DissappointingPosted Dec 15, 2014
Pros: Grounds were nice, the pools were nice. Staff was great.
Cons: food needs improvement. stop with having to sign checks and having to tip every single person you come in contact with.
Nothing about the Royal Haciendas stood out to me. The ocean was not good for swimming in. (Cancun is better) The food was not good, and usually cold. The beds were hard and had back pain all week. Maid service (when they actually showed up) came at the strangest times. The staff was very friendly. Having to sign a check for everything was a pain.

Beautiful facility staff was nice and accommodatinPosted Dec 15, 2014
This resort is very beautiful but it definitely is a timeshare facility every time we turned around it seem like they were asking us for our room number and name this was to make sure that we were not timeshare but actually all-inclusive The beaches on this side of Playa del Carmen was not as nice as on the southside of Playa del Carmen not a very easy walk to the town. drinks were very weak and food was okay

Pictures don't do it justice. It's spectacular!Posted Dec 9, 2014
Pros: Great service! All inclusive made us feel like kings! Rooms were high end. Workers seemed to have great attitude. Restaurant right on the beach!
Cons: *The concierge was helpful, but he pushed us to go to a timeshare presentation. *The two hot tubs weren't that hot... maybe 90*?
Location: We went to Xcaret, Downtown Playa Del Carmen, Tulum, Akumen, and a cenote.
The pictures don't do this place justice. We originally booked this all inclusive hotel because it had the best price. Pictures made it look ok, but I tempered my expectations. When we arrived, the hotel was spectacular. Rooms were high end with granite. Shower was huge--jetted tub on balcony. The resort was well manicured. Everything was so perfect. There was a restaurant right on the beach-- we chose to eat there nearly every meal. During the day, we laid out by the beach under the umbrellas-- and waiters bring you your drinks and food. My wife and I were really blown away by the quality of nearly everything. No hesitations, we would go back to this same resort. (Disclosure--we rarely travel and have no experience at any of the other resorts in Playa del Carmen or Cancun. So who knows--- maybe they're all this good.)

Nice and clean hotelPosted Dec 9, 2014
Cons: would like to see more activities during the day. Also moving from one room to another, as soon as some members need your room, is not wright.
Overall is good. But fact that you have to move from one room to another did make me not to come anymore to this hotel. We had kids with us and had to keep all our stuff in suitcases, as staff told us that we have to move to different room in 3 days. It happened with our friends too, but they had too move from room to room twice in 10 days.

Brilliant location.Posted Dec 4, 2014
Fantastic staff and hotel. The gardens were always maintained everyday. Great for family's. Only downside was the horendous amount of seaweed washed up on the beach everyday. But, the hotel staff were always out there trying to clear it! But, they were fighting a losing battle.

Great hotel!Posted Dec 2, 2014
Only thing missing is a kids pool with toys and slides as well as entertainment outside at night. There was no live music outside and it gets pretty dead around 7-8 pm.

Nice place but loud with inconveniences.Posted Dec 1, 2014
First the good: beautiful hotel, great rooms and grounds, good food, friendly staff. The bad: check-in was very long. On-site staff has to call Royal to ask questions and get permissions which makes any requests tedious. It was a noisy hotel. Employees made noise outside our room early in the morning and late at night plus the floors are tile so rolling carts and luggage down the halls was very loud. We had to change rooms on the last night of our stay, which was inconvenient. We were told our luggage would be moved to our new rooms with no inconvenience to us by 11:30 am. However, our new rooms were not cleaned until 4 pm and we had to track down our luggage ourselves. We still enjoyed our vacation but would not recommend this resort.

Awesome VacationPosted Dec 1, 2014
Pros: The suite was very clean and there was plenty of room for the four of us. The grounds were beautifully maintained.
Cons: The seaweed was being buried in the sand instead of it being removed daily which made the beach area not very appealing.
Location: Downtown Playa Del Carmen is about 15 minutes away and the resort offers a daily shuttle to/from for a small $3.00 fee.
We just returned from a wonderful vacation in Playa Del Carmen. My husband and I were very pleased with the resort and the service that we received. We had our 8 and 10 year old daughter's with us and they had a blast!! There was a total of 12 of us enjoying our vacation and let me tell you we were treated with respect and got served within a reasonable time for being such a large group. David one of our servers in the pool area was great and very attentive to our needs. He took great care of us as did Julio. The restaurant staff was also great and they got to know us and served us the minute that we showed up. Sure made us feel welcomed!! Can't wait to return!

We loved this place!! Yeah it's a pain having to sign the slips but that's minimal. We usually being mugs with to go all inclusive but the drinks were served in large glasses so we didn't really need them as much as at other places. Grounds and rooms were very very clean!! Only problem we had was at checkout. We paid for all of our tips in cash, never charged to the room. There were two room charges on there for tips is what it looked like. Sarai at the front desk was amazing! She told me if you didn't have these charges then you shouldn't pay for them. It was only 20 bucks. She went above and beyond and grabbed all receipts from November 12. We went through them and the rooms there are confusing. There is an A side and B side. We were 157B. I thought the server had just added a tip. Turns out our neighbor had signed 2 receipts with our names at the bottom!! He was charging to our room. Whether he did it on purpose, not sure. But she pulled out the receipts with signed names on it and it matched our neighbors and took the charges off. So pleased. Be careful about that. Keep your receipts to double check if you are charging to your room. Not a bad deal. She had mentioned that sometimes employees get the A and B incorrect. I would go back! Took yoga class in the morning one day and relaxed the rest of the trip.
