“wish we could have stayed longer.”
pool bar "heaven" staff was outstanding. All the employees that we delt with acted as if they truely wanted to serve you and were there for you personally. They made sure to remember you and what you liked and always seemed genuenlly concerned about how your stay was going. We loved the people and the grounds were fantastic. our room was their basic, beds were comfortable and clean.... the room was always made up on our return..seemed like they knew when we left and got right on it. turn down service everynight. never ran into them cleaning our room but it was done. The shows were excelent!!! Food would blow your mind. It truely was the staff that made the trip I can not say enough about them!
“Beautiful but!”
The first thing you will notice is they will make you WAIT until 3:00 to check-in. Most hotels I have been too will accomodate, they will not. One of the most beautiful hotel grounds, but lacking in the can-do area of service. Lunch at buffet, good luck getting good service, they are more concerned about cleaning up for dinner. The had power go out two nights for preventative maintenance and 2nd morning did not come on till 7:45. Dinner at the speciality restuarants was very good, have to say. They pay special attention to 'Silver' level guests. Vacation was nice, but I have been given much better service at other hotels in area.
“Second trip-good again”
We have visited VIM for the second time Nov 24-30. Just as good as the first time. This time we booked Silver suite and were not happy. The design of the suite somehow weird: jacuzzi between the bedroom and restroom with a sheer panel. Everything you do in the bathroom is heard in the room. The TV set is too small and it's difficult to watch from the bed. Otherwise, no complains. we were at building 1, 3dr floor, some ocean view in the distance. Building located near the main lobby and restaurants. Try build. 4 if you in deluxe rooms. Food and drinks are good, just ask for premium brands. they are on shelves, but they try to put domestic in your mixed drinks. beer could be better, just coors light and some not so good mexican. French restaurant is a total waste of time and total disaster, don't bother to go. the dinner took over 3 hours, all main dishes were undercooked (there were 6 of us) and totally unprofessional waiters and managers with an attitude. I spoke with a couple of other people, they got same problems. Tamansari-indonesian- was the best. Japanese is nothing special, if you are from a big city with a lot of sushi places, sushi and hibachi are so-so, salads are very spicy. Breakfast and lunch are good. The beach restaurant's lunch menu is extensive. Circus show was good. Grounds are beautiful. the ocean and the beach are amazing. totally recommend this resort.
“4th time and still the best”
The staff are so nice and want to make your stay the best. Edgar and Fernando are the bar managers and will get you any drink you want. The bartenders and staff at the sports bar and Don Miguel are the best. This place has made some changes and are doing a wonderful job. We have been to this area over 15 times and this is our favorite place. Best value around. Beach is great and so are the pools.
“Would return to VIM!!!!”
VIM exceeded our expectations. We found it to be a good price point. The service here is that of any five star resort (Half Moon, Pink Sands) that we have stayed at. Lizzbeth and Jacob and many others go above and beyond to see that your every need is addressed!
“A wonderful, relaxing vacation”
The Valentin Imperial Maya was a beautiful resort located on the beach. The resort has 14 buildings of rooms that can cater to different needs - do you want a beach side room? They have that. Rather have pool side? They have that too. Want to be close to the restaurants? They've got that too, and many others in between. They have many restaurants on site including French, Mexican, Italian, Japanese, Streak House, Sea Food, and general buffet, plus numerous onsite bars, including swim up bars, and beach side drinks. The food was wonderful at all the restaurants. The atmosphere was super relaxed and quiet. The beach is really nice, but a little rocky at some points so beware stepping into the ocean water. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars on hotel service is that they were supposed to give us a "honeymoon" care package, but even after a few reminders, they still didn't. That took 1 star away from being a perfect score. The grounds are covered in lush jungle fauna, and some interesting wildlife makes an appearance now and again. The rooms and buildings are very clean, and the staff is extremely friendly and well-mannered. They also have shows and events all the time for people looking for some activities, and one pool caters more toward the relaxation types (read by the poolside, etc) while the other is more of the "party pool" (swim up bars, dance lessons by the pool, music playing, etc). This place really has something for everyone, and I would highly recommend it!!
“Not amazing...not terrible”
The beach was okay, but we gave our server a large tip at the beginning of the day to take care of us and we saw him twice in a 6 hour period. Our room wasn't cleaned until we asked for it to be cleaned at 6pm because we wanted to get cleaned up for dinner. Food was average. Staff was friendly. They are quite stingy with their beach towels. The resort is quite spread out, we didn't particularly mind because we are very active, but keep this in mind.
“Wonderful hotel”
The Valentin Imperial Maya is a wonderful hotel. The grounds are amazing. Wonderfully huge pool and pool bars - can have as much activity as you want or none at all. Beach is gorgeous. Service was attentive and paid great attention to details. My only complaint with the room is the pillows weren't comfortable but then I did not ask if they had other pillows I could use. Many restaurants to choose from and the food was very good if not excellent at most. Loved the spanish architecture. Had an opportunity for excursions which were very well run. Mini bar in room had only sodas, water and beer. Would have brought along an inflatable raft for the pool if we had known there were none provided by the hotel.
“Paradise”
The hotel staff members were friendly and helpful. The hotel grounds are beautiful. The room was amazing, especially the jacuzzi. Clean and comfortable. The pool area is beautiful and very relaxing. Food and drinks were all delicious.
“Perfect getaway!”
After researching many resorts on Expedia, my boyfriend and I decided on valentin. We definitely made the right choice! Our only complaint was we did not stay long enough! Hotel staff were amazing, best food I've had at an all inclusive. Drinks were also made well. Last all inclusive I stayed at I felt like the alcohol content was watered down in most drinks, but here drinks were just as they should be! Best day travel also set us up on an amazing excursion! If you like adventure I recommend the ziplining at selvatica! Can't go wrong with thus resort! Definitely made us returning customers!
