Pros: Besides the amazing bed. The beach was well maintained. There was a grounds keeper that was raking the seaweed continuously. Great beach for swimming
Cons: I don't how how they can improve on this but my only complaint was a neighbor that must have been hard of hearing...their tv work us up at 8am
Location: The tour of Tulum and Xel Ha was great. Plan for the day, great snorking at the natural water park. And it's all inclusive. Do bring credit card or $
First I chose this hotel because the beach was just steps from the beach. No long walk through a large resort. This resort was not boutique but rather medium in scale. Everything was very accessible. The restaurants were all excellent.

Pros: Food was awesome. The Japanese restaurant has great food. The beach was great. Comfortable loungers and service. Oscar was terrific.
Cons: The front desk employees. They need to communicate better and be friendlier. Our room without a view.
Location: Great location. Playa is not too far away, they have a shuttle or you can take a cab.
We paid for an ocean/garden view room, but when we arrived, they apologetically explained that they had to put us in the jungle view room because they were full, but that they would move us in 2 days. Our room was right next to the laundry/maid headquarters which was very loud and we did not have any view other than a stucco wall from our balcony. On day 2 we went to ask about our move and were told by Dulce that we would have to pay $180 a day for a new room. We explained what we were told and she kept repeating we would have to pay. We went to our concierge and they said Dulce was the only one who could help us. We went to Dulce the next day and now it was $150 a day to move. Sounds like a scam. Very dissappointing from Secrets!! We felt very cheated by Dulce and she was very rude about it. On the days we talked to Dulce, our room never got cleaned. Weird? We never did get a new room which was unfortunate, but we weren't going to let that ruin our vaca. The rest of the employees were excellent. Oscar on the beach was great! Beautiful resort (except from our balcony) and the food was wonderful. The beach was awesome, great service and food. The dive operation could use a little help. It was nice to have at the hotel, but the dive guy wasn't too excited about having to go out. Then they cancelled our next dives due to weather? The stay was nice and we would recommend this hotel but make sure you get what you pay for. Do not let them put you in room 406.

Pros: it's quiet.
Cons: find us an ocean front room when we want it.
Location: we were happy with just relaxing on the Resort.
very relaxing. we were not able to upgrade to an ocean view but our room was still a great room and very clean. the staff were very attentive to every request. we normally stay each year at the Secrets in Jamaica but this was great as well.

An overall great week due to great guest and great staff! This resort seems to attract nice people. Between Jonathon the charming activities director and the bar masters at Desires, we engaged with wonderful guests because of the employees people skills. Highly recommend this resort!

Pros: Room, pool, beach, resort areas, entertainment and activities, top shelf liquor and wine, and EXCEPTIONAL staff.
Cons: First, the food, it's pretty bad. Second.... lockers for carry on luggage as we had to carry it all day until check in time.
Location: All sorts of things to do. If you like the water, snorkeling, etc., don't miss Xel Ha.
After reading lots of reviews, we booked Secrets Capri and could not wait to get there. The resort is beautiful, the rooms are great, the pool and beach are great. The activities and entertainment staff do a wonderful job. The service and staff are exceptional. We cannot over express the politeness , professionalism and general friendly attitude of all the staff. We had a great time, and would love to go back, but, the food was terrible. The main buffet has very good breakfast, and excellent desserts, but, that's about it. Everything else at the buffet was poor. We tried the Italian, Seafood and Oriental restaurants, as well as the Cactus Club and buffet next to the beach. The service and atmosphere were excellent. The food was about the worst we have ever encountered at any resort or any restaurant anywhere. The beef fillet at the Italian restaurant , the grouper at the Seafood restaurant , the shrimp and salmon at the Oriental, the fish tacos, shrimp tacos, calamari at the Cactus club .... all terrible. (our opinion was expressed by many others we socialized with at the resort). On a couple of evenings the restaurants were closed and the staff arranged Mexican buffets, cookouts, shopping as well as live entertainment which was excellent. Such a great resort with such great staff, and to serve such sub standard food... what a shame. We are very disappointed.

Pros: The excellent staff. Very attractive building, pool and grounds.
Cons: Seafood restaurant needs to be much bigger
Location: Very convenient for Playa del Carmen. The beach to the south of the resort offered the opportunity for long walks.
My wife and I stayed at this beautiful resort from March 18-April 1st. From our check-in to departure, everything was wonderful. We have been staying at other resorts in the Amstar chain for many years but this was our 1st Secrets. Our garden view suite was spacious and very comfortable. Alejandro who maintained our room was excellent and excelled at so many different types of towel art. All of the staff were so friendly and made you feel very special. The food was very good and the only bad meal was dinner at the steak house by the beach. We always had breakfast and lunch in the Riviera buffet. Mario and his hostesses were always so welcoming and Ruth, Eddie and Dimas, to name just 3, were great and made breakfast and lunch so enjoyable. There were 2 other options for breakfast and lunch and they looked good and very busy but we preferred to take a break from the constant sun and ate inside. The dinner options were varied and we had super meals at Portofino( 5 times) and Victor was a terrific waiter. We also went to the hibachi 3 times and had great dinners and met so many interesting people. The seafood restaurant was also very good but it is quite small and wait times could be long but sitting outside and seeing the twinkling lights of Cozumel made it worthwhile. We always sat on the beach and the waiter service was excellent. Lucas, Carlos and Diana worked so hard and they were always making sure that everything was ok. The beach is good but not too big in places.

Great service, food, drinks. Friendly staff. The sea was wavy and the water murky. But that cannot be controlled. Other than that very nice experience. Rent a car, like we did, so you can go to Playa Del Carmen and Tulum. Great beach in Tulum. Go to Senior Frogs in seaport in Playa del Carmen. Fun place at the beach.

Loved our room, ocean view 2nd floor near pool. Food was great, even some variety in pool side buffet which you don't always find at an all inclusive. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Entertainment staff did a great job of encouraging participation...help them keep their job!! Lagoon walk with Johnathan is a must! Erin our favorite bartender. Cirque show needs a bigger stage and more practice but did well considering their limitations. Fire show was impressive but sit near the back .. The fumes will knock you out!

Liked the stay very much overall. Friendly staff and luxurious atmosphere. Would note that it was a much older crowd than I'd expected, so definitely not a spring breaker type destination. Food was ok but the 5 restaurants are only all open for dinner, with fewer options for lunch and breakfast.
