Short, but sweet!Posted Feb 19, 2014
Pros: The hotel felt luxurious. The interior garden, the rooftop pool/spa/bar, and the room itself were all great! The staff was attentive and courteous.
Cons: With the electricity off as you enter the room, the TVs default to music only. You should leave written directions to go to video programming.
Location: We had too little time to really enjoy all that was nearby entertainments. But, we did fill the time we did have... Very entertaining!
We had a very short stay in Playa del Carmen and only stayed two nights at the Palm. Yet, it was more than we expected. All to often, the room photos and facility photos tend to be more flattering than the reality. Palm at Playa was a spacious and beautiful surprise. We had some confusion about a couple of features in the room, and the staff responded almost immediately. The breakfast included provided a variety of foods on the buffet and the dinning room as clean and open to the street. We did venture to the rooftop bar on our second evening.. delightful. We didn't have time for the pool or spa, but would if we return in the future.

Good stayPosted Feb 15, 2014
Overall excellent . If you get a street view room please bring earplugs as the bar across the street will play annoying music until 05:00 in the morning and extremely loud , I'm guessing their employees are deaf.

Nice hotel close to everything!Posted Jan 15, 2014
Great big beds. Breakfast okay. Great modern look of whole hotel. Wifi wasn't great had to go the lifts to get a connection which was annoying. But everything else was great!

Beautiful rooms, short walk to beach, noisy streetPosted Jan 9, 2014
Pros: Calle 8 Restaurant excellent, room was impeccably clean and very big. Great balcony. I enjoyed the pool.
Cons: Overall, I was disappointed in the hotel because the noise from the street was unbearable until 5am. Pool always had music and there are few chairs.
Location: The Calle 8 Restaurant was excellent and many great restaurants within walking distance. Day trip to Tulum.
We vacation in Mexico every year over New Year's but we usually stay at all-inclusives. This year we decided to give the hotel thing a try because we heard the restaurant food in Playa del Carmen was excellent (and it definitely is). Price-wise, our trip this year ended up being about the same as a 5 star all-inclusve once we paid for flight, hotel and all of our food/drink.

A boutique hotel with lots of promisePosted Jan 5, 2014
This was our third visit and stay at this hotel. While this visit was okay, our prior visits were more enjoyable; probably because the facility had just opened. Like everything, management of the smallest details are what separates one facility from another. The breakfast buffet is very fair. The service a is good. Rene at the restaurant bar is great with the guests. Do NOT order the nachos by the pool. They use CANNED ballpark-like cheese. The Lime soup is GREAT. The salads are very good too. We went down to Mosquito Beach and had their breakfast buffet. Much NICER! and the view at MB cannot be beat. Overall we enjoyed Palms at Playa because of the location AND the ROOF TOP POOL. Probably their greatest asset. Do not stay in room 305. The gym is directly one floor up and depending when guest are working out, it can get very loud. Also, if you stay on Calle 8 side of the property, bring a noise machine and ear plugs. There is karaoke club across the street that closes at 4AM!

Nice hotel, very new, close to everythingPosted Dec 11, 2013
Pros: suite & balcony is huge very nice bed and 2 plasmas great shower ac in room and living area worked great Room Top pool and suana area
Cons: add a way to access hdmi input on TV's additional sound barrier for street room redesign suite (worthless space) add weight bench to gym
Location: close to everything
The hotel is great, staff helped us out a lot, they even upgraded us to a suite at check in. The suite is actually too big, its a waste of space, huge kitchen and dining area, with no fridge, and nothing but a couple of wine glasses. might as pull that area out and put a jacussi or something useful in there. because the suite is so big, we found we only used the bedroom, a regular room probably would have felt bigger since we were only in the bedroom. breakfast menu needs to be completely redone = it makes no sense, omelettes for 75 pesos, and continental for 125 pesos. they should just make a menu that says you get 1 free thing from here, here, and here and then you can pick from it. theres no way they will get paying tourist to stop for breakfast there, when they should because it looks very nice and inviting when you walk buy. I didnt look at the lunch and dinner menu because of the breakfast menu. white couches = show the dirt
