Travelling along hwy 81, this location saved us from driving into and out of Roanoke which saved us some time. The Mexican restaurant in the adjoining car park was terrific with delicious good value food.

Good for an overnight stayPosted Nov 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
I stayed here recently to make catching a very early flight at the nearly Roanoke Regional Airport a little easier (Home is ~50 minutes away). The rooms were clean, the service was fine, and the bed was comfortable. The only issue I would mention is the musty/moldy smell in the room. It was late, and I was too tired to request a room change, but I was certainly congested the following morning.

Definitely sub-standardPosted Nov 8, 2013
I was very surprised and disappointed by this hotel. We frequently stay at Hampton Inns when traveling, because we like knowing what to expect. This was nothing like any Hampton Inn I have seen. It appears to have been a much cheaper, poorly constructed motel that was given a few cosmetic upgrades and a name change. Our bathroom door, and the door connecting us to the next room, were made of battered, peeling particle board. The carpet was very old and badly stained (as in, a wide, black stain stretching about two feet). The bathroom was similarly dismal, with (ahem) pubic hair on the bathtub soap dish to fully confirm my negative opinion. The walls were also so thin that as we lay in bed, we could hear our neighbor using the bathroom in great detail. In addition to the nighttime noises keeping us awake, the only actual curtain over the window was sheer, so there was certainly no risk of sleeping in. Hampton Inn hotels would be wise to either do a complete renovation, or sell this property to a much lower-end chain.

Location: The only downside was the location. Nothing much in the way of eateries nearby.
Spent one night at the Inn....very pleased with the room and the staff. The breakfast provided was very good.

Great Hotel stay close to the MountainsPosted Oct 25, 2013 on Hotels.com
We came to Roanoke for a visit to the Blue Ridge Parkway to sightesee the changing foliage. This Hampton Inn is 20min from entrance to the parkway, close to plenty of great restaurants, and has a very friendly staff. The hotel is quiet, cozy, and has a very nice dining area with comfortable seating. It could probably use a few more tables, but was sufficient for that morning. The room was clean, up-to-date, and plenty of towels. The pool area has tables that we relaxed around during the afternoon while our room was being cleaned. Very relaxing visit all around!

Everything was good at the Hampton Inn. I especially enjoyed the gym room. I was surprised at the all the equipment available for exercising. Breakfast was a nice bonus.

nice hotel in a convenient locationPosted Oct 6, 2013
Location: Roanoke Coliseum is only 5 minutes away. Va Tech fairly close too.
There was a line at check in due to the hotel being completely booked. The entire property was very clean and welcoming. Our room had an issue with the a/c which made the room smell musty, but otherwise was satisfactory. The breakfast and staff there were great!
