“Wedding on the Beach”

Had a small wedding on the beach with my wife and 3 children. Everything was great. The staff was superb, friendly and helpful. Most impressive were the pictures taken by Marco. 5th Ave was disappointing as the prices were sky high and the venders were not just aggressive but down right RUDE. Had no problem making reservations at the eateries. The Brazilian themed one was the best. Beach was a bit rocky, but we still had so much fun, especially going out on the hobie cat.

“Simply ~ A Perfect Vacation Resort”

Can't give enough positive feedback on this Hotel - completly amazing- I have read some reviews about musty rooms and not as good experiences, but I would imagine those were the rooms further back by the wetter jungle areas, we had one of the front "beach" area rooms and couldn't have asked for better. The resort is Huge - to us it was more important to have the ocean views and be close to the main pool, so we paid a little more - and upgraded to Select club - as they say, you get what you pay for, i'm so glad we upgraded and would highly recommend - The entire resort is impecable !!! people walking around sweeping walkways, washing, feeding animals - there was nothing out of place ever, dishes didn't sit in front of you for more than 30 seconds after completing a meal and servers were very quick and responsive - drinks were great, shows, entertainment everything was perfect - - The only advise I can give, is use the mosquito repellent in the areas where they suggest - they have repellent at certain areas for a reason !! I came back with a lot of bites on my legs because I didn't use it,, and that was only back in the jungle areas and where the Ruins are. This is a top notch place, loved it and will go back anytime I chose to visit Mexico.

“Fun vacation for the family - highly recommended”

Wonderful place to chill and relax...so glad we picked it... Location: 45 mins from airport and far enough to avoid the crowds Hotel Areas: Anything away from the beach was HOT but to it's credit the Resort has lots of trees all over. Restaurants were comfortably cooled. We were there in mid-Aug so the heat was expected, I suppose. Restaurants/Food: We are vegetarian and can't speak highly of Rigoberto, the Food Manager. He had custom food made for us each lunch/dinner and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Did get a bit tired of eating the buffet breakfast. Need reservations (they fill up fast) at any of the sit down restaurants so reserve early. Lots of bars all over the resort with decent variety of drinks. Pools: There are only 2 pools but we were right next to the main one so just used that. Has a baby pool next to the main pool which was great for the little one. Gets a bit crowded though sometimes. Beach: Water and sand was nice but the beach is a bit rocky. Room: Wonderful! Slight wear and tear but nothing blatantly bad. Ours was right next to the beach and main pool so can't complain. Room Service staff was good. Entertainment: Caught the Michael Jackson tribute and a Mayan dance on the beach. Very professionally done! Kids Club: We only used it 2-3 times for a couple hours each but kids were happy. Staff did not have time to play with kids or entertain them so I'd say it works ok if the kids can entertain themselves.

“"Mini vacation"turned into the best vacation yet!”

My husband and I spent 4 nights/5days here and booked this trip 5 days before we left. It was supposed to be a "mini-vacation" get away and if turned out to be one of the BEST vacations we have taken! The resort was beautiful and our check-in was welcoming with a drink offered to us right away which was nice after travel. When I booked this hotel I was a bit nervous considering it seemed it catered to familes and children more than couples but it truly had so many areas and activities at the resort for couples which was great. We stood at the select club adults only section with a private pool, your own restaurant and jacuzzi which is warm, and romantic but not stuffy. There is also a private section on the beach with cabanas and very comfortable beds to lay on while sun bathing where snacks and drinks are offered to you all day! We did massages on the beach, we also booked the romantic tour the hotel offers for couples which is definitely amazing with a bottle if champaign and chocolate covered strawberries. Our room had a small balcony facing nothing which would of been nice if it faced the open or pool area, but honestly I got over that because the king size bed was so comfy and room clean and comfortable. It has a flat scene tv, large bathroom but no jacuzzi which I was a bit upset about but another thing I got over after my experience here. The food here was great at the entire resort from breakfast buffet to the late night A Snack bar! Also this resort has a new club.

“Had a great time! We will go back!”

We had a very enjoyable stay at Sandos Caracol Eco Resort & Spa. There were two things disappointing on our trip. Our son was attacked by another child in the kids club. We understand that the staff can’t see everything that goes on, but we were very upset. However, they need to be watching more closely. It was fine by us that he did want to go back because we preferred to spend time with him. He wanted to try it out so we let him, next time probably not. The other disappointing thing was red flag day on the beach most of the days we were there. We did not get to partake in any of the ocean activities. It was not their fault that the winds were blowing and the water was choppy. The resort grounds were beautiful. You had to walk a bit to get around, but it help to offset all the delicious food we ate. It was fun to see the raccoons and coati roaming the resort. It was fun to feed them even though you really were not suppose to. We had a great experience with the Best Day representative Alonso that helped us to decide which trips we wanted to take. He even helped us to try and locate some things we lost when we went on our Isla Mujeres Catamaran trip. They did not find it on the boat. He actually bought our son the toy that he had lost. That was certainly above and beyond! The staff was friendly and very helpful. There was ping pong, air hockey, pool, foosball, movies everynight and great shows each night. I would certainly will and already have recommended this resort!

An excellent family vacation with kids. Many restaurants (make reservations as soon as possible). Romantic reservation such as a boat ride should be done as soon as possible as well. Nice shows, food and drinks. My wife likes passion fruit martini but I enjoyed tequilas

“Family Oriented Environment”

Sandos "Caracol" was very laid back, family oriented environment. I loved the fact that it felt as if though you were in your own little world with everything within walking distance. Food was excellent and as we all know "buffets" sometimes are not the greatest, but here ALL "Buffet" meals were superb! Ate like never before, food well prepared, tasty and healthy. It was a safe environment, nothing to worry about. Very safe place to be with your teens and not worry about them. If you are looking for Luxury, then it's not for you, this is a laid back resort. You are not there to impress strangers, you are there to relax and enjoy!

“great if you have children-water park and kids club was great”

furniture in room was very dated and falling apart. loved the 3 different buffets. wonderful place if you have kids. if you don;t have kids it probably is not a good place to go. The description on expedia website was different than what i got. expedia description said sandard room had a couch.....it did not

“Great experience!”

My family and I had a great time! The hotel was great, much more than expected. This was our forth time in the area and probably the best. Our first experience with "all inclusive", would return every month if we could. I would recommend this hotel to all. As nice a place as we have stayed in th Yucatan. Hope to go back next year. So impressed, I would answer any e-mails about this place.
