“Old building, much in need of repairs”

Toilet not bolted to the floor, rocks back and forth, Room needed much repair, curtains going to pieces. Bed comfortable, quiet location, price not too bad, breakfast good, personnel very kind. Won't stay there again, sorry.

“crack house”

it was like staying in a crack house!cigarette burns in blankets, towels were stained up,shower water would not drain from bathtub and the list goes on i would sleep in my car before i would stay in that hotel again!

“A DUMP that ruins the Howard Johnson name.”

Musky; moldy; shoddy; stinky; sink would not drain; rusted staples holding up base boards; lopsided toilet; I booked this because of the reputation of Howard Johnson...I will never book a Howard Johnson again. If I had not arrived so late at night, I would have left and found another hotel.

“Women beware.....”

Hotel staff EXCEPTIONALLY NICE. Manager WONDERFUL. However, I was first given an upstairs room, in the back, next to litter and woods. All exterior doors, both stairwells enclosed with blind spots. NOT an acceptable place for a single woman traveling alone. The room was very dated and several lights did not work. When my key didn't work, I went to the manager, and when I told him my room number, he immediately changed my room without being asked. The new room was far better, first floor, near the office, well lit and "busy" area. Appeared to be an upgrade. AC did not work well, but otherwise the room was fine for the price. Breakfast was good and lobby/kitchen area clean. Would recommend room to men or couples who just want a place to sleep in the Roanoke area.

“You Get What You pay For”

The Hotel is very old and in bad need of remodeling. The towels had stains on them. The bed covers had Burn holes and the AC was so bad it completley moistened the window. There was standing water on the top of the AC and the Curtains were soaking wet each morning. Which explains the mold on them.

“Horribly filthy & terrible service”

1. Hair in tub, did not come and clean til next morning. 2. Mildewed shower curtain. 3. Dried (vomit?) in ice bucket, which was turned over on the table. 4. Cigarette burns in blanket and bedspread. 5. Sticky, dirty spill marks on blanket. 6. Huge water bug/roach in floor. 7. One towel in room for 4. Would not bring more to room, we had to go get them. Needed 4 more the next day and they brought them to us but said they only had 2 dry (at 10 am). I'd give negative points if I could. I have never seen a hotel this terrible and am surprised they are even still in operation, let alone under the Howard Johnson/Wyndham flag. Will likely never stay in any Ho Jo again after this.
