Nice hotel, not great foodPosted Sep 9, 2014
Beach its beautiful but the food on the snack bars its really bad just burgers and hotdogs, no fruit, or good drinks everything tasted artificial different from other hotels. For me the beach and the food is critical so its a 50-50.

Great Beach with Good All-InclusivePosted Sep 9, 2014
The beach from the resort is amazing, it is the last resort and has access to all of the beach fronting the jungle covered land next to the resort. There is also a man made reef right off the beach that is fun and easy to snorkel, plenty of fish would be great with kids. The resort is nice nothing over the top but very nice. The staff is awesome and welcoming. The al a cart restaurants very from good to great and the buffet is nice for a buffet. The location is great you can ride into town on a bike in about 10 minutes, highly recommend doing as the tours booked in town are the same as the hotels sells but less than half of the cost for most.

Great valuePosted Sep 9, 2014
Pros: Very affordable, great service and nice facilities
Cons: Disco opened very late and never on time
Location: Great location, beautiful water and close shopping
Hotel was excellent. Facilities were very clean and comfortable. All inclusive truly included everything like stocked in room bar, room service and all food and drinks. Adults only feature was great including separate pool, swim up bar and great staff.

Great Beach Bad ServicePosted Sep 7, 2014
Pros: The Beach
Location: 5th Ave
My husband and I came here for our 5 wedding anniversary. This is our only alone time all year and we cherish it very much. Unfortunately this hotel really put a damper on that. Here are the major points that that we found issues while staying here: -Mold in vents - Rocks and tile broken all around spa pool area -Scaffolding was up during a paint repair with no workers around came crashing down right next to us. -Musty smell in rooms - The rooms near beach should all be redone, paint peeling, broken tv (that was NEVER fixed after 5 calls), etc -Horrible and I mean Horrible front desk service -Bad room service -Nearly Impossible to get beach/pools towels (had to put name on list and I guess you were charged if not returned that day) -Bad mixed drinks (only drink the beer) -No wait staff at beach Service Our first room in the Adult area face a wall. Like a wall 5 feet from you, we could not see anything else at all. And the adult section is the farest area to the beach. So far infact you need to take a golf cart or the shuttle van to get to it. We called and asked of we could change rooms and they said there was something available closer to the beach the next day. We called the front desk the next morning and confirmed our room change. We had a spa appointment that morning and we asked the front desk of we should pack and move now or after our appointment around noon. She said noon would be fine. So at noon we go with our bags to the front desk and are told

Fantastic Vacation!Posted Aug 26, 2014
Pros: Staff, beach, adults only section
Cons: Rooms could use some updates as well as the resort
Location: 5th Ave
My boyfriend and I stayed at Sandos in early August 2014 for a week and we have only positive things to say! We stayed in the Adults Only section and it was well worth it. The room was spacious and clean and we had a nice view of the adults only pool. As others have mentioned, the bed wasn’t the most comfortable but it worked. This section is the furthest from the beach, about 10 mins walking but with all the eating and drinking, it’s good to get in a little exercise. Adults only pool was great, shout out to Luis! The benefits that came along with our adults only package were awesome including an adults only breakfast, access to the aqua therapy pool at the spa and the Premium Bars at the Meeting Point and the lobby – our favorite “extra” as we could get better liquor and small eats – shout out to the bartenders there. We ate at all of the a la carte restaurants which were made possible by Daniela – I emailed her a week before and when we arrived, she had everything all set up for us, thanks so much! Great service at all especially Cordeirro at Riveira Maya and Alberto at Le Gourmet. The beach was my main focus when planning this trip and it did not disappoint – beautiful, big with gorgeous water! We spent all our time in the adults only section of the beach and cocktail server Yasmin was nothing short of wonderful. Overall, our stay was fantastic. For the price, you’re not getting a luxurious resort but you are getting superior service! All the staff - very friendly, EXTREME

Sandos Playa CarPosted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: The structure of the hotel room
Cons: Food and bedding
The bedding may be the most unconfortable I have ever slept on. The food for an all inclusive was horrible. I usually stay at all inclusives and this food other than fruit was not acceptable.

Pros: The staff was excellent.
Cons: The adult area needs to have more activities specifically at night.
Location: Don't miss a stroll down 5th area
I was looking more for an adult vacation and when I booked here (advertised as an all-inclusive adults only), I didn't realize that this was a minute part of the entire huge resort. While it may be great for a family, I would not recommend it for a romantic, adults only trip. As soon as you leave the adults only building and pool area, there are an extraordinary number of kids everywhere. Activities were catered to families.

All available amenities. Not long to go to beachPosted Aug 22, 2014
I had the best customer service from staff all around.Starting from Eidriss when we arrived he has great people skills. The ladies at the spa Carolina and Lidia excellent! We were on adult section so we got well taken care of by Denise, Luis, and the other boys too. And of course our Ruth our house keeper went over and above to make us comfortable with what was needed in the room. Rigo took us out for snorkeling and to see the cenotes. He was so secure knowledgeable. The food was tooo good. Everything was fresh and clean. Thank you so much and to all the beautiful people at the front desk. I hope to see you soon in a couple of months with more friends. :)))
