great resort!Posted Mar 1, 2014
Pros: The beach, the food and the staff.
Cons: The way they hand out numbers for the specialty restaurants. There was a day when people who just arrived tried to get ahead of others already waiting
Location: 25 minute walk on the beach to downtown Playa Del Carmen, a couple of miles to Xcaret.
Very close to downtown shopping at Playa Del Carmen & Xcaret. The food was fantastic, the hotel staff friendly & attentive.

The hotel was very nice. It was on the beachPosted Feb 23, 2014
Pros: We had the advantage of going to other hotels to swim and visit but preferred to stay where we were.
Cons: It was loud in our rooms when we went back early to rest. Not much sleep except at night.
Location: There is shopping and the beach with parasailing and jet skis. One of the pools thought scuba diving and there were always activities at the pool.
The pool and beach were semi crowded but it was easy to find a chair. We had a great time at the pool bar.

Spacious comfortable room.Posted Feb 6, 2014
Liked just about everything. Only faults is that there should be more elevators and ice machines.

2nd time at Riu Palace MexicoPosted Jan 28, 2014
Pros: the elegance, staff, rounds, food +++++ Location
Cons: Perhaps the indoor entertainment stage and events (or perhaps Post up the events at the other local Riu's
Location: jet ski, kayak sail ATV parachute Diving 5th ave shopping in Playa De Carmen Ferry to Cozumel
I have logged over 25 trips to the Carribean and Mexico. This was my 2nd 7 nights at the Riu Palace Mexico. I must say that this was one of the cleanest &, classy beautiful hotels I have stayed in. Grounds are immaculent, staff superb, presentation & quality of food one of the best and available everywhere. Every staff member always helpful Beaches clean. The grounds, pool areas and beach buffet have all been redone since visiting two years ago (not that it needed it). The courtyard for evening open air entertainment romantic. Cons: this might not really be a negative. If you are looking for a larger stage an more robust evening entertainment simply walk across the the other Riu right across the street and keep the quieter romantic courtyard at RPM for when u just want to sit back, slow dance and have a drink. Remember, you can use the RIU facilities next door & across the street. I encourage you the visit there to round out you vacation RIU ******

Great hotel, lacked nothingPosted Jan 27, 2014
Pros: The staff ! I can't say enough about the people. They make you feel so welcome and comfortable.
Cons: I feel they should have restricted areas for children, they should not be allowed in the bar area or at the restaurants that require reservations.
Location: Within walking distance there is a small shopping area where you can get souvenirs as well as a small drug store that has daily essentials.
The hotel Riu Palace Mexico was fantastic. The staff is top notch, the people are the friendliest people I've ever encountered at a hotel. They make sure your every need has been met without being pushy or bothersome. The only problem I encountered was a broken blow dryer but when I called the front desk they sent a maintenance worker and he replaced it. We also wanted a room with a better view and we were accommodated.

Nice hotel but I tried better ones in playaPosted Jan 13, 2014
Pros: Modern and new renovated
Cons: Need to improved the menu
Location: Quinta avenida
Hotel didn't have people outside to get your luggage / they have a bad system on doing dinner reservations / food was ok not great / room service just to call them was really hard to get in touch w then and they didn't have that many options on the menu / also they said all inclusive but they didn't wanna deliver bottle champagne on my room My room was pretty and modern. But al the hotels are so close to each other so I could hear at night time the noise club from the next hotel. Won't go back
Extremely noisy all you can eat sold as 5 starsPosted Dec 30, 2013
Pros: Krystal restaurant inside the complex was very good.
Cons: Noise insulation
Location: The beach in front of the hotel is very good, white sand and clean water.
The rooms are extremely noisy, the halls reverberate every single sound. doors are being literally slammed every minute as staff is continuously cleaning the place. Everything smells of insecticides. The facilities - gym, swimming pools - are good, but crowded. The mexican restaurant inside the complex has average food and a depressing atmosphere. The Mariachis singing at the bar are average as well. It's an all you can eat crowded place sold as 5stars luxury.
