Nice All-Inclusive on BEACH. RECOMMEND.Posted Nov 29, 2013
Pros: Everything. Especially the beach and staff.
Cons: Nothing that comes to mind.
Location: Great location south of Cancun. Many things to do in area. Mayan ruins, beach towns, diving, snorkeling, or just chilling out.
We just got back last night (Nov 28, 2013) from Sandos Caracol Eco. Stayed five nights. Had a very nice time. Beach is excellent. Food was good. Accommodations were very nice and clean (daily maid service was excellent). Staff is very accommodating, helpful and polite. They will do whatever is within their power to fulfill your requests. If someone complains about this place, they are probably just a complainer. Close to Playa del Carmen...ten minute taxi ride. This is our third trip to this area and have no reservation about recommending Sandos Caracol Eco!

A resort for all ages!!Posted Nov 23, 2013
Pros: The Superior Elite Room, the staff, cleanliness, food, drinks, service, dedication and going out of their way to please. Overall beauty.
Cons: Have more red wine stocked in the sports bar!! lol, the sports bar could have done with an extra bartender!!
Location: Location is about 45 minutes outside Playa del Carmen. A taxi cost sixteen dollars each way. Lots of things to do on 5th Ave or down on the beach.
I won't even start with the terrible experiences with my flight, but once I arrived at the Sandos Caracol Eco Resort and Spa, I had a big happy face!! We were treated like royalty from the beginning to the end of our stay. My daughter and I and her two children stayed at Sandos Caracol for one week. I have always promised my oldest grand daughter that I would take her to Mexico for her 13th birthday. We were actually there on her birthday too. The hotel had decorated our room with balloons and streamers, along with a three tier birthday cake made out of towels. On top of the cake, they had placed a glass dolphin figurine for her to keep!! The next day, we had went to one of the al cart restaurants. There they had our table layed out in cloth and bows. Also the staff there arranged for the Marachi band to come and sing a few songs, including Happy Birthday!! They also had made a delicious birthday cake for her with candles. What a great evening. It didn't stop there though. When we got back to our hotel room, we had found ANOTHER birthday cake, this time saying Happy Birthday in Spanish!! This resort pulled out the stops. The room was beautiful, we were on the ground floor in the Elite section. We literally could walk out and onto the poolside, and a few steps further was the beach!! The only negative I experienced was the huge rocks in the water. Not the resorts fault though. The beachside was kept clean and there was always someone by to take your drink order.

Nice placePosted Nov 19, 2013
Cons: At times getting water and coffee in morning was an issue.
Location: Been to area once before about ten years ago so stayed at resort all week.
In room 2011 in November 2013. Nice and friendly staff. Located near adult section and adult and family beaches around the corner, so short walk. Bed is little hard but got used to it over the week. Being few weeks before holiday not a lot of families there and ones there stayed more in area where kid pool is located. Looked like they were having a good time. Little more walk to beach but none where that bad of a walk. There is a pool with bar that was always pretty quite for reading. Can get a drink at breakfast area but beach bar didn't open until 1030. Once open getting waited on no issue. Every other night had dinner at sitting down and ordering off menu. All three were good along with service. Being located in jungle area can take walks through it and end up at beach. Appears to be a good family location with all the beach toys to check out, but due to time of the year wasn't real loud.

Great for FamiliesPosted Nov 15, 2013
Pros: So much to do. We stayed for 8 days and didn't feel like we needed to leave the resort.
I took my 2 and 4 year old sons to Sandos Caracol and we had a wonderful trip. I went into the trip knowing that it wasn't a 5 star resort and I think that is important to remember. The food isn't great, but there is a lot of variety and you are sure to find something you will enjoy. The drinks are great. The activities and the resort are AMAZING!!! It is nestled in a jungle, there are lots of wildlife, nature trails and places to explore. The waterpark is great for the kids. The daily pool activities are also a lot of fun. I stayed in a Royal Elite 1 bedroom suite and it was perfect for the 4 of us. There was a hallway separating the room so there was plenty of privacy. Great trip.

Our room was TERRIBLE to say the least. The door leading outside was comparable to an indoor bedroom door in America. You could hear an an ant crawl across the threshold. But the thing that really bothered me was the the single connector door in the room. Ya know when you get stay in a room and they have a connecting door for people who want to go between the 2 rooms? You open one door and you're usually greeted with what? ANOTHER DOOR! Not at this resort. There was one door with a single knob lock. So, when 4 people checked in to the door next door at 11pm on our second night, not only were you able to hear their convo like they we're sitting on your bed BUT you could see the light in their room from in between the cracks in the door! So unsafe and so no privacy! We ended up putting the mattress of the other bed up over the door so we could sleep. UGH! That's the other thing, we asked for a king bed in our room and when we arrived, king beds were sold out. So we received 2 doubles. Pillows on the beds are literally like boulders and the blankets resemble a 80s drapery in feeling and comfort so bring your own bedding. The Mexican buffet was closed the entire we were there. Sad. The Italiam buffet was only open for breakfast... Sad. The Japanese restaurant that shows you rolls and rolls of sushi only gives you the option of 4 rolls for an app. That's it. We left hungry. Don't stay here!!!

Little outdated hotel.Posted Nov 8, 2013
Standard rooms have a moldy smell especially the one's on the first level by the swaps. If you plan to stay here you might want to upgrade to superior room. Ok place for kids. Overall, you get what you pay for...
