One of the nicest all-inclusives that I have been to. The staff is so attentive and strive to make your stay as relaxing and special as possible. Food/restaurants were excellent. We will definitely be going back.

The second we got to the Riu we were greeted with a drink. The alcoholic drinks were fairly weak but it wasn't a big deal because you could just ask for a double or drink more! We were still served as quick and good as when we didnt tip. Tips are were not manditory. Eddy and Mario were by far our favorite employees at the hotel they were so much fun! The rooms were nice and big but the bedding wasn't that comfortable. The pool was amazing. I agree with the other reviews that if you want a good seat you need to be there early. We would get to the pool around 10-11am each day and always could find one but had to look hard. The poolside service was awesome! We wish the pool was open later than 8 but it was nice that there was always a show in the theater. Make sure to check out the Michael Jackson show! It was great! Don't waste your time at one of the specialty restaurants. We went to La Toscana one night and it was not good at all. We went to the buffet right after. If you walk about a mile down the beach to the right there was a small tent with women giving massages. We got two, one hour massages for $40 including a tip! Overall we reccommend this hotel and will definetely be staying here again in the future.

Our 8th trip to an all-inclusive (May 2016). This trip was truly awesome so I had to go with 5 stars. Breakdown:
Hotel/Rooms: Super clean and almost new. Marble floors shine. Great modern bar overlooking the beach for the evenings. Only con is the small (but modern) bathroom.
Beach/Pool – Plenty of chairs at both (maybe it was not a busy time). Chairs are cushioned and there are tables and shade is needed. The beach sand is not white but very clean and you walk and explore for hundreds of years in both directions.
Food: Only buffets were open for breakfast and lunch and the food was similar every day. That said it was a good variety and fresh/tasty. We did all the a-la cartes, food was good, not the best we have had. Hogfish at the Mexican restaurant was excellent.
Drinks: Drinks were made to order using proper ingredients. Sugar is added separately so drinks can be made with less or none as we usually request. They have a good selection of brands (Tanqueray, Atlantic …). Rogelio at the swim up bar took great care of us.
Activities/Entertainment: Played water polo every day and did some of the noon fun games. I took the catamaran sailing twice . They have a band that plays the lounge every night and a disco – not too busy during our stay but something to do at night. The entertainment shows were just OK – better for kids maybe.
Service: Everyone was friendly and attentive. Again an A+ here which put this place into 5 stars.

The hotel General manager made sure everything at the hotel ran smoothly. Food was very good there was always something for everyone. There was always beef , chicken , pork , or fish at every lunch or dinner. Every meal had fruit and vegetables. The staff was helpful and wonderful. There was a different show every night. We really liked the Italian restaurant. We had a great stay. We are going to return to the Decameron in December. .

We really enjoyed our stay. We chose this resort for our honeymoon. The service was wonderful. Definitely recommend the all-inclusive package. The hotel was peaceful, and the sister resort hotel offered lots of activities to participate in. The VIP beach club was the best!!! The beds were a bit too firm for our taste, and we were hit by a few pesky ants that roamed the resort. All in all though, it was a great place to stay! We felt safe within the resort areas and we loved the beach. We would stay here again in the future. Just bring bug spray.

Great service staff and facilities although some of the rooms are on the smaller side. All the food is ala carte which makes for a great experience, instead of the usual buffet options that all inclusive resorts usually provide. The hotel is a little far away from most activities, but is peaceful and relaxing because of its distance from Puerto Vallarta.
