“Friendly!”

Pet people are very friendly and there were quite a few pets at the hotel because of the hurricane. Just a nice group of people!

“a fine stay at a nice hotel”

this hotel was just fine. no surprise charge for my dog.and a nice ground floor room.i spent two comfortable,quiet nights here after visiting museums in roanoke.i stayed at red roof inn because i know i will always have a nice room at a reasonable rate.and the dog is always welcome.i would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a nice room in an easy to get to location and a good place to eat close by..

you should visit the O. WINSTON LINK museum and the VIRGINIA TRANSPORTATION MUSEUM in downtown roanoke.it is very near MARKET STREET. plan on a full day or two .there is a lot to see here! and parking is not a problem for either of the museums.downtown roanoke is a surprisingly cool area.

“Beyond Terrible”

This hotel was horrible. The rooms were nasty and we stayed in our clothes and slept on top of the covers. We were awake until 2AM because of other guests being loud and obnoxious. The indoor pool was freezing cold and the hot tub was also freezing cold and filthy. The pool towels they gave us were stained and dirty. The breakfast was nothing short of gross. This place is in a very poor location and would not suggest going out after dark.

Area recommendations

I never left the hotel because it was in such a terrible neighborhood, so I cannot recommend any place in the area to go to or see.

“Get what you pay for”

The hotel pool was extremely warm and the hot tub water was very cold. The area was not watched, numerous kids jumping in, not at all an enjoyable time. Fitness area was closed down, no eplanation, just simply a locked door. These were two of the reasons we selected this hotel so it was a disappointing experience. Room was ok, nice bed, no fridge.

“Not impressed”

The motel was adequate. The workers were nice and polite. Our non-smoking room was across the hall from smoking rooms and smelled like deodorizer and smoke. I had to wash everything when I got home to get the smell out! The rate was good, but I would rather pay a little more for a nicer place that doesn't smell like smoke.

“Not Impressed”

Clean rooms, but anemities were non existant. I'm from the Area, traveling on the Holidays, much better hotels in the area... Spotty Wireless, No workout room or Hot Tub (Both Out of Order) and non-existant breakfast(Waffles and Toast only) oh, and Oatmeal if you wanted it dry...

“Decent for the price”

Much better than the Howard Johnson's a short distance away!!! Clean, friendly, and indoor pool/hot tub. Would have been a bit better with an in-room microwave and/or mini refridgerator, but made due with the microwave in the lobby. The wi-fi reception was AWFUL and I was just on the 2nd floor. But other than that, it was a nice stay, especially for the price!

“The good and the bad”

This was the second time we had stayed at this motel, and over all it is a good value because of the indoor pool which I need for health reasons. The first night the hot tub was just cold, but the pool was as hat as a hot tub. I mentioned this to the desk clerk, and the pool was a little cooler each night. The hot tub was never heated. The breakfast was meager to say the least. Toaster waffles and bread for toasting, coffee, juice, and a few apples. Cereal was available but no milk to put on it. Since there was no fridge or microwave in room, we could not supplement breakfast fare there. Fortunately there is a really good breakfast buffet down the road at a reasonable price. The outside door nearest our room was out of kilter; we could go in that way but not out. The staff was friendly, and as it is more affordable than other area motels with indoor pools, we will probably stay there again when visiting in the cooler months. I just wish they would attend to fixing the little things that would make it a more outstanding stay.

Area recommendations

Roanoke is a neat city; we really love historic Grandin Village where our granddaughter lives and which is home to Grace's Pizza, Pop's ice cream, and Too Many Books. The market area downtown is fun to visit with more good restaurants, some old advertising wall murals that have been restored, and a really contemporary art museum which we enjoyed. Our granddaughter was married on the deck beneath the Mill Mountain Star ; the view from there is amazing. Don't bypass the adjacent towns of Vinton and Salem (home of Roanoke College). Vinton has an absolutely excellent Thai restaurant, Red Jasmine.
