“Outdoor entry”
The room was spacious and clean. The air conditioner was a little loud and the walls were thin. Other guests and traffic noises could be heard quite clearly inside. The design is the older motel style of room doors opening onto the parking lot or, in our case, the second floor walkway. I personally do not like the inconvenience of walking up a flight of stairs with all my luggage. And I do not like having to walk outside to get to the motel lobby for breakfast. This trip wasn't too bad since the rain stopped by morning. If I need to stay in this area again I will spend the extra few dollars to stay at a motel of a more modern design. However, for the price this motel was a decent value. Also, don't trust Google maps for the location. Google shows it as being about 1/4 mile North of Rt 158 when it is actually about 300 ft South. Crossing three lanes of roadway at the last minute is no problem at 1:00 AM but during regular business hours it might cause you some concern.
“most surprised”
The jamison Inn was a very comfortable hotel. The employees went out of their way to make you feel wanted. Breakfast was good. The office center was easy to use and access. We would stay here again if we were in Roanoke Rapids again.
“quiet during the day.. great pool”
our only complaint would be the card keys never worked...had to get new key cards 3 times in 5 day stay....only had eggs (boiled) 1 day for breakfast.
“extremely clean, extremely friendly staff, excellent breakfast.”
this is THE nicest, cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was amazing. Fresh waffles, sausage biscuits, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs. The ONLY complaint...the bed was very hard so we didn't get much sleep.
“Older hotel”
The hotel staff was very nice but the rooms were old and needed some updating. The breakfast wasn't the greatest but it was ok. I've stayed at Jameson Inns before and they were in much better shape than this.
“Good service, Very helpful”
The service was really good. They were quite helpful since I am partially handicapped. I wish there was an easily accessible ramp to the rooms. Fan in bathroom did not function and there were some black hairs on the floor in the sink/bathroom area. Breakfast area very clean.
“Very good hotel and great attitude”
As well as the room being clean and well equipped, the employee at the front desk had a wonderful attitude. This is quite refreshing at a time when not everyone has a good attitude. I would definitely stay here again.
“Nice place to stay solo, or with the guys, for cheap. Not a place I would take my wife and kids.”
Stayed for 2 nights. The first night there was a lot of young rowdy guests that checked in late and made a lot of racket. Unfortuneately one group was right next to my room and I could hear everything they were saying through the papaer thin walls. Luckily the second night they were gone and that night was more peacefull. My guess is the rates were so low that young travelers stay there due to financial resources. Other than that the stay was nice. I was solo this trip and would stay solo again. I would not stay here with my family.
