“Great Hotel to Relax not a party place”
This is a great hotel for relaxing with a love one that you would want to spend some needed special time alone. The Hotel is beautiful and the service was incredible. It's not your average hotel with the family and the kids running around. And it's not the hot party all-night hotel either. It's mostly laid back and relaxing. After dark it's almost nothing open but a small bar with live music. We never went out late at night but were never interrupted with loud music blaring all around like other comparable resorts that I could hear their music from the beach. That was one of the things I enjoyed the most but I realize that quite is not for everyone at all time. My only few complaints were that in my room, I could see spots or area that could use a craftsman’s touch. I also didn’t like making reservations for dinners at the restaurants. However we thought that the food was excellent. We stayed 7days so we ate in all of them and enjoyed every minute. We were guided to make all the reservation on the first night of arrival. So we did and I would also recommend that also. I would highly recommend this hotel for couples but not for all singles.
“Highly Recommended”
My husband and I spent part of our honeymoon in this hotel resort and it was spectacular. We enjoyed almost every aspect of this hotel: from the food (which was exceptional! it was our first time at all-inclusive and we were impressed!) to the great service from their staff. They make you feel like royalty at dinner and when you get back to your room, the staff has prepared your bed for the night. The beach is beautiful and quite clean and the pools are fabulous (only complaint is that the pools are not heated! We went during the off-season and it was quite chilly in the afternoon). We highly recommend this hotel and hope to be back one day!
“So, So”
The property overall was nice. We were disappointed in the type and availability of bars. None in the lobby area during the day and very limited seating @ the bar. In the event of inclement weather only small indoor bar area. Food was good as was the service. Only two nights a week with entertainment other than piano bar and singer.
“2nd trip to Royal Hideaway and cannot wait to go back!”
My husband and I first stayed at Royal Hideaway 5 years ago on recommendation of our friends to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We loved it so much we returned this month for our 15th. If you are looking for a resort that is quiet, peaceful, relaxing and all-around fabulous, this is the place for you. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The restaurants are designed to be a relaxing experience and the food is great. The grounds are beautifully maintained. The pool, cabana and refurbished beach (2010) are exceptional. We rode on bicycles we borrowed at the resort into Playa for shopping. Very fun! We walked the beach and picked up tons of shells to take home (to our kids delight). It was the perfect getaway from our very busy schedule and family to reconnect with each other and recharge our batteries. We cannot wait to go again!!!
“Fantastic stay, great water, super service, delicious food”
First trip to Royal Hideaway after many other stays at differing locations between Puerto Morales and Playacar. Best so far...check it out. Super beach, good service, comfortable room, small hotel feel, terrific location.
“Wow!”
This was a very well needed getaway and the hotel it's staff and restaurants were extremely impressive! From the staff waiting on you hand and foot to the personalize attention in greetings and service this is by far the best resort we have been to You can see how they got their diamond rating from the moment you check in with a glass of champagne to the personalize greeting in your room This will definitely be our yearly sanctuary and a must for those looking for some much needed R&R! Loved it
“Amazing vacation thanks to Royal Hideaway!!”
We checked into the Royal Hideaway after leaving another all-inclusive resort close by after one night's stay. The other place was such a dump. We were so happy to find Royal Hideaway and that they had availability. It was an amazing facility, great beach access and shaded beach areas. The negative edge pool gave you a great view of the beach while laying around it and while you are in it. The restaurants were awesome - great service and wonderful food. Make your reservations for dinner early so you can choose the best time for you, they seemed to book up for the 7-9 pm time before we even checked in. Our concierge service was great and we loved that they knew us by name right away. Also, I loved that there were no wristbands to wear all week like the crappy resort we checked into first. Loved it, loved it, loved it. We will definitely stay here again!!
“Review: Royal Hideaway Playacar”
First and foremost, this is definitely a beautiful resort that fits the "hideaway" terms very nicely. It doesn't have a grand entrance like some other resorts, which in a way is a pity since I personally tend to favor them. The water/beach is the best I've seen. Extremely clean and beautiful! It was breathtaking Pros: The service is exceptional. All employees are very courteous, friendly, and make an extended effort to know your name, although they keep it formal. It is the only resort that I have been to that cleans your room twice a day (which is awesome I might add). - I love the infinity pool that overlooks the beach. - Beautiful resort property - Concierge service is pretty good and helpful Cons: - No towel animals when the room is cleaned! ( I always looked forward to these) - Food presentation is spectacular, food quality and quantity is mediocre at best. It's extremely repetitive. - Very few activities, so this resort is not for people who want to party. It's dead quiet in the evening, to the point of boredom. - No swim up bar, this would have been a great addition. - Throughout the resort there are man-made ponds which are desolate to look at. Re-do them and fill them with fish or something other than tan-brown. It really does not add to the property beauty. - They have a habit of assuming that two people are married or on a honeymoon, perhaps it's a safe assumption, but it would have been nice if they asked before assuming.
“Best Hotel in all of Playa”
Where do we start... This hotel is amazing!!! We have made sveral trips to Mexico, including Playa and Cabo. When we travel we like to feel like we are on vacation and treated like we are specail guests. We always look for the top rated hotels. When we saw that this was one of only a few 5 Diamond hotels in Mexico we decided to check it out. We can definately say this is the best hotel/resort we have ever stayed in. The service was incrediable! The staff always had a smile and were always attending to your every need. Lord willing, we will be going back each year for many years to come. We HIGHLY recommend this resort!!!
“Hiding Away”
Travelled with husband and two other couples. We had a wonderful time. Very relaxing and a beautiful place. Wish they had better beach chairs and more small tables on teh beach. Experienced some difficulty with making dinner reservations, but the food was delicious. Be sure to try all of the restaurants. If you're there long enough to rotate through all of them, it's best to not have the same dish twice as they are a little lacking in consistency. All in all, it was a wonderful expreience.
