Pros: Facility was very nice.
Cons: I booked a room with two queens. When I arrived, they only had a King and we were 4 adults. We had to get a roll-away bed. Not what we planned.

Watching the granddoggie

Posted Jul 28, 2015
Pros: beautiful hotel and pet setup
Cons: just a small detail of running the sweeper a little better.
Location: food close by
Friendly staff, clean. The hotel is set up really well for people who have pets. I will use this hotel again. I live in Pa. and my daughter in Georgia, so Roanoke is about half way for us.

Beautiful hotel for a great price!

Posted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: Location, amenities and welcoming staff
Cons: Wi-Fi was really slooooow. Also would be nice to provide free breakfast.
Location: Visited Walmart, Target and two restaurants in downtown Roanoke. Also picked up oldest son from 4-week summer program at VMI in Lexington, VA.
Because we managed to book this hotel for a great discounted rate, I wasn't really expecting much. But this hotel really delivered everything we were looking for and more! From the moment we drove onto the property, we felt welcome and relaxed. It started with the bellman, Xavier, who even while assisting another guest, welcomed us to the Sheraton and asked us if we needed assistance. Great first impression for any weary traveler. We were quickly checked in and given a fast overview of the facilities and how to get help with anything we needed. Though the hotel was the headquarters for a national softball tournament, we were given a quiet room well away from the hubbub. The room was a dream, nice-sized with two queen beds, decent-sized bathroom, refrigerator, Starbucks coffee and free bottled water. We had a wonderful dinner in the hotel restaurant, Shula's 347 and a great buffet breakfast in the hotel dining room. Was disappointed that breakfast was not included, but because of the great hotel rate, I got over it. Didn't get to enjoy either of the two pools, but plenty of other guests definitely did. Perfect way to beat the nearly 100-degree temperatures. Overall, it was a great hotel, with nice amenities and awesome customer service. If we're ever in the area again and we can get a discounted rate :-), my family will definitely stay there again!

Issues with cleanliness

Posted Jul 20, 2015
Room looked nice at first, but the more time we spent we began to notice subtle issues with the cleanliness. There were cobwebs in the corners of the room and the sheets had small stains around the edges. It didn't ruin our ability to spend the night but it was a little disconcerting to feel like corners were being cut in terms of cleanliness. If you're going to spend $100+ on a hotel room, I'd recommend checking some of the other hotels out.

Balcony

So nice to have balcony that was actually accessible! Most hotels have closed off access to balconies due to liability.

Appearance was nice but....

Posted Jul 20, 2015
Pros: Appearance
Arrived after 10PM after driving for three hours. The A/C would run for 10 minutes and then stop.....and then start again.Very annoying. I am sure this is room specific. It was also louder than usual. I guess I need to travel with ear plugs, even while staying at nice places.

Very comfy!

Posted Jul 13, 2015
Had great time! Employees were excellent. Had room that was convenient for our dog. Only concerns were room smelled like mildew and bathroom was very cramped. Loved the openness of the area. Wished the little restaurant/ snack bar was open longer hours too!

Pros: I love this hotel. I use to live in Roanoke and have always enjoyed the food, staff and facility.
Cons: There was a large spot in the carpet. Carleting was filthy. Noticed a lot of humid hot air especially when getting oFf of the elevator.
Overall experience was okay. I would also add that the hotel should provide perhaps five more handicapped parking spaces. I always enjoy the friendly staff and the ease of getting to where I need to go from the hotel.
