Passing through

Posted Aug 13, 2014
Pros: Price and kept clean and acceptable.
Cons: Not much, I think they were working on it because it seemed newly acquired.
Location: Location was good off main thoroughfare with other services available.
We were just passing through -- so were only there for a short period of time. No one wants to pay a high price for a pass-through visit, so considering the price we got, (as opposed to the signs you see advertising low rates and then when you get there and there are two of you, the price more than doubles).... this was a great price. Considering the price, you got great breakfast free and the place was very acceptable. We give it a thumbs up!

Ok for the price.

I'm never fond of hotels that rent rooms by the week that people live in, and it's easy to see this is one of those. Also, the room wasn't very clean. The sink fixtures had toothpaste spit on them that would come off easily if housekeeping had bothered to try. The air conditioner made an aweful loud noise when turned on. The inside of the door was dirty- needs cleaning or painting. An upside was the bed was really comfortable. The sheets and towels were clean. The staff was nice. Down the street is a great restaurant and pub, the Town Center Taphouse. It was ok for the price I paid and for just one night.

Great stay for hikers

Posted Jun 15, 2014
My husband and grandson are hiking the Appalachian Trail. This hotel sits literally on the Trail and the staff are especially helpful to the hikers. There is a laundry room, a pool and free breakfast. A plaza with a Krogers and an Outfitter and plenty of places to eat are walking distance. The hotel is older and in need of updating, but it was clean and everything is in working order. Each room has a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and TV - all wonderful, wonderful! when you've been walking for miles, sleeping in a tent, and living on powerbars!

Driving Through

Pros: friendly staff and good breakfast
Cons: upgrades to the restroom/washroom
Location: Natural Bridge, Caverns, Blue Ridge Mountains, Otter peak blue ridge
Hotel staff and the breakfast is something good to talk about but with regard to the room it surely could use an overall especially the restroom/washroom. Note all amenities are not available year round and Expedia should update their website accordingly.
